It's never too late, although I will personally be jealous of your weather. I think I will ride outdoors maybe 3 or 4 times this week, and it will be with a high of about 43 degrees.
Keep up the great riding, and welcome.Can I still join in? I'm new to cycling and just got my first road bike (have always been a mountain biker!). I'm totally addicted. Let's see, I'll put my goal at 300 for the month.
I'm in AZ so can definitely do some outdoor riding, but I'm a wimp so we'll see how much I actually get outdoors to do it.
Dec 1 - 8 miles (RT to the gym for some swimming and treadmill)
Dec 2 - 21 miles
I've been too wimpy to brave the 30s and rain we've been having in the mornings, but the rain is gone and this week is supposed to warm up, so I'm planning on a ride (with leg warmers and gloves) tomorrow.

Sorry I'm just getting to post. I live in a small town and our community center only has 2 bikes and they have both been out of

I had to put off a morning ride yesterday b/c it was 29 degrees and windy at 8 a.m. when I normally ride. At 1 p.m. it was 53 degrees and a gorgeous ride! Today = still too cold to ride in the a.m., but we have family pics this afternoon, so sadly I'm stuck at the gym this morning and won't log any miles today. I better get after it though if I'm gonna hit 300 this month!0 -
I froze my toes on the trainer today. I was hot from the knees up and frozen at the feet... I really must frond my winter bike shoes...
My goal is more than last month (which was just under 120, I think).
On the bike trainer:
12/1 - 60 minutes - 13.42 miles
12/2 - 30 minutes - 7.61 miles
12/3 - 60 minutes - 14.58 miles
12/5 - 30 minutes - 6.42 miles (much higher resistance because had to use a different trainer)
12/7 - 30 minutes - 7.33 miles (so glad my trainer is repaired!)
Total so far: 49.35 miles

Found the winter shoes and still froze my toes on the trainer in the garage.
My goal is more than last month (which was just under 120, I think).

I think it's partly a circulation thing - on hard efforts on the indoor trainer, my fingers and toes do get a little cold - asked my Dr. about it, and he explained that the bulk of the blood supply is diverted to the bits where the work is being done - i.e. the leg muscles, and the circulation to the extremeties just gets a little lower - so they feel cold / look pale. You can aid it by not tightening up your shoes too tight, and - perversely - not putting on particularly thick socks - if you're really troubled, apply 'belgian kneewarmers" to them - embrocation/heat rub
I'm the same, with respect to the rut - but in my case it's around a hour to 75 minutes - I really do need to get outside, and step up the duration of my rides, if I'm going to manage anything decent next year.
Otherwise, everything's fine and dandy, Chez Yin - now, I really do need to hit the shower - it was a bit warm chasing those Rabobank riders on the Virtual Trainer earlier0 -

I think that above, the key was in the comment "...on the trainer in the garage"
Though if you mean what people in general are riding - it's pretty much anything - Road bike, Mountain Bike, Tandem, Unicycle, Indoor trainers, Gym bikes or Spinning Classes - if it's got pedals, and it gives you a distance you've ridden, you can book it in :laugh:0 -

Gorgeous day in AZ for a ride! Not so much this morning when it was 28 degrees (no thanks!) but by 2pm it was 63 degrees so I snuck out to get in a quick ride before the kiddos came home from school. Slight winds -- why do headwinds always have to be on the way home?? I prefer them on the outbound when I have more energy, thank you very much!0 -

December 8: 20 km- cold, but sunny. I forgot my darn keys at school again and could not lock my bike up at my drop off spot and had to put it on the trolley to get it up the mountain and then walk the final 1.5km up the mountain. I hope by next spring I will be able to ride most of the way up this dang mountain, but I am not there yetl :grumble:0
