Star Wars...
I live my life by Yoda's wise words when lifting weights and learning to go heavier.
"NO! No different, only different in your mind......Do or do not, there is no try!"0 -
Star Trek Rules! James T. Kirk... stud-muffin! Female (can't say woman), in every port! Loved Spock, Bones, Scotty! Such an awesome crew!
Star Wars... ruined by the constant whining of the Skywalker babies (Anakin AND Luke). Seriously? You're so powerful in the force but still a whiny baby! Grrr... Loved Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader... just overshadowed by the constant whining and sniveling of the Skywalkers!0 -
Just made a friend start watching the new Battlestar, she is 2 episodes in and loving it! Really fantastic series, I even genuinely loved the end.
Also a huge Babylon 5 fan, my dog is called Lyta My guinea pigs were Inara and Maggie (for Firefly and Love and Rockets), my cat is Door (Neverwhere) *awards self billion nerd points*0 -
Star Wars of course!0

I actually enjoy Star Trek but Star Wars reigns supreme in my home ... so much so that our wedding cake and rings will be Star Wars themed and I have the Droid R2D2 ... May the Force Be with You0

Star Wars. Its the theme of my wedding reception :-)
Plus, Boba Fett is the best
Your wedding reception sounds awesome!0 -
See here's the thing with that loaded question. People will say Star Wars because that's what everyone else will say. But if you look at the quality between the two Star Trek far surpasses in that regard.
Who was better at Merchandising? Well no one can beat Star Wars. They have covered almost everything that you can think of with the Lucas Arts brand.
Star Trek for me is my favorite. It had better acting, better characters and a story line.
Ummm......what?
There are several Star Trek movies that are pretty bad all around, none of the Star Wars movies were bad but the originals were clearly better.0 -
In 1977 Star Wars was amazing (I was 7)! I was hooked and it just kept getting better :-)
That aside, the recent Star Trek movie was a great prequel (story line). The special effects were excellent too. But Star Wars will always have that little 7 year olds heart ;-)0 -
The ORIGINAL STAR WARS!!!!! Spok is cool & all...but nothing beats Star Wars. I don't even know what it is about that trilogy, but it just blows away everything else. Been watching it since I was 8, & was a proud "Rebel Spy" on the ride in Disneyland hahahahaha
Can I also add that the Alien quadrilogy is frickin sweet!!0 -
Love both, Own both, Watch both (Trek Movies at least) All The Time. So I don't know if I could pick between Kirk or Han. I'd have them both, if I could. But if we're just talking about Favorite Sc-Fi, which includes time travel and magic(s)...
I'd have to say Army of Darkness, all the way!0 -
Star Trek!
I love Star Wars (original trilogy). Still remember when my uncle showed it to us sisters for the first time. I dreamt of laser swords for weeks!
but star trek I like better. TOS for amusingly bad tech, DS9 for the characters and plots, TNG for Worf (so hot!), Voyager for drama. I like the universe created in Star Trek better.
all in all, though, I'm more of a fantasy girl. Give me knights, dragons and wizards! And princesses kidnapping dragons.0 -
Star Trek! 'Live long and prosper'0
-
Star Trek. Gene Roddenberry was brilliant! Star Trek was much more intelligent and well written. I do like Star Wars as well, but they are not even in the same league!0

I like both... Although I will say Wars. Although, I feel like Lucas just can't get enough money from us... The new special secret add on directors cut star wars in 3D! Buy it now! And I did but the new blu ray box set.
It also creeps me out when coyotes dress like luke and leia. That's your sister, gross.
And JarJar? Ugh just stab me.
I have to say, 7 of 9, from Trek was my first female crush. I still have have One for her (I am bisexual). And Picard? Awesome.
Also, LOTR for the win. Haha.0 -
Love them both! But Star WARS wins!0

Ok. So. People always compare the two but I think it's mostly because they have "Star" in the name.
WHAT ABOUT STARGATE, HUH!?
Anyway:
Here's my opinion.
Star Wars is more of a fantasy story than a sci-fi. I love it's story, characters and most of all the community around it. I mean, every Star Wars book is technically a fan fiction! I love the Star Wars universe as a whole and am currently playing Star Wars: The Old Republic and loving it. I love both the old and new movies (with the exception of JarJar).
Star Trek is more of a sci-fi in the classic sense. I can relate to Star Trek because it's got Earth just a lot further in the future than I'm going to live to see (Q.Q). The stories are expansive, the characters are well developed. I liked all of the newer movies but did not like most of the original series because it was more of a comedy than a series sci-fi.
Over all I could watch both Star Wars and Star Trek over and over and over and over.
2 Years ago I was Jadzia Dax for halloween. I drew on my own spots for over an hour.
2012 Halloween: I'm going as a female Zabrak based on my SW:ToR character. I'm going to paint my own face and wear a bald cap.
Basically: Nerds need to unite under our nerdom!

I tried, I really tried to watch Babylon 5 but...OW. ow ow ow ow...just couldn't. Somehow it gave me the same feeling as Dallas. O.o I know, I can be weird sometimes.0 -
