I'm sure it's not limited to those things. I've seen a couple people say music is their embarrassing hobby, and I don't understand that either! How can music, something so natural seem embarrassing? And video games!? Alright....I admit it! I'm a total geek! I try and hide it but I can't! I love mmorpgs (like Ultima Online, though I no longer play), regular RPGs (like Final Fantasy and Zelda), comic books, action figures, and geeky t-shirts. I can't live without Bones or The Big Bang Theory. I'm sorry I tried to hide it.

    BaZinga!

Embarrassing?? I play games on FB when I'm not studying...but I'm a stay-at-home mother with children in school and who are old enough to not want to be around me....LOL I cross-stitch too, which is relaxing for me. Geez am I really only 28??? *sigh*
  • My only hobby doesn't embarrass me but maybe someone else would find it embarrassing. I do leatherwork. I make weird stuff sometimes (nothing kinky before people get the wrong idea). :D

I read fluffy historical romance novels - literally HUNDREDS of them every year.

I really only like the funny ones (Lynsay Sands is HILARIOUS, but Julia Quinn is my favorite), but they are total fluff and are absolutely ridiculous. Regency romances are the best.

The funny thing is that I am actually not even remotely romantic in real life, but I just can't get enough of the fluffy romances. I have an awesome used book store near me and I literally have shelves and shelves of books in my closet (not on the bookshelves in the main part of the house because I don't want to embarrass my husband) full of fluffy historical romance novels - and those are just the ones that I loved enough to want to own.

    Ummmm.... me too

Teenage vampire and werewolf novels. I'm addicted....
  • I watch awful television. I don't let my kids watch tv during the school week. As soon as they go to bed, I switch it on and become completely engrossed in The Real Jersey Shore Kardashians are 16 and Pregnant or whatever terrible television is being produced at the moment.

I also read a lot and watch documentaries so I hope it balances out in the end!

I love to make quilts --and I'm not an old lady :)

I watch little tv but I never miss Hoarders. I'm almost neurotically neat so it's like watching a horror movie. I guess the good thing is that each time I watch that show I find myself organizing some closet or shelf--whatever I can find that's remotely messy.

I love football and playing fantasy sports.

I use to have so many embarrassing hobbies.. I would collect fruit snack wrappers. I would eat the fruit snacks & then save the wrapper haha.. Idk how many giant freezer bags I had full of those stupid things! And I would count how many I had every week! (I was a very weird 8 year old haha) Also the tabs off squeez-it bottles, I would keep those too! Now I just collect piggy banks... that seems pretty normal... I think lol

I'm always highlighting things in books I read. When I'm done with the book, I go through the highlights and type them into a word document. I have this entire book archive database thing chock-full of my favorite excerpts from books.

It amounts to over 500 pages.

I have officially crossed over to the bad place.

    I'm cringing right now...hahaha

I LOVE vampire, werewolf, etc. - type novels, but there are some *really* amazing ones out there for adults. They're well written, the characters develop, no pedophelia, etc.

I couldn't stomach Twilight. It is what is wrong with teenage girls of today. lol

Some would say my love for really really bad late 80's and early 90's pop music (New Kids, Vanilla Ice, Kris Kross, C+C Music Factory, Paula Abdul) but screw it, I love it and am in no way embarrassed. Just this past Saturday started belting out Bel Biv Devoe's Poison in a quiet British pub.

I still love Donny Osmond and I drove to Little Rock, Arkansas to see him in concert. And then drove the next night to Oklahoma City. :blushing:
  • I'm a secret scrapbooker.
I collect Marilyn Manson stuff including lunchboxes and dolls.
I also collect ridiculous pens with lots of glittery stuff and maribou feathers on the end of them.
I like drinking wine and playing farmtown on facebook.

I  Bollywood Movies. ALOT. I was so pumped when I found out that Netflix has a whole swarm of em'. I just can't seem to get enough of the singing and dancing I know they can be a little flaky but they are sweet .

I generally like foreign films. But Bollywood will always have my heart first and foremost.

I also have a mad obsession with Neil Young. I just love the man. If he is 92 and rockin' out in a wheelchair I would still pay to see him!!! I just wanna be his Cinnamon girl. :blushing:

I watch episodes of star trek TNG every time i come across it. No matter how many times I've seen it. Even the episodes I don't like. Every damned time.

And i am addicted to angry birds. I beat all the games with 3 stars, get all the eggs etc., and when I finish every game of every level, I uninstall the app without a back up, and start again. I am now working my way through them all again for the 4th time, but it's the first time on my tablet.

i'm extremely obsessed with traveling, like intensely so & compete with my dad about getting most countries on "the map".

therefore when i meet someone who is like ".. uhhh i've never left the country", i cannot seem to control my "WHY?! ARE YOU NOT ALIVE?!" response like they're completely daft for not spending all their money on exploring the world which i know is not the case but my brain does not want to accept that.

i am also completely over the moon when i get someone to play "name the capital" with me. like someone says a country & then you have to say the capital first to win, i get so ridiculously competitive about it & a bit braggy, as with the traveling thing, it's such a bad habit.

    edit:

oh & in my travel obsession, i also collect maps. it's cool yo!

Not really embarassing, but like someone else said, I could spend a whole night watching true crime stories like Forensic Files. I am also addicted to the show World's Dumbest.

    That's me too!!!

And I love comic books and some video/online games....yep, total nerd!

So I'm sure everyone has got some sort of hobby or ritual they love to do, and can't do without. I'm curious to see what other people's are.

For me...I can't go out on Monday nights...AT ALL...because I'm watching WWE Monday Night Raw. I know, it can be SO dumb, but that's my thing. My wife understands that she can talk to me during wrestling if she likes, and most of the time I'll respond, or at least acknowledge what she says, but I won't remember what I said later. She seems to be using that trick on me a lot lately...."So honey, are you going to do the dishes tonight?" "Yeah....yeah....of course....." *sigh* lol

I read the news (online or on my iPad) from lots of different sources (Baltimore Sun, Houston Chron, Huffington, CNBC, BBC, USA Today ... you name it) ... then I read RSS feeds I have set up to come into one of my apps ... You'd think one news sources or maybe a couple would be enough ... noooooooo.

    LOL
