I'm still 149. I do like the accountability of posting my weight every day!

Yes, we have to adjust our fitness routines with age. Any movement is good movement if we aren't hurting ourselves.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. 5'2" 65yo, SE BC Canada. I am here to lose weight, like all of us.
Day 01—12/01 -- 137.8 - I lost 1 total pound in the last 100, and put it back on last night, sigh.
Day 02—12/02 — 137.8 - 3 days in a row I missed breakfast. Today I will make sure to have something. I have been peeling beets etc. in the mornings and then wham, it is time to get to work. I still have a bucket of carrots to deal with. Day off tomorrow, my one day this week, so I will get to work on processing those. I think that I am going to have my once per 3 months ribs tonight. I will pay the piper early in this 100.
Day 03—12/03 — 137.2 - Poof to my one day off, I have to go into work argh, no day off until next Tuesday.
Day 04—12/04 — 137.4 - Not too much fallout from the Ribs. My new strategy is to eat them super early, i.e. 12 hours + before my weigh in the next morning. They were super delicious, Mole, frozen pre-cooked. I have also gotten back to having some sort of breakfast, I was off of that for several days and gained weight even though I felt lean. A little more than halfway through my 11 days straight at work groan. Pacing myself. I WILL get my 2 days off in a row next week : - )
Day 05—12/05 — 137.4 - 5 more days until I can get into a forest/trail. I am eager for that reset, but I am getting through these 11 days without a day off. I have been holding back on expressing my dismay at the "side deal" that the other girls are playing at my expense. Once I calm down enough about it I will address it. I think that I will also ask them to not speak in their Filipino language right in front of me as they do their conniving. It is what it is though, and I will have to put my foot down which is not my way at all. On another note, I have made an application to join the Eagles Club and had a meeting/interview last night. Thinking forward to my next chapter, and I appreciate all that they do for the community and I feel like I have skills to contribute.

Good Morning!
@Piedpiper2 , that's what its all about...accountability. Mostly to ourselves but the support from others is the icing on the cake, as they say. 🙂
Day 01—12/01— 161 - Another salty meal yesterday.....shrimp basket....got me a bit bloated. Today I had a turkey club salad from Saladworks....that was my main meal. Spent the day decorating and still haven't found my tree stand. I have a feeling it's in the bottom of the ornament box...which means I have to take all the ornaments out to get to it. Not very bright of me....I'll know better next time.
Day 02—12/02— 161.4 - UGH! I really wanted to see the end of the 160s. Still, it's my own fault. But started today with an Atkins shake. Lunch looks like a tuna sandwich and dinner, tilapia. Feeling a little down today....hope I can get the ambition to finish decorating.
Day 03—12/03— 159.2- I don't know what happened to me yesterday...felt sick to my stomach. Don't think it was anything I ate (had exactly what I said I was going to yesterday). As a result I didn't get anything accomplished except on the phone. Today I feel better. Had a granola bar for breakfast.…the rest of today's food is undecided, atm.
Day 04—12/04— 158 - Nice to see that number! I am having a small mug of vegetable juice for breakfast. Not sure about the rest of the day... maybe a hard-boiled egg sandwich for lunch. Dinner could be tilapia again….I have a good dry rub for it. Never found the tree stand, which is maddening! I had to order a new one, which wasn't in the budget. Oh well. If I eventually find it, I'll give it to my daughter.
Day 05—12/05— Forgot to weigh!! - I am going to have to set a reminder in the morning so I STOP forgetting!
I got out and did a little shopping yesterday...was good to do that. I miss shopping. There is one department store left in the local mall that I don't think will ever go out of business. Its a traditional one with decent prices. Its fun to shop there. And I got in some steps. 🚶♀️
I had another small glass of vegetable juice for breakfast. Lunch will be egg salad with bacon. Leftover cheeseburger for dinner.

