I am 5' 11" and am 42 years old. I've been overweight for 13 years. This is an update from my previous post in this forum.

In 8 ½ months here’s the stats on my losses…
42.5 Pounds Lost, 10% Body Fat Lost, and 5.9 BMI Lost. I was about to have to go up to a Size 18 (but never did - thankfully), and I'm currently a Size 10. I went from being considered “Overweight” to “Healthy.”

    Measurement Lost Update:
    Neck: -1.5”
    Waist: -8.80”
    Hips: -7.20”
    Arm: -3.0”
    Thighs: -10.00” (L & R thigh combined)
    Bust: -7.05”
    Calves: -1.5”
    That's a TOTAL of: 39.05"

    074-1-1.jpg
Picture on left: Late November 2010 (approx. weight: 200). My starting weight on MFP was 202.5. The two pictures on right are after I lost my first 7 pounds (195.5)

I'm 5'10, these photos are AMAZING. Thanks so much to all the tall women who put their before and after photos here with their weight, it's really helpful seeing results of women who are tall! :)

Loving this thread. Funny, I'm 5'11" and ppl think I weighed 125 back when i weighed 150 and conversely 150 now that i weigh 171. Its weird but it's like tall women can hide 5 pounds much easier. Anyways, I love this thread. Great idea!

Yeah, I get that too. I'm 5'10", but I've always carried my weight pretty well I guess. I was still fat, but people have a hard time believing me when I tell them what my weight was a couple of years ago.

I love this thread though! You all are lovely and it's nice to see how you all look at your goal weight. I will be following this and maybe in a few months I will have some pictures of my own to share.

I get this all the time too...it's nice to know that other people don't think I'm as fat as I am! LOL
I actually had a lady and a guy I work with guess that I weighed less then what my goal weight is and I still have 58lbs to lose! I think they may have just been being nice! haha...but I am fat everywhere it is not a certain location so I think that helps!

I find it really interesting that at least a few of the girls who have posted in this thread so far have "after" weights that are higher than my "before" weight, but they look so fabulous! The girls who have said that they're in the 180s, I would never have been able to tell. And they're not the only ones - I've seen other girls on MFP who are tall, 180-190 and they look like supermodels. Why is this? Is it "body frame"? Amount of muscle? I did NOT look as good at 175 as these beautiful ladies who are 180! Or is my scale just busted? :)

I know exactly what you mean, at 180 I still felt/look like a whale & some women on here look AMAZING. Im 5'11, my highest was 203 and right now Im at 167. People never believed that I was over 200lbs but I sure was. Now at 167 I still feel like I have a loong way to go before this belly fat and the dreaded leftover back fat of mine disappears.

I am 5'10" and I am only a little over halfway. I am 246 at the beginning with the baby and the after is two weekends before Thanksgiving and on Thanksgiving at 199. I plan to get to 170 then decide if I want to go down to 150. Havent been at 170 in a long time.

Hey! I am 5'11" and when I started on MFP, I was 256. My highest was 265 and I was in a size 22 after I had my second son. When I started on MFP, I was miserable and had enough. I am down 21 pounds so far and starting to wear 18s more often. My ultimate goal is 170, but I'd be happy with 180-ish which would probably be a size 12/14 for me. Glad to see there are other tall girls out there working on this!

After my 2nd son was born:

Me at about 260 last year:

    Me at my lowest weight - 150 - in 1998 or 1999:

I'm 5'11" and currently around 233; started at 267, aiming for 177. That's "officially" at the top of the BMI, but evidently I have a large frame (7" wrist) and I've read in several places that with a large frame, you can add 10% to the BMI for a more accurate range, which would put 177 pretty squarely within healthy BMI. I don't have a before picture or even a during one -- v. bad about taking photos :P But I will certainly have an after!

I'm 6' and at my heaviest, I was 182. I did a challenge with my friends and family to see who could lose the most percentage of weight in 4 months. I ended up getting 2nd place, and weighed in at 163 pounds. I gained back about 10 pounds, and am currently working on getting back to where I was, I now was 166...so almost there! i'd like to get to 155 this time around!

Don't be scared to take some pictures now - they really will make you realise where you have come from one day - it will be worth it!
