I have a little black cat sleeping on my left ankle.0

3 years ago I bought a sweat outfit that had a star on the hip of the pants and a star on the sleeve of the top. So for my 40th bday I decided I wanted a star tattoo. One star. It ended up being this in my picture. I LOVE it and want more.0

There is one more big star that my panties are hiding.....there is a total of 17 stars.0 -
I have 5 right now, but plan for more work to be done on them.
Left side of my stomach: A piranha (from when I was in much better shape than I am now & you should have seen it when I was preggers lol)
Right Ankle: Mickey & Minnie
Lower Back: Ivy leaves in the shape of a heart with my oldest son's name in it.
Back of neck: Wicked with some tribal & a heart
Chest: Clouds with 2 cherubs holding keys with my oldest sons' initials on it & a keyhole above my heart. (Now I have 2 more kids to add!)0 -
Great idea Lisa!
I have 3 so far.
I have Love on my left wrist. Its was a reminder to love myself too.
Next is a tree. It starts at my shoulder blades and ends at the base of my neck. 3 of the leaves are colored with my kids birthstone colors.
The most recent one I got was for my halfway to goal reward. Its there on my pic. Its a feather and Nothing is Impossible. Its sort of my motto anymore and I wanted it near my heart and visible so I can remember it when I need it.
I've got a couple of others rattling around but not for sure yet.0 -
My first one was a butterfly on my hip (I was 17 don't judge). I have a quote "Love as thou wilt" on my neck, sparrows on my shoulder blades with Nana & Papa, my son's name on my foot, a flower with gaelic writing on my ribs, my nickname with cherries on my ankle and an umbrella with my area code on my forearm! Oh and a heart on my bum! Haha
They're all super personal and cheesy haha! I'm getting a zombie pin up girl and a few more as well!0 -
I have two hearts on my left wrist, which started out with no meaning behind it, and seems to take on new meanings in each phase of my life which is really interesting to me. I love it
For my next tattoo, I want something with the theme of Hope. It's been calling out to me a lot recently and I'm drawing towards the word & symbolism. But I don't think I just want the word Hope. So if I come across something that represents this for me, it's definitely going to be my next tattoo.0 -
I just have one on my right shoulder. "Chief Wahoo", the Cleveland Indians mascot...0

Three now and tentative plans for several more
A heart w/ my daughters name and a shamrock w/my son's on my back
A celtic knot w/my wedding date on my right shoulder
A knotwork thistle on my left wrist/forearm to cover some scarring/burns
Planning
I've been wanting Carpe Diem on my right wrist for some time now, but I'm having a hard time really committing to it. It's simple, inexpensive, and won't take much design work, but I am not 100% sold on whether or not I really want it.
A vine of some sort for the right ankle/calf, with a leaf/flower added for the dates that I achieve certain goals on my life "to do" list (associate's degree, bachelor's, masters, half-marathon, full marathon, warrior dash, 50K, etc... )
Working on a design for my right arm to cover some scarring/burns. Most likely will be celtic in theme (most of mine are) and incorporate lyrics from a favorite song
Contemplating something for my left hip or rib cage if/when I get to a point that I am satisfied with my appearance, but unsure right now if I will do it.0 -
I have ZERO but as you can tell by me reading all of these I find them extremely fascinating. I have just never been able to come up with MY OWN ORIGINAL idea. Tatoos tell a story and I'm just not sure what story I would want mine to tell. I find all of these tatoos very interesting.0

I have 7. Very addicting, but I'm a school teacher so they're so strategically placed. A sweater and a pair of slacks will cover them all up, but when I go out and they're showing above my stilletos I love it!
I have... A celtic infinity with my sister. celtic trinity knot to show the three stages of a woman's life, surrounded by Irish Step Dancing costume embroidery, I have the word "kismet" surrounded with music notes with my boyfriend Manny, I have a shamrock (my first) on my foot, my Thyroid Cancer ribbon (survivor 3 years now), and the words "karma karma karma karma karma" in a circle to show how what goes around comes around. If you want good, do good!!!
rock on with your weight loss and enjoy every minute of your success!!!0 -
I don't have one yet, but I am getting one as soon as I find the right ink artist. I am super picky and have not located the right one yet. But I have the image and artwork style I want done. It will be a woman rising up into the sky on a bicycle, kind of like the old Victorian era bicycle posters.0