Challenge Starting Weight: 147.0 lbs
Challenge Goal Weight: 142 lbs
Ultimate Goal Weight: 135 lbs
Day 1—12/01—147.0 Gained an ounce since the beginning of the last challenge. But I’m not giving up! Hence, here I am.
Day 02—12/02—146.8 Have been dealing with a sore throat, cough and low energy since last Friday. So annoying.
Day 03—12/03—146.2 I’ve been contemplating and stressing about putting up our big Christmas tree. Kaya is still a pup and gets into everything. Visions of her pulling and breaking ornaments, or pulling down the whole tree have been consuming my thoughts. I've decided to take the pressure off by buying a 3-foot prelit tree which I will decorate and put on our side table. I have enough decorations to make our home feel festive without the tall tree.
Day 04—12/04—146.0 (Trend weight 146.6). Have been eating less, a silver lining to having a sore throat, I guess. At least I’m feeling a bit better as we’re scheduled for family photos up on the mountain at sunset today, a gift from my daughter. I don’t love being in front of the camera, I always feel like I take terrible pictures and don’t want to ruin the shot (LOL), but I know I’d regret not having pictures with my family so I will do it.
Day 05—12/05—147.8 Whoa what a jump. Must be because of the pasta dinner last night.

100 Days of Weighing In #25 ^^^^^ December 01, 2025 through March 10, 2026
My Name is Donna, Age 65. I am 5’5” tall & I live in Northern Michigan USA. My goal this round will put me weighing less than I have in exactly 20 years and in my mid 40’s. Seems INSURMOUNTABLE and IMPOSSIBLE but never say never, right? My highest weight was 253 and I started MFP weighing 235. I started the 100 day challenges at 196.2. I will continue with my little experiment of losing weight in nibbles and bite-sized pieces. I started the experiment in round #23 and so far I have never completely reached total goal, but have done quite well nonetheless in both #23 and #24. Better than usual for sure. Oh, but December is tough and could put me in a catch-up game for most of this challenge so I must be very careful. And winter is not usually successful for me in general either. There are so many extra things to contend with. However, if I lay my excuses aside, avoid self-sabotage and expect no more than those bite-sized pieces of weight loss, I know it will add up. Here’s to being more fit and in better health by the end of this challenge!
Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine with you. I am grateful for you all.

CURRENT WEEK:
Day 01—12/01-- DNW↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW)
Day 02—12/02—179.6 ❌ (Trend Weight: 179.8)
Day 03—12/03—179.8 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 179.8)
Day 04—12/04—179.4 ✅ (Trend Weight: 179.8) I’m happy to see this drop. Ended up out to dinner yesterday with DGS, DS and Foodie DD after the hair salon with DGS. They decided on going to the local Pub so the food was your typical Pub food (for me it was chicken strips and fries). I kept it simple and since the bar does not offer desserts or lots of extras, it was a pretty straight-forward meal. I stayed away from all the deep-fried appetizers. They had their sodas, I stuck to water with a lemon slice. I kept the rest of the day good in order to keep it under my calorie allotment. I finally got back on the stationary bike for some exercise last night. Feeling back in control again today. A drop on the scale is always encouraging. DD and DGS arrived at 3:30 for the usual weekend schedule. I must stay strong around all her fancy chocolates of late.
🎅🎅🎅🎅 Day 05—12/05— DNW ↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW) No weigh Friday. I had a good day yesterday but no exercise. Meals were on target. I didn’t sleep well but tried. I think it’s mostly because I have to get in bed earlier than my usual schedule on Thursdays for school and I’m so used to staying up late that I couldn’t sleep. But no snacks because of early bed time so there is that. Tummy feels good due to TMI that I missed yesterday. Overall, I’m starting today feeling good.

