Why do they always have to throw that 'abstain from alcohol' thing? That's just no fun at all!
  • Sounds legit! But man, I have a hard enough time keeping my sodium under 2500 - I can't imagine how I'd keep it under 1000!

This to me, isn't sustainable. Once one stops, how fast will those pounds come back? Seems like a poor return on investment. Jillian said it herself, that she has lost and gained those last few pounds more than she would like to admit...

I can see doing this for a special occasion.. or something along those lines. However, I think I spending 30 days focused on acceptance is a better investment in time.

I love Jillian Michaels. I joined her online Circuit Training 3 months ago and have had amazing results. However, her website had my caloric intake to high and for the first 30 days I didn't lose a single pound! I use her exercise programs only because the results you get are amazing.....I went elsewhere for my weight loss, and saw results within the first week! Still kickin it with Jillian daily!

I went from 36-30-36 to 34-26.5-34 in less than 3 months

Meh.. kind of half-assed advice, really. I think all this stuff is pretty common sense. I like JM, but sometimes she just spews the same rhetoric that every other fitness/weight loss professional does, and tries to pass it off as groundbreaking.

    Awesome, thanks! I love Jillian... she's a crazy. :)
Yes she is...because this advice is silly. Simply maintain a calorie deficit is all you actually need to do. Drinking 80 ounces of water and limiting your sodium is only going to affect water weight.

My "last 10 lbs" are my first 10 lbs. I've been maintaining a calorie deficit since October and let me tell you, it's been difficult. I had to increase my exercise levels significantly before I started to lose anything, and even then it's happening at a very slow rate.
I've maintained one since last July....so I'm aware of what it takes. The information on this thread won't get you there any faster....drinking water and cutting down sodium on it's own, does not burn any fat.
