If so, would you be interested in watching her Life Class starting Oct 10? And then maybe discussing it?
I'm inSo there it is….vulnerability.
Vulnerability = toughest workout, scarier than the thought of training for a triathalon.

I forgot to share some good news.
While this may sound really weird to some, we just found out today that my husband will be walking his daughter down the isle.
So very very cool! Happy for you and Steve as you share this change in plans. Warms my heart.

Morning Ladies!
I was wondering if we have a new challenge. I read through the old posts, but I may have missed it. I need to get my butt back on track and I need incentive.
Thanks,

... a new challenge.
Good Morning!

I don't think a group challenge was identified. But then again, I'm old and forgetful.
I'm sticking with weight loss (10lbs) as my challenge.0 -
So I am reading this book for the second time....needing a reminder. Thought I'd share this portion as it seemed to go hand-in-hand with things we have been chatting about lately.
"First and foremost, focus your attention on learning to interpret life’s challenges symbolically. Find a meaning in them. Think and feel how they connect to your health. Bring attention everyday to the challenges you face and to how your mind and spirit respond to them. Evaluate the spiritual and biological activity that occurs as a consequence.
Second, think of yourself at all times as an energy being as well as a physical one. The energy part of yourself is the transmitter and recorder of all your thoughts and interactions. Keep in mind at all times that your biography becomes your biology." p. 57-58 Anatomy of the Spirit, Caroline Myss, Ph.D.0 -

If I drop my baggage does it count for the weigh in?
Weekends seem to be my downfall; always have been. Last weekend did well by preparing food and getting a hike in. This weekend I do have lower calorie meals planned. It may be more challenging to get the workout in. So a smart person would get on the treadmill this afternoon..... ok, no more procrastinating..... treadmill here I come.0 -
Good afternoon to everyone. I got to babysit my grandson for the afternoon, it was so nice, then he pooped the biggest, softest poop that I thought would never end , I was wiping and grabbing wipes like a woman putting out a fire!!!!! I loved it. Thanks for all the support, those off days just suck for everyone. I know I'm not alone. Lori, thank you for knowing so much more than me, you are very knowledgable. and I can't even spell it!!!!:noway: Denise, thank you, even tho I'm sure you would have rather been resting, do you feel better? Marianne, in fear of you literally grabbing me by my bootstraps, I am pulling it together, lol, and Evelyn, even tho you hardly know me, thank you for being a friend!!!!!! Ok, new challenge????? Is 10lbs by Thanksgiving good, or do you think I could do it by my birthday, Nov.2??What is everyone else doing?0

At this point I'm sweet talking to my scale every morning in the hopes that it sweet talks back to me on Friday.
Baby steps for me until I start seeing results.
And I'm already talking to myself that it might take one more week to see results.
No excuses, must keep going!
Thats my challenge!
:noway:0 -
I'm feeling fat today,Evelyn. I never thought to talk to my scale, I guess kicking it was not the way to go!!!!!:grumble: Friday really comes around fast, doesn't it???0

So why would national tv station break in with IMPORTANT news because Steve Jobs died???? Isn't Breaking News reserved for important stuff? I'm not trying to be cold toward the death of a human but I do not think it warrants a Breaking News.0

Hey everyone,
Red, I would be in for the 10 lbs by Thanksgiving.. That is about 7 weeks away..
At 'Curves" I am in a contest for the month of October. Everyone puts in $5 and whoever loses the most weight by Nov 1st wins
all... money can be a good motivator. I think there is only 5 people though.
Can you believe the Holidays are right around the corner??
Have a good night all...

I'm in. That is after I finish off the bag of candy corn I bought. It was the small bag so I am improving. By now, any other year, I would have been through at least 2 bags, working on my third. I used to buy 2 big bags at once.
I have been tough on myself lately and I know I need to let up some. That is why I bought the candy. I want to prove to myself that I can handle the things that I know in the past were my biggest downfalls. I have been too obsessive about the weight loss thing. This is going to be a life long thing, not a quick fix. I have to get that through my head.
Tonight though, my head is about to explode. Between my cold and the headache I have I can't think straight. Tomorrow I will be back to my old self. Driving you all crazy and asking crazy questions.
New challenge...10 lbs by Thanksgiving...I'm in.
Have a great evening all!!

Hi Bellas
Sorry I've been quiet. Headache day 4. Last 2days I have been @ 2 seminars, and not eating right, but trying. Lunch yesterday, piece of turkey sub2" long, chips& diet coke. 3 months ago I would have been thrilled with the junk. Tuesday was a morning class and was starved when I left so I grabbed a mc Donald's berry smoothie. Thought about the Carmel apple parfait, but passed. Then that night hubby & I walked to Mcdonald's & I had ice cream cone. I am in for the challenge. Leaving for work, will check in later. Lori, Marianne & Denise you always say the most uplifting things when someone is down as your advice for red the other day. Hugs and a good day to all

As for the holidays, not such a big fan. My anxiety level ALWAYS peaks during this time. Not just the normal anxiety, the "crawl under the covers, hide in my shell, Oh, I hate holidays, please don't make me go, it's my time off of work leave me alone type anxiety. Yes, I know....very negative. I've tried and tried over the holidays to enjoy and set everything aside but I think that just makes it worse. I prayer every year to embrace the warmth but it just never happens.0 -

I agree with you both. I hate the holidays. I love Halloween, and I dont mind Thanksgiving, but it is all down hill after that. And not for food reasons either. Ken is already talking about Thanksgiving and how bad it is for him but not for me. See, I don't like Turkey or sweet potatoes. I cook that meal for the family and don't eat most of it. It is the only holiday that I have everyone over.
The rest of them I don't celebrate. We are Jewish. It takes a lot of stress off of me. Problem is, my girls and their families aren't Jewish so they do celebrate them. That is where it gets sticky. Oh well, we manage each year to get through it and then move on to the New Year. Each year we tell ourselves it will be a better year and low and behold it is the same ole S**t.
Dang, who started the holiday crap already....it isn't even Halloween!!
Marianne, your 223 is not coming tomorrow....you are going to see 222! 223 is not even on your scale so don't try to find it!
Everyone not feeling well. Get better, I insist. I am dealing with this cold and a major headache but it isn't going to get me down. Drugs are the word of choice today and lots of them. Just kidding, I don't like to take anything, but I have been taking cold medicine this week. It is helping and I am feeling much better. So everyone else has to start feeling better too.
Evelyn, Your daughter is on my mind. Hopefully she will see that this is a good move for her and take some time for just her. Men, Can't live with them, can't live without them.
Karen, Good Luck with the Curves challenge. You have the Sisters right here to help you win that money. Then you can take us all out for Ice cream!!
OK, it is that time of day here in Ohio. I need to get my butt in gear. Have a super fantastic day and happy healthy eating to all of us!!

Marianne, I so agree and relate to your sentiments about holidays. We have each other to lean on this year. Thank GOD!!!!
Anyone have tips on easing heat flashes? Have had them pretty consistently for the past two weeks. They seem to hit between 10-11 a.m. every day. I realized that if I had caffeine that day the heat flash was worse, so I stopped caffeine in tea and coffee. Perhaps the onset of my period is the reason I didn't get one today, but have a slight hint of a migraine, which I took something to manage. Are there any other triggers (foods, drinks, habits) that you are aware of that may effect heat flashes one way or the other. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Have considered throwing myself in the freezer, but would need to make room first. Move over frozen veggies, I'm diving in!
Have a good one,
Lori0 -

Kim, hope you are feeling better. You are doing a fabulous job managing work and eating options. Cheering you on!
