    Thanks for all the replies! Youve definately given me a clearer view of what my goal should be..
    and thats to take it one step at a time.. ill aim for 160, then 150.. then 140...
    Im all about feeling strong and healthy, not about being rake thin and weak, so i think ill keep goin with what im doing,
    which is work out (cardio and light weights and running) and trying to eat less and more healthy!

    I am 5'8" and I put my goal weight as 130lbs. Before I got heavy I weighed 145lbs and I remember thinking I should lose at least 10lbs. But after seeing other peoples posts I am wondering...is that too low?

    i'm a closer to 5'9" and just hit my goal weight of 150 TODAY!!!

    but now i'm thinking i would like to get to about 140 or 145.

    I'm a size 8, but my pants are a little tight, so it would be nice to be comfortable in a size 8!

    Im 5'10 160lbs. my goal is 150! i just gotta stop drinking starbucks 2 times a day.... lol

    Im 5'8" and I started at 196lbs and I am currently at 163lbs. My first goal was 165lbs but now I want to get down to 156lbs. That would be a 40lb loss and I think I would be the most comfortable at 156lbs. We will see when I get there!! :wink:

    I'm 5'8", started at 178. my first goal was 155, and I recently hit that and decided to keep going. i think the mini-goals helped me. my goal is between 135-140, but I'll stop once I get to the BF% that's im comfortable with. just have to maintain the diet for that!

    I'm 5'8" and my goal is 160 only because that gets me right inside the normal BMI range. My lowest adult weight that I remember was 180 when I was in my mid-20s, and I liked the way I looked and felt great at that weight, although my face looked too thin in pictures. I wasn't exercising then like I am now, so I should probably get a BF% done when I get closer to goal. I guess that makes a difference, too? According to the CDC's BMI calculator, 122-164 is a normal range for 5'8". I would look sick at 122, and not in a good way! :smile:

    I'm 5' 9" and want to be 150 but not so worried about it. I am lifting heavy and am more impressed with the inches flying off! Loving how muscles look and my new strength. Keep on keeping on! CW is 161 and I am in a size 8 pants, so pretty cool!

    Same for me pretty much. Just over 5'9", CW is 155. Want to be 150 but not really terribly worried about it - also lifting heavy and right now I figure I can lift more than ever before and am wearing smaller clothes. I'd rather focus on lowering my body fat % a couple points.

    As several people have already mentioned, your specific body type will make a huge difference in what's best and healthy for you. I thought I'd want to shoot for the lower end of the healthy range, but when I was at 150 a couple of years ago, my body was really happy and I was solidly in a size 10. I am currently 189 and have a goal of 150. Once I get there, I can reevaluate and see how my body is responding.

    Im currently just under 168.. im seeing 140pounds as a good starting point tho :)

    I'm 5'8' (34 years old) and my first goal is around 155. Once I get there I will have to reevaluate and see how I look/feel. I've never been that "small" before so I can't really predict how I will wear my weight :)

    I was thinking along the same lines, 147. What was your starting weight and where are you now? I've just joined today weighing 217 so I have a hell of a lot to lose and want to lose it as quick as possible - so sick of being fat!

    I have the exact same stats. Would love to be 140 but would be happy with 145. I need to stop snacking constantly after I get home from work. Good luck to you, twin!

    I am 5'9" and would like to be at 180. I was actually down to 170 and the Dr. told me not to lose anymore I was too thin. I have been heavy my entire life so when I did get that low I had alot of extra skin, so who know really how much the extra skin weighed? I would be happy in a size 12 and look good in them..
  • I'm 4'11.5" yes, I still count that half inch just because I'm petite. I weight 115 and my ideal weight would be 105. I fluctuate between 110-120 and since I'm directly in the middle and I've been able to control that for a few months. So I think if I can push for 105 and get their before the middle of February which I think is a good goal.
  • About 5'9 and my goal is between 160-165

    I am close to 5'8 (really depends I've been told I am 5'6 :noway: and told I was 5'9 again :noway: so I figure I am 5'7 1/2 to 5'8 if I am standing up straight) My goal weight is 135-140

    I'm 5'10 and I'm longing for the scale to read 135. I have no real shape, and every extra pound ends up on my stomach and chin. :o) I just want to wear pants without a muffin top... :o)

    Was 130, then i decided to up it to 140, now that I'm 140 i'm thinking 135 so I have a little room for fluctuation.
