    🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 315 (my 245th).

    Goals for every round;

    • First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
    • to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
    • be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
    • to have a totally 10-day binge free round.
    • Would like to lose a pound round.

I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.

    image-31325a4df63d1-af70.png

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life."Health is wealth".

11/16 139.2 (trend 139.9) Very happy with myself this round, moved back into the 139’s (trend is there too today!), recognising that this 1.6 pound loss is due to consistency & no binge. Let’s see if I can lose another pound next round.

    EW Rnd 314 139.2

    SW Rnd 315 139.2

11/17 139.2 (trend 139.8) – invited by DD & family for Sunday lunch & day with them. Managed to get out early for a brisk 4 mile walk before we left for the hour and a half journey.

    11/18 139.6 (trend 139.8) – 8.5 miles walked.

    11/19 139.6 (trend 138.7) 7.41 miles walked.

11/20 139.8 (trend 139.8) 10.26 miles walked, a late meal out yesterday of pasta.

    11/21 139.2 (trend 139.7) 8.77 miles walked.

11/22 DNW – no structured walking, left home at 5.30 am to head for DS’s home, cared for 2 DGD’s all day & stayed over. Took them to a Christmas Tree festival, also dropped a dozen baby hats that I had knitted at the children’s hospital after I answered the call for some to be donated. Corrected yesterday’s weird update.

Woot! Yesterday was my brunch & knitting day with a friend, but we did no snacking. Good girls!Β

    11/19 β€” 196.2
Not sure what I’ve changed exactly, but I seem to be on the right track. 😊

    11/20Β β€” 196.4
We’ve been trying some of the meal subscription programs over the past few monthsβ€”started with Hungry Root, moved on to Home Chef. Food was good with both, but DH does much of the cooking, and he was starting to complain about the time it took to prepare meals (granted I’d probably make them in less time, but didn’t volunteer πŸ€ͺ). I wasn’t happy with the caloriesβ€”both of those seem to think 700+ per meal is β€œcalorie conscious.” Not if you’re 5’3” and over 70! Anyway, now we’re two weeks in with Tempo and we’re both loving it! We can each choose our meals, so he gets his pastas etc. and I get ~400 calories. They’re ready to microwave, but never frozen, so everything is as if just preparedβ€”meats are tender and juicy, veggies perfectly cooked. We just heat and plate (to feel more civilized) and enjoy. For us, it’s slightly more expensive than scratch, but no wasted food forgotten in the fridge, so probably really about the same. I just thought I’d mention in case anyone is considering services.Β

    11/21 β€” DNW

    11/22 β€” 196.4

Not much to report! I’ve been doing a little more clearing outβ€”I’d say decluttering, but after all the moving around we did for 10 years, we don’t really have much clutter. But I do have things I’m no longer using, and so far I’ve donated some skinny clothes πŸ₯², taken some books to the used book store, sold or given away some of my dog-show equipment, and tossed some old files (because do I really need vet records going back 30 years?). Now I’m thinking of cleaning out the shelves in my office/knitting room closet. Most of it is things I’ve madeβ€”watercolors I no longer hang and am very unlikely to in the future, a few spare copies of my books (I.e., books I wrote), some weird stuff I’ll never use again. I’ve found in the past that clearing such places makes me feel lighter, which in turn inspires me to be lighter. Such a strange mental link, but it’s there. Other than that, I’ve been doing a lot of knitting and listening to audiobooks and music and pondering how to cozy up my living room. All of which seems to make for less snacking! I do have the holiday baking itch, but I’m resisting. Have a lovely Saturday, all!

@deepwoodslady -Donna-the recipe I use is for chicken enchiladas but I layered it in a pan with a few corn tortillas instead of rolling them up with a bunch of flour tortillas (aiming for low carb). I chop up cooked chicken and add cream of chicken soup, sour cream, a can of green chilis, and cumin. I put green sauce in the bottom of the pan, a thin layer of corn tortillas and 1/2 of the chicken mix, top with cheese and pour green enchilada sauce over that and top with another layer of corn tortillas. Repeat with chicken mix, cheese then drench in sauce, adding more cheese when it’s almost done heating. I can make that the night before and just heat it when I get there. My dad is easy going, my mom used to say you could fry horse crap and he would eat it.πŸ˜‚ Karen

11/21- DNW ↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW) No weigh Friday but it was a good day yesterday. Ended up with OMAD because the meal would be more calorie/carb heavy. That kept it at goal. 30 minutes of planned exercise. Horrible sleep last night due to no blood getting to my feet and toes (again). This happens several days per week. I am thankful and grateful that the past couple of nights have been good but last night was truly a nightmare. I need the opposite of elevating them and it seems there is nothing that can be done unless I just stand upright in the middle of the room and try to sleep! I loved seeing all the family photos this morning. Thank youΒ @Chapter _3Β andΒ @_JeffreyD_Β .

πŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒ 11/22- 179.6 ↔️ (Trend Weight:180.8 ) Well, I was hoping for a better drop since my last weigh-in two days ago but apparently not. I was not feeling very well yesterday. Couldn’t put my finger on it but I felt too weak to even exercise. I was proud of my son though. He exercised without me and he has never done that before! I really couldn’t eat until pretty late last night when the glucose began dropping and I had to, quite quickly. Although I pre-logged, it was too elaborate of a dinner for how I felt and how quickly I needed it. I ended up with a can of soup and too many Ritz crackers. It seems like I gained last time I ate soup too. Anyhow, my calories for the day were 936, my carbs over goal but still under what a β€œnormal person” eats. I don’t always understand the numbers but I’m moving on and hoping for more cooperation from my body today. I will try to get my exercise in since I’m feeling somewhat better but not quite 100% yet.

    🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 315 (my 245th).

    Goals for every round;

11/23 139.2 (trend 139.6) No structured walking, travelled back home & rain all day.

Please join us starting on 17 November for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 315. Anyone can join us at any time during the round.

Join us! If we stay mindful, weΒ canΒ do this,Β youΒ can do this.

Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!

Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. You have only one hour to edit your post. Post every day to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non-scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share. Make the board your own - track what is important for YOUR JOURNEY.Β

FOR NEWBIES – You may find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in your device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all the posts.

I ate 1,000 calories in cheese, salami and crackers after 9:00 pm last night. Shame. The rest of the day was just fine.

I changed the long-dead gaskets on my smoker yesterday. It took two hours. They make it look so easy on the video.

Another trip to the Dr. with DW for an injection into her vocal cord muscles for Spasmodic Dysphonia. Last shot 2 weeks ago did not work. Missed target. Praying for a better result this time. This whole situation is stressful for us.

    SW Rnd 315: 146.7

11/17: 146.3: I mostly stayed on track yesterday. Overall, it was a good weekend that didn't derail me. I got a lot of cleaning done and made some soup for throughout the week. I squeezed in a shorter than usual walk, but at least it was something.

11/18: 148.8. What?!? Very disappointed with this number, I have no explanation for it. My body fluctuates so much for no reason.

11/19: 147.7. I did lots of walking, ate well, not much snacking. I was hoping the scale would go back down a little more, but glad it's a better number than yesterday.

11/20: 149.6. I do not feel like this is deserved. I had some tortilla chips with my taco soup (homemade) for a bit of extra sodium and some dried pineapple. Other than that, I have no idea what happened, as I stayed within my target and didn't have anything that I "shouldn't". Oh well, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

    11/21: 148.1.

11/22: 148.9. To be honest, I'm feeling a bit deflated with my lack of progress. I gained the weight back so quickly, but now it's not budging while trying to get it down. I really thought I ate well the last several days. Exercise is a bit low, since my leg pain is preventing me from doing much other than walking. I have been pretty stressed lately, with one of my boys seemingly going through some sort of obnoxious phase (at least I hope it's just a phase...), but blaming it on stress seems like a bit of a cop out. I honestly don't know what I can do differently to see results.

11/23: 148.4. I hung out with one of my little guys yesterday, the other one was spending some time with Gramma. Lots of walking to playgrounds. Got caught in the rain a couple of times. I need to find time to make a quinoa salad for the week.

11/17Β Β 134.0Β Β Great Greek yesterday. Got enough undressed salad and grilled meat for two more days.Β

11/18Β Β 134.0 Today is DH’s 77th birthday.Β Β We’re going to lunch with our blind friend. Juan’s Flaming Fajitas for lunch and a margarita AND much needed RAIN! IT POURED!!

    11/19Β Β 134.0Β Β Community bingo tonightΒ

11/20Β Β 136.0??? Delayed reaction to fajita and margarita lunch on Tuesday? Or Blackberry Crown Royal last night? Or not drinking enough water as the temperature has dropped significantly. Tonight is community Thanksgiving dinner and I am taking my own meal because I don’t like sugar coated ham or turkey.

11/21Β Β 136.0 Eating was good but I had 2 vodka/Bubly cocktails at dinner last night. WOW, this has turned into an alcohol drinking week!Β

11/22Β Β 134.5Β Β No alcohol, DH went to lunch with a friend (they both love Golden Corral) I finished my leftovers from Tuesday. AND I have a cold again! What the heck? I haven’t been sick in years and this is twice in less than 3 months. I really need to get back to strict keto/low carb.Β

11/23Β Β 133.5. I have a cold and just wasn’t hungry. Me made sourdough toast with 1/4 avocado at noon and 12 oz of high protein/low carb shake at 5pm. Awake since 3 something this morning, got up at 4:06! This is ridiculous!Β

11/23 - 189.8/ πŸ’§πŸŽ―yesterday was a long day. Leaving my sisters home and heading back across the country is getting harder each time I go home. I was last home before this in March the difference in my dad from then to now is so saddening. I hate how dementia robs people of themselves. Unless something comes up I will not be home again till March/April. Mom is ageing quickly now too. She has gone from an energic woman who no one thought was that old to an older woman. I was shocked at how much she has aged, I also realize that really she is just looking her age now.

    ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND: 180.2

11/21- DNW ↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW)

11/22- 179.6 ↔️ (Trend Weight:180.8 ) Well, I was hoping for a better drop since my last weigh-in two days ago but apparently not. I will try to get my exercise in since I’m feeling somewhat better but not quite 100% yet.

πŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒ11/23 – 178.2 βœ… (Trend Weight – 180.6) I will be attending two Thanksgiving dinners this coming week. One on the traditional day of the 27th, and the family Feast held at my house on the 29th when everyone can attend. This week I also have a travel day (Thanksgiving food shopping) one day, maybe tomorrow, and a birthday for my DGS on yet another day (maybe next Sunday). This is not going to be an easy week to uphold any losses I’ve accomplished of late. I must hold on, tooth and nail, as best as I can. December is going to be even harder!

    11/24-xxxxx- (Trend Weight: xxxxx)

    11/25-xxxxx- (Trend Weight: xxxxx)

    11/26-xxxxx- (Trend Weight: xxxxx)

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
