(OPEN) 21 Days No Junk Food Challenge!

I'm not eliminating peanut butter. I add a tbs or 2 to my protein shakes every day. But it's not one of my "binge" foods. My problem is carby snacky things like crackers and pretzels and chocolate things like m&ms, etc. So I am eliminating all wheat and sugar to avoid any potential temptations.0

Is (open) meaning for anyone or is this a club only type thing? I would love to do it. I need some motivation to get the scale moving. I'm also new to the MFP site. So I'm learning my way around.......0

I tried to do this on Oct 1 and just made it 5 days before I gave in to cookies - and the little candy bars at work. So far, so good today and I'd love to be able to do that for 21 days.
On the topic of peanut butter - I don't have issues with it - it's what I have the peanut butter on that's "bad."0 -

This challenge is open to everyone! :flowerforyou:
If you join past October 10 (today), it will be shorter than 21 days, because the challenge will close on October 31, but it is still open to all.0 -
My friend and I do a monthly challenge-we offer up a food or type of food for the month, or create a goal. For example, we might give up fast food for the whole month, or add 5 minutes of interval work to our workout when we can workout together. So it's not always about depriving ourselves of something-it's also about upping our workouts so we get stronger and more fit.
Love this challenge-we may have to do it for out November challenge!
Thanks !0 -
I GIVE UP ALL SWEETS FOR LENT (6 WEEKS) SO I COULD DO THIS...I JUST DONT WANT TO. HAPPY HALLOWEEN ALL! :drinker:0

Chuglehr.... that sounds like a very good plan!!0

On day 2 today and attempting to follow the list as is (not even allowing peanut butter which I already miss, surprisingly more than chocolate) and not having any snack/meal bars either (I rely on those too much sometimes for a quick snack or mini meal when I should be eating real food). I saved a lot of money on groceries this week also. I bought sunflower seed butter and may buy some almond butter this week as well. Fruit served different ways has been a great dessert replacer for me so far.0

Not too late to join! I need to go back and edit the first post to let people know that it's still open. :drinker:0 -
Awesome! This will be a big challenge for me cuz I have always had a major sweet tooth! Good luck to everyone!0

day 1, did ok! yay :flowerforyou:0

count me innn..
I got this..... oh yeah......0 -
Survived day 1 - night 1 to be more precise as that is my binge time! Even though there are five blocks of my favourite chocolate (top deck) in the house I didnt touch it, even though my kids had some
I have decided to focus my 21 days on chocolate and muesli bars as those are the things I can't have in moderation. I take my kids to burger king or mcds on a friday and was going to skip having the odd chip of theirs, but as i can have 3-5 chips and stop i am not sure whether that is an issue or not. will see. if i can make 21 days no choc or muesli bars i will be amazed!0 -
Leah, of course I am in!
This is a SERIOUS challenge for me as I don't think there has been a day in the last 10 years where I haven't eaten chocolate.0 -
I'm in but I am a day behind (i had a few unhealthy snacks today, I will just push until Nov 1st)0

I did great today so far. Night time is definitely my downfall so it's going to be a challenge getting through the next few hours.0

Guerita - I'm still eating protein bars and other things like that which include chocolate. That's just me though - I am staying away from candy and chocolate bars that are purely junk.0
