larger...i know i have lost weight, but i still feel big. Today I was holding my 10 pound weight and thought "I have lost over that much?" It helps to put it in perspective, but it doesn't make it go away in the end.

Larger. Ms Fatty McFatterson still says hello to me in the mirror each morning

The mirror must be broken, because you're not fat.

I still see my bigger self. I mean logically I know I am much thinner. But even comparing my before and after pics I still feel I look the same. I really need to work on this.

Larger for sure. When I saw the pic that is now my profile pic, I was like. Those cant be my legs! those legs look good. They are thin. My legs are still big. My husband had to reassure me that yes, those were my legs and yes, that is what they realy look like. I think when you are really heavy for a long time it takes a while for your eyes and brain to catch up to the rest of your body.

    To kr3851:

A mirror does not define who you are.

If you look good in your clothes and you feel that you look sexy, you are.

Do not let your reflection get you down. When you walk up to someone and they talk to you and you just pour out confidence, they're going to notice that are realize how great of a person you are inside and out.

I know it sounds cheesy, but when you're confident about yourself, others notice.

Aww thanks :) I don't hate what I see... I know what I've done to get where I am, what I did to get where I was, and what I need to do to get where I'm going. It's just sometimes a shock to see me the way the world sees me - cos inside I'm a normal-sized girl brimming with life. I'm not down on myself at all - in fact I'm a lot more confident than I was 20kgs and two years ago.

Probably larger. I still have the mindset of the fat little 5th grade me, so that's all I see :ohwell:

I think of myself as smaller than I apparently am because it wasn't that long ago that I was little. But I'm starting to realize my denial. I haven't always thought this way though. In middle/high school I was chubby and developed an eating disorder. So, no matter how small I got or what people said I still thought I was huge. When I began to realize my problem I got to a healthy weight, then went to college....
  • Much, much larger than I suppose I really am, I think. I have BDD (body dysmorphia). Though, I don't know really what I do see or don't (which is part of the disorder). So, when I look in the mirror I never see thin or skinny...I just see large thighs, thick waist and fat rolls on my back....

I feel bigger, definitely! I think it is somewhat a girl thing. Most women I know feel bigger then they really are.
Yep, right there with you on this one!

I look in the mirror and still see the kid who was almost 250lbs... I also tend to forget that I'm 27 years old and not a kid anymore.

My weight is still very high - I KNOW I'm large & I feel it.
  • I think that i'm much larger than I am. I'm not sure when this thinking will change.

Even when I see my reflection in the mirror, I see a very large person.

I feel much bigger than I am. I'm always shocked when someone describes me as skinny!

...same here. Or when someone says, "you are so small" I always wonder "what are they looking at? my tiny wrists?

    Yep. Definitely feel fatter.
  • I actually feel thinner but I look at myself more closely. If I looked at myself naked before every meal I'd probably never eat.

75% of the time I feel smaller.
23% of the time I feel the same size as I did 50+ lbs ago.
2% of the time I feel like I'm still 230+lbs.

100% of the time I see that I'm smaller when I look in the mirror or at pictures.

I know I am thinner, but I definately feel heavier than I probably should. I feel like there is a lot of weight I could lose, and sometimes I feel guilty eating my max allowed calories for the day. Just trying to gain more confidence I guess

99% of the time i feel bigger than i am, or than what people tell me i am! But i cant help the way i feel!

So frustrating when people say 'you dont need to lose any weight, theres nothing on you' ... Errr Shut Up.. when my belly stops hanging over my jeans, maybe then ill believe you!!

A lot of people recently have been telling me that I am tiny, I don't think I will ever be tiny however I just can't belive that people are actually telling me this. I guess for the most part I feel bigger than I am, but there are times when I am feeling really good and feel "normal" size so to speak...

I dont ever feel like I am as big I as I am. I guess thats why I am always so surprised when I see a pic of myself. The more weight I lose the skinnier I feel.

It definitely depends for me...even when I was over 40 pounds heavier, when I would look down at myself I didn't see the weight, but when I saw myself in pictures it was alarming! But right now, today, I feel thinner than I am. I've gotten back into a whole lot of my prepregnancy clothes, but still have a lot of work to do since I was 15 pounds or so overweight when I got pregnant!
