How often do you eat fast food?

I eat it maybe like two or three times a month at least? Maybe more...it sort of depends on what going on for work. It's cheap. I'm poor. It's close to where I work...when I'm running low on cash or just get sick of the soup/sandwich place I go to Mcdonalds. To be honest tho I honestly don't do that bad on calories when I go. I normally get something with grilled chicken, and don't bother with the french fries. I think it's okay to eat fast food you just need to be aware of what the healthier option are. ANd to be honest there ARE option at Mcdonalds that aren't bad all, like their grilled chicken wraps, which are like around 280/300 calories. A Mchicken, a hamburger and cheeseburger all don't have many calories either. If I eat a bigger meal for lunch then I just reduce my calories/fat at dinner. Honestly I don't worry so much about WHAT I eat but HOW MUCH I eat. I sort of eat what I want in moderation and just make sure that I don't go over 1200 calories a day. The problem is fast food can be really high in Cals but doesn't really fill you so I end up going to bed hungry... but you CAN still lose weight eating what you want. I've dropped ten pounds so far and I do eat crappy food more often then you'd think. I should add I DO go to the gym several times a week and run and burn on average 500 calories, do that may be part of it, but point is you don't have to completely cut out the unhealthy food to be healthy and lose weight.0

I do!0

Too often still. I really need to cut it to once or twice a month, at most one meal a week. But it's so convenient sometimes and I'm a terrible cook, too. About all I can make is steak, hamburgers, and eggs, so when I'm sick of those, I end up eating out.0

Thats what got me here !! why would I eat it now0

I haven't had fast food once since 2005 (including "healthier" fast food like McDonald's salads).
hehe that reminded me of this

I would say about once a week for me...however, my habits have changed. I eat more grilled chicken sandwiches, and I now order a small fry and only eat a little more than half of it. Sometimes I get a salad instead of a sandwich.
Bottom line is this...I'm doing this as an adjustment, not as a diet. Truthfully, I won't give up fast food entirely. I really do enjoy it. I've just gotta be aware of the impact of my choices, and work it into my calories. That's my recipe for success, anyway.0 -
I have never been a fast-food eater. Actually, we have lived in our town for 3 years now. There is a McDonalds not too far down the street. I have never once been there.
We do go out to eat once a week, usually on Saturday. But it is never fast food.0 -
once in a while. however, i usually stick to things like yogurt, side salads, etc. simply because i'm a vegetarian. i don't really get the taste for fries anymore. i may eat it once every few months.0

Giving up fast food is one of the major reasons I lost my weight...0

I went from eating fast food a few times/week (sometimes twice a day!), to eating it maybe twice a month, at the very most. I'm feeling a little down on myself because I'm having Taco Bell for dinner tonight. I know it's not wholesome, healthy, or the best way to get my calories in. I haven't had it in a long time and I didn't eat much today, which left me more calories than normal for dinner. (I spent most of the day at the oncologist's office with my son.) I made sure to order something somewhat 'healthy' and even saved calories for a clementine later incase I get hungry before bed.
I guess I'm looking to hear that other people eat the not-so-healthy fast food once in awhile, too, and STILL succeed.
I totally do the same thing. For example, one day I got really busy and had 800 calories to eat (I was eating 1,500 at the time) and told my future husband I was in the mood for chinese take out. It's impractical to say you'll give it up for good typically. If it doesn't put you over, enjoy!
Dang, I forgot about chinese. We have a buffet
near us that has a raw bar. You choose all your
veggies, and meats. (I usually get veggies with
shrimp) They cook it right there in front of you.
Then I take some of the shrimp veggies, put
them in a bowl and laddle the wonton soup
broth on them, with lots of black pepper.
I don't go to the buffet to see how plates of food
I can eat. (4 hour, you go now!) I like the variety.
One plate with a bowl of soup, and I'm set for the
day! Just don't know how to log it in to the diary yet.
I forgot to add, Chinese is twice a month max.0 -
Never, really. If I'm really in a rush and don't have time to make food I may stop at Wendy's and get a baked potato and some chili - but that's very very rare.0
-
Subway turkey sub maybe twice a month.
In a pinch, chicken nuggets from Wendy's maybe once every month or two.0 -
VERY rarely... Part of my running route when I lived on the Emerald Coast in FL was going through the McDonald's drive thru area to cut across to the other street. At that point, I had 2 miles in already, and the smell just fills your nostrils and makes you nauseous. At that point in 2009, I had just began working on clean eating, or at least recognizing it as part of my lifestyle. I was astounded at all the cars in the drive-thru every single time I made that run, and when my Mom would bring home her McDonald's Big Breakfast in the morning, I couldn't even deal with it! She knew it bugged me, and I cannot change people's minds and make them think differently but it makes you think about how you fuel your body. I don't even have a desire for that type of food because my body doesn't even want it.0