@frankwbrown 0.1 daily has been my exact goal since challenge #23. It has helped me psychologically when I break it down into small increments like that.
@dawnbgethealthy I'm not sure what you meant by "side deal" at work. Did I miss something? In any case, it sounds completely frustrating and nothing you deserve! I hope it's resolved. I love the idea of the Eagles Club!
@age_is_just_a_number What a great video! Thanks for that!

speaking of youtube videos. I watched the one below today. I recently discovered Jeff Nippard, he is a Canadian, fellow Torontonian and a natural body builder. I'm not interested in body building, but he applies a scientific approach to his content. In this video, Jeff and Dr. Mike Israetel rank 19 fitness topics as either overrated or underrated. The topics are split up into three categories: training, nutrition, and hot fitness topics.
At minute 8:12 they talk about diet breaks and that after losing 10% of body weight they both are commend taking a break, eating at maintenance for 2 weeks to a few months, before going back to a deficit.
Of course, I thought to myself… wait a minute, that's what I've done in 2025 without doing it on purpose.
Started at 155
Lost 15 or 10%
hovered between 138-142 for three months, because I was eating more than I had been.
Now, more consistently eating at a deficit and the scale is going down as quickly as it was in January-February, when I first started.

Day 1, Mon, 91.1 kg, 30 minutes running on the treadmill, I didn’t time my eating well so I was hungry in the evening, which resulted in eating too much
Day 2, Tue, 91.3 kg, 30 minutes running on the treadmill. In the last 6 months I have indulged in buying large bags of potato chips. I sampled all the brands and most of the flavours. I blame some of my weight gain due to those chips. I have decided to ban myself from all potato chips until I reach goal weight. I don’t think that is too onerous a task. Back in the day a 40 gram bag was common, now they are hard to find. 150 gram bags are where it’s at. Due to indulging today I can expect a gain tomorrow.
Day 3, Wed, 91.7 kg, 30 minutes running on the treadmill
Day 4, Thu, 91.8 kg, 30 minutes running on the treadmill. Eating was a tad high.
Day 5, Fri, 91.3 kg, 30 minutes running on the treadmill. I failed at keeping food at a certain limit. I need to work on my timing on when I have food. Too early is bad.
Day 6, Sat, 91.5 kg

Learned that if you wrap it in Saran Wrap tightly and place in zip lock that it does well. When thawing leave in the Saran Wrap is key. DH has been asking for homemade cookies all week. So I also baked pumpkin cookies. We have lots and lots of tempting treats in the house. I limited myself to 2 cookies yesterday … amazing!
Book Club holiday brunch this morning. Looking forward to our wrapped book exchange, quiche, and our discussion about this month's book … "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" by Dr. Seuss. 💓

@dawnbgethealthy It is wonderful to find a group like the Eagles Club to interact with others and feel good about volunteering. Are your co-workers trying to take advantage of your soon to be fewer days per week??? I hope that you do get your way. Are you shooting for 2 days in a row off each week? My brother has Saturday and Monday off which I always felt wasn't fair but then he goes in most Saturdays and works overtime for the extra pay. He like you works a ton.
@age_is_just_a_number Interesting video. One of the things they say is while losing weight make sure to build muscle (not body builder muscle) especially as we get older. I need to attend my Strength Training (hand weights and body weight exercises) classes again on Mon & Fri … I skipped most of October and November and continued to let it slide in December. Thanks for the reminder!!
How to minimize muscle loss (AI Response … but good summary)
- Prioritize Protein: Increase protein intake (lean meats, dairy, legumes) to help spare muscle tissue, ensuring adequate intake throughout the day.
- Strength Train: Lift weights or do bodyweight exercises (squats, push-ups) 2-3 times a week to challenge muscles and tell your body to keep them.
- Create a Small Deficit: Aim for a slow, sustainable weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week (a 300-500 calorie deficit) to prevent drastic muscle breakdown.
- Strategic Cardio: Add steady-state cardio (walking, cycling) or HIIT, but don't overdo it, as excessive cardio can contribute to muscle loss.
- Don't Skip Meals: Skipping meals can trigger your body to use muscle for energy;consistent eating is key.
- Focus on Whole Foods: Emphasize nutrient-dense whole foods for sustained energy and health.

really lazy day yesterday. Scale this morning was up to 137.2 (no TMI). We are visiting our youngest son today. We are ordering pizza for lunch. I convinced my husband to bring cut up veggies as well. It makes the meal so much more nutritious and filling. I'll update my spreadsheet tomorrow.

