First off, there is too much good pizza available too close to me. Seriously. I have lived in this city for 15 years and I swear the one area of town I move to has become a pizza mecca. LOL! My favorite of the group is delicious and even better, I can order by the slice ANY WAY I WANT IT - which for me involves a little pesto and a touch of cheese. Sounds way too simple but it is DELICIOUS.

I also make a mean pizza at home using Trader Joe's Whole Wheat dough. High in sodium, yes but not terrible calorie wise since I have this tendency to load it up with spinach, squash, garlic, red onion, no sauce (I just don't like sauce) and a touch of cheese. It is SOOOO good in fact I think I will make it for dinner after reading all these delicious posts.

The best pizza is Neapolitan style. Minimal ingredients put together like a work of art for your mouth. And cooked in about 90 seconds at 800F. This is the real pizza. Everything else is just derivative.

This is from Luzzo's in Manhattan

I just love a classic, thin based margharita...preferably with thick tomato sauce underneath. Mmm...I want one now!

I love that too. I also like pepperoni, mushroom, and pepper pizza! Now I want pizza SO bad!

    Two types I love!!!

    1) Thin Crust - extra sauce, pepporroni and jalapenas!
    2) Chicago Style Deep Dish - with ingrediences from above :)

My pizza... is not made in Chicago.

My dream pizza: thinnest of crusts with the bare-minimum of cheese on top of a smattering of sauce.

The best pizza is back in Chicagoland - Chicago area has AWESOME pizza! Pepperoni & Black Olives. Giordano's is very good. I LOVE Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder - lots of history and a Pizza Pot Pie with a salad with sweet and sour poppyseed dressing and an Mediterranean Bread for Appitizer...THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Been in Jersey for 1.5 year and only found two decent places for pizza - Black River Barn has awesome BBQ Chicken Pizza and up in Connecticut there was a place that makes a Charcoal oven pizza - That was incredible!

I did my own pizza for dinner. Started with a pre-made 7" store bought crust. Added sauce (no salt added tomato with my own spice blend), browned hamburger (drained well), fresh spinach, mushrooms, onion, diced fresh jalapeno, and two servings worth of cheese.

Topped out at 788 calories, and I'm still under my calorie goal for the day. I wouldn't want to think about having chain pizza. I doubt that I could eat two slices and get by as good. I was kinda bummed when I read this thread this morning. But doing the make it yourself version I did okay. I think we can keep this in the rotation, but not too frequently. A good treat.

I hate fast food joints and chain restaurants usually but recently ate in Uno Chicago grill where I was served a Harvest pizza, with garlic roasted cherry tomatoes, caramelised onions, spinach, broccoli and cheddar and mozzarella on a thin base....it was the finest thing I have tasted in a long time and "I'm only going to have half" ended up as "oh dear, I shouldn't be licking the plate should I?". I'm now craving it again...big time...but at 1000 cals almost, I'd have to do one hell of a workout to justify it.

At home I make a pizza with my own homemade sauce, a tortilla instead of bread base and lots of veggies....it's very yummy...but not quite enough to get over my Uno craving!!!

I agree I had a delicious pizza from them

Hey, if you make your own crust and don't mind sharing it here please do so!!
My bread machine takes 2 hours to make the crust. I would like to find a faster one, or faster homemade crust. I have try different store ones but don't really like any on them. The bread machine is the best but not short on time. Any suggestions. Thank you in advance.

I have had pizza today... and OMG I just realised how much I was kidding myself about portion size. So I went and instead of medium got a small pizza today... which wasn;t that small.. I was stuffed after and I wonder how I made myself eat the medium sized one o.0

Anyway... pizza was very very yummy ^^
