Greek Yogurt: How do you like it?

I didn't like it at first but I do now. I do add Truvia & fruit but sometimes I use it in a smoothie or I'll add hidden valley ranch packets and use it as a dip with veggies or use in place of sour cream....0

I put frozen berries on the botom top it with yoghurt and by lunchtime its defrosted and you jsut stir it all up...but for me I love sour stuff it might be too bitter for your liking.0

I like the Chobani yogurts with the fruit in it and I will usually add some of Whole Foods Berry Flax Protein cereal. In the Chobani vanilla, I will add a tablespoon of peanut butter and a half table spoon of sugar free chocolate syrup.0

Almost didn't even bother to post because I figured it had been done already but I like to mix granola in with it and it's pretty good.0

I eat the flavored Yoplait Greek yogurt and find it of a thicker consistency than the Oikos plain Greek yogurt. I can't seem to find flavored Oikos yogurt here (of course I'm not even sure they make it) so I now use it as a veggie dip that I put in some ranch dip mix into. It's a much healthier option then actual ranch dip/dressing because it has fewer calories, less fat and a ton more protein.0

i only like greek yoghurt as garlic sauce (tzatziki)0

Oh my goodness I could not have noticed this thread at a better time. I've been ranting and raving about greek yogurt all night on my profile (I'm obsessed.) I use oikos 0% organic. Oh and I use splenda as my sweetener, but feel free to use whatever sweetener you like (real sugar, stevia, agave, honey etc!)
1. One cup of yogurt with splenda and vanilla extract to taste topped with a cup of kashi go lean for a meal! Add some fruit if you're feeling it.
2. 1/2 cup yogurt with splenda, vanilla, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, and a little water to keep it from getting too thick topped with some whipped cream
3. Deviled eggs: remove the yolk of an egg and mix it with 1 tbsp of greek yogurt, some mustard, pickles, and salt and pepper for a great snack of 78 calories! I'm making egg salad with it for lunch tomorrow.
4. Mixed with splenda, cinnamon, and blueberries.
5. Mixed with splenda, vanilla, and sliced bananas.
6. Mix 1/4 cup with about 1/2 teaspoon of ranch dip mix or onion dip mix and eat it with your favorite veggies! I did that today and it was a great feeling to inhale dip guilt free
7. I've also found that you can substitute it into recipes instead of using oil.. like in muffins and even cupcakes! I can get you the recipes if you need. I'm going to try using it in cookies this weekend instead of butter.
8. On pancakes or eggo fiber waffles topped with some sugarfree (or not) maple syrup.
9. Mixed with apple sauce.
10. Swirled with chocolate syrup.
I have plenty more uses where these came from0 -
I do not buy flavored yogurt. I eat it plain, love the sour flavor. I cook with it, bake with it or may add protein or frozen berries to it at best.0

So today I decided to buy Oikos Greek Plain Yogurt to try.
I did not like it plain, that was so gross. I put pureed fresh raspberries in it with a packet of Truvia and found that I liked it that way. But it still needs something.
So I wanted to know how you like it?
I don't like the Oikos yogurt at all, even the flavored kind. Fage and Chobani are my two favorite Greek yogurts.0 -
I LOVE Chobani plain greek yogurt with a tbsp of cinnamon and sliced up honeycrisp apples.
HEAVEN!0 -
OMG how have I not thought of that. Hello snack tomorrow afternoon!0

I LOVE it. Chobani is my favorite. I especially like the Black Cherry, Blueberry, Pineapple and Pomegranate ones. Oikos Raspberry is good too. I once had an impromptu conversation about Greek yogurt at Wally World with another shopper. He told me he thinks the Oikos Vanilla tastes like frosting. He's right.
Greek yogurt s my favorite healthy treat.0 -
I actually love the bitter taste that plain Greek yogurt has. But I'm an oddball that way.0

I found Chobani to be the best for me... I make mine using Cascadian Farms Organic French Vanilla Almond Granola Cereal (just 1/4 cup or less), a drizzle of honey and several blueberries... The greek yogurt definitely took some time to acquire the taste for it! However, now I love it

Me too. I hate over-sweetened yogurts.0 -

Ditto. Definitely wide variation on the brands. I too prefer Fage and Chobani. Also have enjoyed Liberte' and Greek Gods and Trader Joe's brand. Would agree that getting a plain or plainish (honey, vanilla) yogurt and adding your own fruit will increase the fiber, and adding your own sweetener will allow you to control the sugar content…vs. getting pre-mixed flavors. And of course some of the other add ins (protein powder, nuts, granola) can definitely add flavor/protein/sweetness as needed.
Also agree re: substitute for sour cream. The lightly sweetened (honey/vanilla flavors) are good on sweet potatoes.0 -
Thanks for that. Never thought of adding the chat masala. Going to try it today!:happy:0

I use Liberte 0% and love it! Their flavoured ones are really good but I don't like how much sugar is in them, and I don't like plain yogurt. So I mix the the 2, I use just a little bit of vanilla flavoured and mix it with plain and add 1/2 cup of blueberries. So yummy and not too sweet but not too tart.
I do like plain as a sour cream replacement and love tzatziki.0 -
Another of my favorites is the Cabot Greek 10% plain with a 1:1 salsa ratio and eaten with pork bacon. I do that with eggs sometimes for my first meal.0

I like ANY Greek yogurt! It is so good. The first time I had it I had Peach Chobani Greek yogurt that had expired a month earlier but it was still good! lol
P.S.- I didn't bother to look at the expiration date until after I ate it. I had won it at a Weight Watchers meeting.... I figured it was in date! lol0 -
I recently bought the yocrunch greek yogurt fruit and granola parfaits. Not too shabby really. I enjoy them as a snack0

Greek Gods Honey flavor is the best!!!!!0

I would definatley have to agree on this one.0 -
with cinnamon and pecans or walnuts and I love it!
I eat vanilla, peach, or blueberry usually and add cinnamon and nuts. Sometimes I add granola instead. I like to have a little crunch in with the yogurt.
Chobani has been my favorite brand. I like Nostimo a lot too. Oikos was just ok. I haven't tried Fage but I want to.0 -
Had Apple Cinnamon Chobani today for the first time....puuuure heaveeeen......*drools*0
-
I put fresh fruit in mine. I'll add it to my morning protein shake.0
-
Plain mixed with hidden valley ranch dip mix for my veggies.
