I appreciate the post. The thought of having to work out more than i do now (an hour per day x6 days a week) to get off this plateau just simply was a motivation killer for me. I realize that strength training is the one thing I need to be doing. Now to find something I enjoy.... Thanks again for the post.0

I thought you had something good going until you said ketosis means muscle consumption. Ketosis is a state where your body is burning it's own fat.
Ketosis should not be confused with ketoacidosis which is a condition diabetics can get in which is dangerous.0 -

Yeah I saw that too. Not exactly right, but on the whole the article does a much better job of being less alarmist about its conclusions than most that advocate against large deficits and ketoisis.0 -

this is interesting....I've noticed the past couple days that I've been totally exhausted from some heavy exercising 5 x week. I've been trying to eat back my exercise calories but maybe I'm not even accurately calculating the amount of calories burned. I think I'll try to add calories for a period of time - may help with the exhaustion as well! thanks.0

Thanks for posting... I just had to up my calories starting last week...which feels SO off kilter... I also backed off slightly on my cardio... I was doing 5-7 days of cardio...( 2-3 of those days were 2+ hours of cardio) plus 3-5 days of weight training... plus the lower end of cals for my weight.... It's the evil t.o.m.... so it's hard to say if there's trully a difference...but the day before that really started I lost a pound where I had been stalled scale wise ( though I did lose a little BF % during that time... but overall with cals burned etc it was simply NOT adding up)..... the human body really IS so complex...so many people tout the calories in calories out as simple....but so many of us on here do all the * right things* and get stuck...0
