Only just saw this today. Thanks for doing this. I'm in! I kind of fell away from carrying the pedometer in December, so it will be good to get back to that. One of the people in the Senior Golden Slippers group, where I hang out here, recently posted that she saw a study that said people who carry pedometers wall more than people who don't.

I know I walked 10,000 steps yesterday (January 3), because I walked the dogs 4 miles. From my last step challenge here, I remember that when I walk four miles, that registers as a little over 10,000 steps on the pedometer. January 2 was 3 miles, and January 1 was 2 miles. I always know how many miles I walk with the dogs, because I have all the sections of all the walking trails in my town measured in Google Maps.

    Those are great walks!

I usually walk in th early morning and my dogs are still sleeping - as is everyone else in the house.

I find the step counter keeps me thinking about how much activity I am doing. I will take a longer route to places or marrch while waiting for something in the microwave just to add steps.

Dancingj2, I wake up very early every morning, but my husband is a light sleeper, and my dogs wake up and start lobbying for a walk if I get out of bed. So I keep my iPod Touch on the bedside table and play on the Internet on it until everyone else is up.

I just saw this thread and I'd like to join - I got a Striiv a few months ago and it's definitely motivational (when I remember to wear it :-) )

10003 today. This challenge is good. I would NOT have dragged myself out after dark and walked the dogs another 3 miles at night except for this.

It seem like you can edit a post for a short period of time after you post. I know I will post something and then suddenly realize I mispelled something or forgot a word (Sometimes I think faster than I can type).

I usually find my last post and click on quote and then remove the quote symbols at the beggining and end of it. Others have said they keep a file on their computer that they update and just copy/paste into a post.

I just didn't do all of the extra steps I normally do yesterday I ended the day under 10,000. All of the longer trips to the bathroom and extra marching does add up!

    1/6 - 8,651
    1/5 - 10,173
    1/4 - 10,019
    1/3 - 11,113
    1/2 - 13,625
    1/1 - 12.690

    1/5 -- 15,104
    1/6 -- 10,413
    1/7 -- 14,158

The two other "mile" challenges I am doing this month have really helped boost my steps.
