Good evening and welcome to a new month and a new challenge!

Grammymax was our winner for April with 30 consecutive days of no late night snacking. I believe Phatfanny tied or came close to that record. Congratulations!!!!:flowerforyou: That was an incredible accomplishment. The bar has been set very high for May.

For the May challenge, please select a cut-off time after which you will not consume anything caloric. Mine is 9:30 p.m. because I don't usually go to bed before 11:30 or midnight. I allow myself a later cut-off time of 11:30 p.m. for special occasions/week-end nights if I'm out.

So, choose a time that works best for you. Then keep track of each consecutive night that you do not have anything caloric after your personal cut-off time. The person with the longest stretch of consecutive nights through May 31st wins the month of May

Since some of us fall off the proverbial wagon by snacking past our cut-off time and have to start all over at Day 1, this challenge lends itself to newcomers at any time. So, everyone is welcome even if you start the challenge after May 1.

Good luck everyone!!! The May challenge has now officially begun.

Cut-off: 8 officially, 7 when I wanna be brave, 9 (or later, I'll specify it at least a day in advance) when going out or exercising and still under my calories.

I'm in! I am a chronic late night snacker so I am hoping this will help me . I also go to sleep late so my cutt off will be 9:30 p.m except for weekends and special occasions which will then be 11:30PM.

As I sit here stuffing my face with ice cream, trying to drown away my sorrows, I'm thinking I should probably take the challenge!!!

My cut off time will be 10pm. I put my baby down for bed between 9 and 10pm and by the time that happens I always think "after a day like today, I deserve a treat!!!" only, every day is exactly the same! Stressful!

In the very, very rare chance that my husband gets to come home for a visit, my cut off will be an hour before we go to bed. It's usually midnight-ish. It's pretty doubtful, though so I'm not really getting my hopes up.

You know me... I'm in again...

Cut off will be 7:00 for the most part... late nights will be 3 hours before bedtime.

Last night was a late night... had the allergy boy at the hospital again... I wish his asthma wouldn't kick in so bad when he gets a cold.

Thanks! I was forced to have pictures taken two days before I got on MFP. I think it's what drove me to making a change, though. They'll make fabulous looking "before" photos!

Since I'll go out with friends tonight, cut off will be 9 o'clock for food and 10 o'clock for drinks (as long as it's just one drink, I don't want to be extremely strict about that). Bedtime will be anyway past midnight, I bet - but I'll keep you posted :).

ngwife: Is there something going on that you want to share? If not that's fine. I just hope that your days get less stressful.

    Day (night) 1 down.

    Good luck all.

Awww, thanks! No, my husband is deploying to Afghanistan and I'm in my last month of my last online course to get my bachelor's and all alone with my 9 month old daughter 24/7. So, my life is just one big ball of stress right now. It'll get better by the end of May when I'm done with the class! Oh, and I'm working on getting a job, too and there are like 20 different things I have to do to get it (data entry test, drug test, lie detector, etc). I really appreciate your concern! :flowerforyou: No one in my real life seems to get it! My Mom has the baby today, though! HOORAY! I've been studying... just taking a lil break.

ngwife, you're great! Accomplishing so much at once! Good luck with the course - you can it, you've come so far, there's just this month to go, think of it this way. Plus, learning is fun  .

I think it'd be honest of me to reset my counter, since I finished the glass of wine at about 11pm last night (even though I went to bed only around 1a.m.). This at the cost of staying longer out with friends who moved to another town, so I believe it was the right thing to do.

ngwife: Totally understandable that you're stressed. Good job on passing up the snacks while studying. A few more weeks of studying and then MAYBE you can relax a little - after all those tests for the job too!:flowerforyou:

dewdrop: Friendships are important. I thought your cutoff was 11:00 on weekends - or was that someone else? Anyway, you are your own judge

I made it through day 2.

    Have a great day everyone.

Well, dewdrop, at least you got to catch up with your old friends! Was it just one drink?

    Fabulous job, Grammy!

Thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement!

I'm back in for May. My cutoff is 11 pm when i work past 9 and 9pm when I work normal hours. i spent last month organizing the relay for life in my workplace and since I have over 100 employees between my two stores, I had my hands full, since we got a lot of family members who wanted to participate, so all in all, we have close to three hundred volunteers possibly participating. :ohwell: And all of them needed shirts and communication and I finish my degree in 4 months, so I was trying not to fall behind in that, and working 70 hours a week, and soccer season with my daughter, (luckily only 4 weeks since it's for 4 year olds) so April was gone before I knew it started. May's pretty full, but the relay is in 2 weeks so aside from one major fundraiser, I am as ready as I'm gonna be. Hopefully this will give me more time to post. So I am definitely on day 3 since I have been too tired to eat when I get home late. Whew! Long note. Good luck to everyone!!! I have missed you guys
    a lot!!

keri: Your schedule is just amazing. How do you do it? Hang in there!

I am hungry and it's past my cutoff so I guess I'll go to bed and avoid the kitchen.

    3 days down for me.