Good Morning! Hope everyone's weekend is going great!
@age_is_just_a_number , that's a great video! I knew what happens, but not all the "whys". Thank you for sharing that!

Day 06—12/06— 157.8 - I had one of those nights where I fall asleep at 1 and wake up at 5 and cant fall back to sleep. Tossed and turned till 7 and gave up. So I had my cup of vegetable juice, got out my ice maker and started that going. Waiting for delivery of my tree stand so I can get my tree up. I did get a delivery of Siggis peach yogurt for future breakfasts. Lunch will be cheeseburger. Dinner...not sure yet.

I had a great spin bike session on Thursday using this gorgeous Youtube ride in the South Tyrol. Spectacular scenery! I also did some walks during my breaks.
Yesterday I did a functional strength/mobility workout at the end of the day.
Busy day today: I can rearrange my furniture and do a deep cleaning now that they've finished our balcony. There are still major renovations going on outside, but at least I can get my outdoor furniture out of the living room. Everything has been crammed tight in here for about 4 months.

Day 04—12/04—179.4 ✅ (Trend Weight: 179.8)
Day 05—12/05— DNW ↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW) No weigh Friday.
🎅🎅🎅🎅 Day 06—12/06—176.4 ✅ (Trend Weight: 179.2) I was in shock to see the scale this morning even though I managed to string two good days in a row. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that 6 in my scale number. This is my lowest weight in 7 years (Sept 2018)!!! I won’t hang onto it today as Foodie DD, DGS #3 and #4 (ages 8 and almost 9) are going out of town today for an early birthday gift from me. We are going to the movies to see Zootopia and then to their requested lunch/dinner of pizza. I’ll try to keep it under control. I’m not much of a pizza fan anymore UNTIL it’s fresh while sitting in the restaurant which means that today will be a challenge. Back to the numbers—I’ll lose them today, but once I touch a number it is mine for the taking. Either I grab it while it’s so close, or I don’t. When I get home, I will take it back asap. Upcoming is two birthday parties for these boys and all those beautiful and tempting holidays filled with treats. Hello December!

I have made an application to join the Eagles Club and had a meeting/interview last night. Thinking forward to my next chapter, and I appreciate all that they do for the community and I feel like I have skills to contribute.
Day 06—12/06 — 137.4 - I apologize for my work rant yesterday, I know that those that still work always have things come up. The girls that I work with have 5 and 4 others in their households working, and I am on my own so it stings when they mess with my schedule/income for their benefit but at my expense. Day 9 of my 11 straight at my primary job. I worked 2 jobs yesterday and the second one at the rest home had us short staffed so my shift was 1/2 hour longer than usual. They put out food for us each shift, but I rarely have more than one small bite of it, mostly because food makes me tired and I have to keep going. Last night I packed up some mac and cheese with ham in it and brought it home so that the comatose wouldn't happen until later lol. I ate much later than I have been lately. I am on 3 split shifts the next 3, so dinner will be later and I doubt that I will reach my goal target this week.
Day 07— 12/07 —
Week 1 Start Weight: 137.8
Week 1 Goal: 136.8
Week 1 Actual Weight: Once every 100 days Ribs eaten.

Day 06—12/06—DNW Forgot to weigh this morning. Feeling better today so I hit the ground running.

such a great feeling when any renovations are done. I always feel like we doubled the space afterward.

i know what you mean re “but once I touch a number it is mine for the taking. ”. I feel the same way when I have a new low number. At that moment, I know it is possible. It might not still be there tomorrow, but maybe next week or the week after that. Then it will be there ‘for real’ and I'll be on my way to chasing the next lower number.
Oh the mind games we play with ourselves.

Take care of yourself. Work politics is never easy. I hope things calm down for you in this regard. If you don't meet you goal this week, then you'll work toward it next week.
