From guys, these name tend to creep me out, but any woman who calls me "honey" "sweety" "baby" "darlin" "sweetheart" etc makes me feel amazing and very, very loved!!! Maybe it's just my southern breeding coming through, but I love terms of endearment like that0

Only a guy buddy of mine calls me "hun" and the only girls who say that to me are saying it sarcastically lol.0

I cant help it but I call people "lovely". "Hey lovely!" "How are you lovely?" lol I don't know why. My MFP friends know I call them that Especially the ones I really really interact with0

I hate it from people working in shops or people who don't really know me. Pet names are an earned right. Otherwise they are just lazy and condescending, not to mention artificial.
Just wish I had the courage to say to them that I'm not their hun or sweety and never will be!0 -
Ummm, I tend to call girls "dude" and "buddy". Girls like that right?0

For me... if it's coming from a female, I'm fine with it if they're older than me. If they're my age... no. Feels weird, and almost condescending. Also, I never call anyone hun or sweety... I rarely even call my husband sweety. I call him babe. And a few other cutesy names that are just between the two of us.0

I call everyone hun or sweetie.0

Once upon a time I worked a customer service job. My favorite people to talk to were from the south and called you Honey, Darlin, Sweetie, and I loved every moment of it. It made me feel loved and appreciated and those people could probably get away with murder if they talked to me with that sweet Southern hospitality. There's just nothing else like it to me. So I've tried to adopt that in my own life, even though I am not from the south. It's just to try to help those I associate with feel more comfortable and like i care.0

LOL... I'm born & raised here in the south. But I didn't inherit that gene apparently.0 -
My hubby calls me a b i t c h..yeah we've been married awhile..lol i cant really say anything about it cause i totally am sometimes..ok..alot!0

The people who call me hun or sweety are usually little old ladies (I live in a retirement community, lol) and I think it's sweet. If it were someone young, or a guy, I'd probably not find it sweet but a little creepy or patronizing. Ironically enough, I now catch myself saying it back to my neighbors!0

I regularly call women sweetie, love, dear or m'dear in a very polite way. My girlfriend/wife/partner tells me that it makes me seem old though (although arguably, at 41 I am).
It's just the way I was brought up.
Mind you, I still hold open doors too.

If I call you sweetie I'm not being nice. Sweetie is not something I use as a term of endearment.
I will call people love or dude.0 -
It makes me feel very loved ^^
(from females though - from any other male than my boyfriend.. it's a little creepy:indifferent: )
What do you guys (as in all of you c:) like being called?
It's one of biggest pet peeves! If I am not dating the man or if it's some random chick, it really bugs me! Especially when they're a lot younger than me!0 -
I verbally discipline people for calling me *kitten* like this... :smokin:0

No one calls me hun or sweety0

I don't like it unless I know the person well.
there is a woman at work who calls me sweetheart. at first it was cute but now I hear it for how she means it - in a condescending way. Seriously want to punch her when she says it now.
I'd really rather hear you call me by my name or a (nice) nickname. I also answer to "beyotch" :laugh:0 -
I don't mind it when I am eating at a diner...in the south....in 1960. It bugs me when dudes call me hun tho'.0
-
I call all women I know dear, all women I don't know ma'am. It was ma'am for everyone, like all men are sir, but I got complaints. Alternatively I call EVERYONE boss, like Andre the Giant used too.0
