I'm looking for awesome snacks that won't break the calorie bank! Whether it's healthy or kind of processed,empty calories doesn't matter for this list! To me, a good snack is either decadent, large portioned, crunchy, makes you think "wow, this is only xxx calories?!!?" or any of the above!!

    2 rice cakes lightly salted = 70 calories
    2 tablespoons of roasted garlic hummas = 70 calories

    Total for a yummy snack = 140 calories

    1oz of Emerald brand cocoa or cinnamon roasted almonds = 150 cals (about 28 nuts). 6g of protein and 11g of healthy unsaturated fats. They also come in 100-calorie packs if you want a slightly smaller (and more portable) serving.
  • cucumber salad.
    14 slices of peeled cucumber 14 cal
    2 Tbsp greek yogurt 50 cal
    mix together and enjoy.

    my husband likes it with sour cream but i make it with greek yogurt and he doesnt know the difference lol
  • Sliced apple, sprinkled with cinnamon, nuke on high for 1 min

  • add some English toffee stevia before you nuke it and it is like eating an apple pie. You can get flavored stevia in the nature center of your grocery store or on amazon (cheaper on amazon-depending on the shipping)

    There is a polish dish called 'mizeria' that is similar to this. You sprinkle the cucumber slices with salt and let them sit in a colander for 20-30 minutes so it draws the water out, then rinse and pat dry (so the sour cream or yogurt doesn't get watered down by the cucumber water). Then you add a tiny bit of sugar, a splash of white vinegar and fresh or dried dill. Yum!

    fat free lime jello (10 cal for 1/2 cup serving) with light whipped cream ( 20 cals a tablespoon ,depending on brand)

    I made an awesome winter snack tonight!

    1/2 cup skim milk
    1 splenda pack
    1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder
    2/3 a cup of water

    Mix in mug and microwave on high for 2 mins,stirring halfway through. VIOLA ,sweet hot cocoa for under 60 cals. You could even put a marshmellow or two on top and it would still come to under 100.

    Total: 130 calories!

    If I am really hungry but don't have a lot of calories for a snack, I like to steam 3 cups of mixed veggies and then drizzle with a little balsamic vinegar. 100 calories.
