Are you a follower or leader?

Just something I have been thinking of today. I see a lot of people who view themselves as leaders and that feel they are in their rightful position to have followers. There are \ also people who don't mind following someone whether their aware of it or not.
Me personally, I am neither. I feel uncomfortable when people try to follow me and being a follower is/will never be my cup of tea. I like doing things differently from everyone else whether or not someone is agrees with me and I always stand strong behind it.
Would you say your a follower or leader? Why?

what if I'm a leader, but didn't really choose the position?0

I'm a follower, but never "blindly"0
-
Neither. I have no desire to lead, and I really dislike following.0

I'm more like you, not comfy being a leader, but not trying to just jump up and follow someone either. I like being different. If they say banana I say apple if they say apple I say coconut.0

As far as transforming from a fat boy to a fit boy, I have been there, so when I talk to others on this site who are starting out, struggling, or following some misguided diet advice, I'm a leader.
As far as getting to the next level with strength training and considering things like bulking and cutting, I am a follower of a handful of people here who have been there.0 -

I think I am of the same mindset .. I am neither. I don't follow "just to fit in" .. never did, never will. I can't say I am a leader really either ... Can't really picture myself waving my hand and saying .. "come on people, let's do this!!" .. unless I've had a couple a tequilas, I wanna dance like a maniac.0 -
I walk to my own beat. Always have.
Sometimes I will follow someone, sometimes I have followers.0 -
I have no interest in being a leader, but I'm not always a follower. Depends on the leader and situation before I will follow...0

This. Don't really want to be the leader, but rather hide in the shadows.0 -
I am both... (funnily enough we're taught the principles and concept of followership and leadership and how they wrok together and how to be a good leader you must be a good follower and in some instances, vice versa)
As we all have a boss to report to, but lots of us also have subordinates... we have to be both. It doesn't make us any less of a character to be a follower and it doesn't make us a horrible bossy agressive person to be a leader!0 -

I'm a leader. Either follow or get left behind for the zombies to pound you into oblivion.0

Ok, I might follow you, but very few others as I'm not good at following any.... oh, a bird!0 -
Neither. I'm a loner.0

Each phase of one's life can be a diffrent situation and they be followers in some situations and leaders in others...For example, one can be a leader at work, a follower at home, Some folks adapt to what is needed.0

I like people but I don't want to have to deal with them and I don't want to follow anyone.0 -
I'm a leader. I have to be because I have to motivate and inspire. Whether at work or not. I've pretty much always been this way. That doesn't mean I don't take directions or listen to criticism. It means I don't wait for anyone to make the move and I am always proactive towards whatever endeavor I'm trying to achieve at the time.

you are one of the few others I would follow. As for any others, not so much.0 -
Don't look at me. I'm so far behind, I think I'm ahead.0
-
Don't choose it but people look to me to lead. I wear a T for "target" when ever a project is forming, just the way it is and no idea why (except that I get it done!!!! Secret is I use the KISS principle of "keep it stupidly simple"). Truth0

Aye.

I'm a leader, or at least that's what my grade school teachers told me. Something about the rest of the class looking to me when the fire alarms went off. Not sure I'm good at being a leader though, I get distracted easily. I do my own thing most of the time.0 -
Hmmm, interesting.............haven't thought about this in a while.........
WAIT, WAIT.........HERE'S A TEST!

Are you destined to be a Leader or a Follower?
Intermediate Individual
O.k. So, you are the type that would prefer not to be constantly in the eye of the public but, every now and then, you like to take a bite of that sweet leadership pie! You have been known to lead when you are standing up for things you believe in but, you will usually follow when you reach a certain point that you know you cannot get past. Good for you, you're a unique individual!0 -
I will lead if I am expected to and/or qualified to lead, or it's a cause I really believe in and I want to lead. I will follow if I trust the leader, or have to follow (job, etc.) There are people I respect a great deal who are experts at things I know little about. Depending on the level of trust, I might even follow blindly. There are people on MFP that I would take advice from without questioning it.
I probably lean more towards leader, but that answer is likely ego-driven. If someone demonstrates better leadership or a group democratically decides on a better leader, I'm OK "handing the reigns over." I am comfortable following a trusted skilled leader.0 -
I can lead myself usually. But I screw that up from time to time.
I'm pretty self-impressed, and confident. So I trust my own leadership...
A leader must have followers, by definition.
A follower must have a leader, by definition.
What's the question again?0 -
A leader, I've always been more comfortable taking charge whether it be organizing projects/events, leading co-workers or just cutting the dam cake when we celebrate something in the office and every stands around looking at the dam thing, ha ha!0
-
As an educator, I would say I'm a leader. I want to be a leader, an example to my students. I want to stand up for what I believe in, and never be forgettable. Lol, I'm really easy going, and I do support other leaders, so If that makes me a follower, than I can be a follower too.0
