Yikes, it sounds like something I could not do. But I'll be interested to see how it works for you. Good luck!3

If you like it go for it.... but if this is the same thing I tried years ago, I can't recommend it.
I think I'm old enough now to know that there is no such thing as a quick fix diet. Eating well and exercising over a long period of time will do the trick, it just isn't quick or specially flashy!5 -
As soon as you go off it you will gain the weight back real quick!
It is graet to keep the soup onhand for low to no calorie snacks
when you get hungry.2 -
it made me lose my mind and I ate an entire tub of frosting.............with my hand!! :blushing:29

Oh my goodness....a tub of frosting?? OOOOOooooo I love it! I'm determined not to gain the weight back! I've been doin real good with increased exercise but the scale isn't moving for me right now! I just wanted a easy kick in the butt.....you guys can friend me if you wanna watch how I do.... :flowerforyou:4

I tried it and didn't lose much weight and it did make me go a little crazy by the end of it! I don't think I would ever do it again but the soup is good for a low cal meal here and there!2

Haha, that made me laugh...but sounds like something that would happen to me if I tried something like this. But that's just me!2 -
Thinking about trying it, not so much to lose the "10 lbs" that it says you'll lose, but to cleanse my system and try to get things running properly. The weight loss would be a bonus, but I don't have the time or the energy lately to exercise as much as I should, so I'm concerned about gaining anything back I might have lost and feeling defeated1

Exactly what is it1

Oh wow. I didn't know this was still around. I tried it in college over 20 years ago. By day three, the smell of it made me nauseated. And what little I lost, I gained right back. It was a miserable 7 days.5

No. Just no. Why not eat regular food at a moderate deficit?10

To be fair, the thread is 5 1/2 years old.

Another zombie thread! Wonder if OP got to goal?! Probably not and an excellent illustration to the newbie fad fixers as to why at least!

I did this diet back when it was called the Dolly Parton diet....why does this low protein, low fat relic from the 1980's refuse to die?
My results - very gassy and hungry often (could only stomach so much soup). Because it was low calorie I lost weight (no magic there).....then I stopped the diet & gained all the weight back.
Weight loss is about calories. Because you have very low fat and most days are low protein....of course you are going to lose weight. But you could also lose weight eating foods you love.rosieraven wrote: »Thinking about trying it, not so much to lose the "10 lbs" that it says you'll lose, but to cleanse my system and try to get things running properly. This diet predates the latest cleanse fad.......so someone just stuck a new label on it. Old fashioned diets refuse to die because they can almost always be recycled.
ZOMBIE THREAD......sorry. @soniaghill......don't bother to google this ....it's awful.1 -
ZOMBIES OMG!!!!!!!
Now I suddenly feel like eating an entire tub of frosting with my bare hands. Why????!!!6 -

I did it once and promptly gained it back plus a couple more lbs! Don't count on it!1
-
Op - did it work????2

Back in the 80's, my recruiter handed me a printout of the Cabbage Soup Diet. I have no recollection of if I tried it or not. The weight standards were raised while I was in the military and it turned out I never needed to lose that weight in the first place >.<0

I ate a whole cabbage one night, the next morning I had gained 4 lbs!!!!!1
-
That's because one whole cabbage is 14k calories.1

Wha??? hahaha, no. no it really isn't. 2.5lbs of cabbage (standard head) is 296 calories. You'd have to eat around 120lbs of cabbage to get 14,000 calories.7 -
I was kidding! I figured that poster was too. At least I hope she was4

Oh good, haha! I automatically assumed that there was just a really really dodgy entry in the database!2