I've got 6. Parrot (left ankle), frog (right ankle), a cherry tree on the back of my left shoulder, a tiger with landscape on my left bicep, a tribal style horse on my right bicep, and an abstract horse on my right forearm.
I have 3 others on my wrists which I had removed about a year ago. I'm actually seriously regretting the removal (I did it because of career plans, which have fallen through) and plan to have them redone. I'm also going to have my tiger's landscape added to.0 -
Already decided I'm having my first ink for hitting my first major weight goal (which will probably be late this year or early next.) It will be a Celtic cross, with knot-work on the inside and a shamrock at the crux (center.) Green with gold accents. Already picked the artwork and lined up the artist. Can't wait!0

#4- a big bow with a little heart in the middle on my chest (needs to be finished with color)
i want a lot more lol
#1 - the words " like the riseing tide beating hearts grow but never die" on my thy
#2 - something on my feet

I have a navy girl on my upper right arm - got her 2 weeks out of Navy boot camp, September 1985.
I have Casper the Ghost on my upper left chest. When I wear a tank or wifebeater he's peeking out from under the strap and waving at you.
I was hit by a car a while back, and a BMW "Boxer" type motorcycle engine saved my left leg. I'll get that engine tattooed onto me left calf soon, maybe next summer.
In every case I did not walk into a shop and pick something off of the wall. I had an idea/thought/feeling that I wanted to express in ink, and I carried my artwork in and had it done. I think it's more meaningful, and I don't regret any of my marks.0 -
I have only have one my husbands name under my wedding band.
I want more but not sure what yet.

I have 2. I got my first waaaay back, on my back. It was supposed to be a stylized eagle used in Harley advertising in the 1940s, it was a disaster. Looked like a parrot. I had an artist cover it up with Yosemite Sam. This was back in the 80s when tattoos were just gaining mainstream popularity and cartoon tatts were all the rage.
My second is my dad's racing number 87B. I got it after he passed away. It looks like ****, age, sun, and being stretched have ruined it. I have redesigned it but haven't had the time to get it redone.
Not looking for any more ink.

A bunch...
Goldfish on my forearm (japanese symbol of wealth, I'm a financial advisor)
Celtic Cross on my right tricep (always been into the irish culture even being Argentinian)
Girl wearing an NES on my right calf (love of women and video games)
Skull kid riding a big wheel on my left calf (back in 85 I was a toys for tots kid and they brought me a big wheel, that's why the kid's wearing an 85 Bears Jersey)
Killer Tomato on my left ankle (big B movie fan)
1/2 sleeve being worked on, on my left shoulder upper arm friday the 13th hello kitty and wasp (big fan of pop culture stuff, and the wasp is the logo of the shop I go to, crossed rifles of the us army infantry, skelanimals spider from my friends 38th b-day, boomstick shotgun from evil dead, and the thing tying them together is a monster shaking out a box of cereal where all my other tats are "prizes" from the box, and my artist did a bunch of fill in with cereal bits).
Most of them are on my profile, friend me if you want to see. ;-)0 -
I have only have one my husbands name under my wedding band.
I want more but not sure what yet.
I was thinking about doing that but my tattoo artist talked me out if it. In fact, he said if I wanted it I'd have to have it done by someone else because he refuses to do spouse/significant other names. He believes it brings bad luck. He was happy to tattoo my children's names on my shoulder though.0 -

i lost track around 20. I have tons. They are all amazing (excep the one I got when I was 18....).
For me all of them have deep meaning. Nothing is just for show or fun.... I also have a lot I did myself, old school style. Some people and a lot of shops are anti- stick and poke tats. The reason is most people totally screw them up and do ugly things that shops will have to cover up someday (why they complain about business, I have no idea! haha!). It probably also feels an insult to their art....But mine are well done- I know how to do them right!0 -
mine are colorful and permanently on my skin.0

Well I have been happily married for 11 yrs and I have had it for 9 yrs so it can't always be bad luck0 -
I have 3 stars on the top of my foot. it matches my best friend. we did it together. people always ask me if it represents my 3 children. It doesn't. it was a spur of the moment thing, so I guess it represents spontaneity and fun in friendship.
I plan to get another. 3 hearts, plus one broken heart with a halo to represent my children.0 -
Everytime I see this topic I think it says tell me about your tits and it makes me smile0

The second ( and this is where two and a half come in) was a group of signatures from my (second ) favourite band.
Curiosity is driving me to ask which band! My tattoo artist has a tattoo of a signature that I want but will never get. lol

My tastes change so frequently that I would never risk putting something permanent on my body. I once heard that a tatoo is a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling. I don't think they wear well either. Have worked in nursing for 25 yrs and seen the older ones which are no longer crisp but very blurred, faded (seems only blue and green ink survive) and dated looking.
When I was 26, I was considering a few different things but they never materialized.
To each his own I guess.0
