Hihi! I'm 5'11 (and a half).
Before at 206 lbs:
After at 180 lbs:
I'm like 2 pounds bigger than your before picture and 1 inch shorter. Pretty similar bodies. I cannot wait to look like your after picture! You look great! Keep it up.0 -
I find it so nice to have a topic for tall ladies! I am 5'11" and a half, and am struggling with my weight and motivation! Reading these posts and seeing pics helps a lot! I don't feel like the only one out there that's over 200lbs... and know that i can feel good about myself having that number on my hips lol ~ No one every believes I'm as heavy as i am "I hide it very well", but do not feel comfy/confident in fitted clothing... My goal is 180.. and if i'm really motivated hopefully a little less with toning and shaping!! WIsh me luck! :S1

So EXCITED to have found this thread! My favorite so far! I’m 5'10" and right at 186 (SW 191, but I have been heavier). Just joined MFP and so far I am loving the inspiration, dedication, funnies, and all that MFP does to help track my food. 2012 is going to be awesome! I'll be back with some before and after’s. Right now I'm watching what I eat (no sugar, beer, soda) Training for 5K then on to a Half Marathon, and strength training in between (Zuzana, Jillian, 2 active boys! )GW is 150. Once I get there I will re-evaluate! Way to go girls, let's hear it for TALL CHICKS!!0

Your BMI will still be high at 214...But that's something you'll have to talk to DRs and figure out for yourself. I know some 5'10 ppl who can wt 135. I can not. I look sickly at 145-50. My goal is 165. But I think I can more easily maintain 170. BUT.. things could be different.. I am 15 years older than I was when I was 150. So, we shall see. Everyone is different . You have to figure out what you are happy with and what is healthy for you.0 -
I've just started, I'm a before. I'm 6'1" starting at 274 (yikes! my highest ever). Can't wait to be added to this posts! Keep it up ladies.0

It really depends on your frame. I'm 5'9 and my BMI range is 125-170 for a healthy weight. I was 140 at my smallest in high school and still wore a 10 (juniors). I'm definitely a larger frame and pear shaped. I don't see my self getting any smaller than a 10 and still looking healthy. I don't want to see bones sticking out. For now my first goal is 170 so I can be at a healthy weight again. Then I'll probably slow down the intensity of my calorie cutting and see where 1/2 a lb. a week takes me. I just want to be healthy for my kids. I don't have aspirations to look like a teenager again.0

I will share my (early) 1 year story here with the up to date photos :-
The pictures tell the story, my face in the last 2 tell you how I am feeling.
I really didn't ever think I could lose the weight that has piled on in the last 10 years but I have. The success stories and my 'pals' here have inspired me and made me realise that if they can do it so can I, I hope that anyone just considering if it's possible will look at these stories and 'real' people and know they can do it too.
I am healthier, fitter and 5 stone lighter than I used to be. I hope that by changing my life this year I will give myself and my family a great future together, my kids don't have to wonder why mum is fat any more and why she doesn't do something about it ( have you asked yourself that question?) My weight loss since January is nearly 4 stone, this is through better portions, treats in moderation & less wine! I go to the gym 3 times a week and now I actually enjoy that time ( amazing!) I was going to wait until my 1 year anniversary to post some pics but sod it I am feeling good enough now!! Still some work to do and weight to lose but the worst is over ( phew)
Good luck to all fighting the weight this side of Christmas - we can do it!!! Not easy with party season on us but don't use it as an excuse - we can be good inbetween those night out !

Way to go ladies!!
Tall girls RULE!!!!0 -
Bump for great motivation!! I just began in mid-January...btw 5'10"-5'11" GW 160. I have done it twice before and I that's low for me...need to lose about 80lbs. Great work to everyone posting pics...maybe I will have some in the future. QUESTION...besides diet changes what are you gals doing to be successful? I just finished Week 1 of Ripped in 30 and we have an exercise group at work in the afternoons where we do 30 day shred, zumba, tae-bo, or walk each day. Looking for more successful ideas...we are taking our family to Disney World in September, and I want to look great!0
