I won a month of personal training through my local news station, so that's how I learned to love strength training; however, there are a lot of great resources online (one of my MFPals recently let me know about nerdfitness.com, which is awesome) and websites that can help you figure out a routine and show you proper form. I've also heard fabulous things about the book New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women, but I haven't read it.
