            This is a good read... I especially love the bit about explaining starvation mode - so many people swear they must be in starvation mode when really they are just eating far too much and not being honest with themselves!
I always think about clean/clean-ish diets vs diets with a lot of processed food and I think it's not surprising that you lose more weight calorie counting doing the forrmer... it's in a company's best interests to give their estimate of caloric content on the low side of the actual numbers where as people tend to overestimate clean foods (60cals for a cup of broccoli? not likely dear) so they end up eating less plus burning more (since the food isn't 'pre-digested'). Calorie counting is not quite as straightforward as it seems.