I think it depends on the kind of fast food. Taco bell and pizza is my weakness. Just make sure you can keep on track calorie-wise and try to control the carbs/ sodium since that seems to be the part of fast food that kills you.0

Once a week...0

last time I ate fast food.....was Jul 20100
-
Had it one time in the last 3 weeks.0

Whenever I get the urge. Of course, there are consequences in that I can't eat as much the rest of the day and feel like *kitten* for the rest of the day. Of course, I rarely have the urge to eat it.0

It's amazing to me how many people say they NEVER eat it lol. I rarely eat it maybe a few times a year. If I do however I will choose Wendy's or Subway.0

never!0

I love Taco Bell hard shell taco supremes. They are my weakness. I could eat them every day but limit myself to about 2x a month. Other than that I only eat fast food if I have to but I try to order healthy (or somewhat healthy). Like a McDonald's small hamburger and a salad. Or I eat McDonald's yogurt parfaits or oatmeal if I need a morning meal on the road.0
-
never, unless you count Brueggers or Noodles & Co. as fast food. I just don't think it tastes good.
I did eat fast food once last year. I had the flu, and for some reason, mcnuggets were the only thing that sounded good. That was probably 9 months ago.0 -
I will honestly say once to twice a week. I normally keep it being the smart thing on the menu. I have had no problems with my weight loss journey doing this, considering it used to be a daily thing for me before!0
-
Once a week on Friday's...it's our family tradition and my night off from cooking!! We usually do Subway and I make sure that I stay within my calories. Other than that, ehh once or twice I month I do something really naughty like Taco Bell, but still somehow manage to stay within my calories or darn close to them.. :happy:0

Wow, so many people saying never! lol. It's funny because for me it's kind of backwards.. I used very rarely eat fast food. I stayed away from it and never really craved it.
Then.. I got with my current fiance and since then we've eaten fast food soooooo often. We had periods where we went like twice a day for a whole week, lol.
90% of the time I always get something small or on the healthier side of the menu. Lately it's been less.. like once a week or so :P0 -

Is it? I am vegetarian, and don't have the slightest interest in fast food. I never have. It doesn't look or smell like food to me.0 -
Never! Even when I weighted over 250 pounds, never ate fast food! No interest! Yuk. although a fish filet and some fries sounds good right now!0
-
At least 2 times a week.

years ago I used to be a fan of chip shops...now... never... even before I started looking after myself... and i have a 20 year old son who has never had a Macdonalds!0

I hate Fast food. It makes me feel disgusting. I've never been a fan.
The only "fast food" we do is Chipotle..and occasionally (but rarely now) subway.
They put a chipotle about 4 minutes from us by car, so we're always over there and I get my vegetarian burrito bowl (a burrito without the tortilla)
I also always crave Avocado Rolls (Vegetarian sushi) probably much more than I should. they're fantastic
I love cooking, but we're having a dishwasher issue (we have 2 that we need to return, 1 is too small and the other doesn't work and we need to order a new one) - it's made my kitchen pretty crowded.
The freezer is stocked with Weight watchers Smart ones because of the crowded kitchen.0
