Just started today. I had already done one day 1 level 1 before but my quadriceps hurt so much for 3 days after I could barely walk let alone shred. So I've stretched a bit more before and after today and will try push through tomorrow

so i finished level 2 day 2 yesterday and have found that i can pretty much not do anything that requires plank position! i am sure that it will get easier, but damn! it is a big step up in difficulty from level 1, but i'm not giving up!

i figured you were talking about me :) cuz youz my palsie walsie :) hwhahhaa. /laura out.
  • I just started and finished day 3 L1 today. I'm feeling good considering I just had my third baby 8 weeks ago. This is the perfect program for me cause it is short but to the point. I am nursing so I wont be adjusting my diet too much. Probably will just watch portion size. I'm just glad I'm making it through each workout considering I haven't worked out in months. My other two children must be helping with my endurance.

    my beginning measurements were weight:175
    Upper arms 12.5 in each
Waist 38? (I'm doing this from memory)
    Hips 40.5
    Belly button 40.5
    Thighs 25 each

I started last Friday. Only did Day 1 though, gonna do Day 2 tomorrow and be more consistent. I promise! :)
  • Day 4 of the Shred! I can't believe that I have done four days in a row. I actually was looking forward to doing it today. Never thought that I would say that, but it's true. It's still really hard to get through the whole thing without taking a quick break during those anterior raises and the bicycle crunches, but i don't stop. This next part is probably TMI, but as moms we all know what kids have done to our bladder control. I'm telling you, I need to do more kegels or something cause the jumping jacks and ESPECIALLY the jump rope makes me have to pee just a little bit. I make sure that I go before the workout but it doesn't seem to matter. Do I really have to wear a diaper when i work out???

I'm on day 14 (day 4 of level 2). It's torture, but I am definitely seeing results and I am only coming up on half way there! Jillian Michael's, oh how I love to hate you! LOL
  • I am really impressed with this workout. I just finished day 19 of level 2, and I can just barely do everything now to full intensity. The timing is perfect! Just one more day at this level, and then, boom! Kick it up!
  • Oh wow...day 1 of level 3! I was dripping sweat halfway through. Sorry, TMI & kinda gross, but that is an intense workout. Looking forward to getting better at it :)

I am waiting for mines to come in the mail hopefully it be here tmorrow because I won't mind.
  • How do you guys feel about MFP's calorie estimate for this workout? It gives me 130ish cals burned, for 20 mins for circuit training. That seems low for how much work I'm doing!

So glad I'm not the only one with that issue! Today was l2d5 for me and I always make sure I have at least a liner on for the inevitable.

What size weights does everyone use?

No laughing here....right now I am using 2 cans of Chili...need to get weights and have no idea what to buy.

Any help here would be great.

    Mindy

I'm using cans of Bush's baked beans. 1 pound 12 ounces. (but I think that is just the weight of the food, not the can?) Anyway, that is plenty of weight for me. I read people are using 3 and 5 pounds or more and there is just no way. I was thinking of buying weights but decided I don't want anything heavier anyway right now, so no need.

I ended up buying 3 pound weights, they were REALLY hard at first but I have gotten better. The bump in the road is at level 3 she uses them for a specific exercise that requires you to use them as a base, so the length on mine are not long enough for my hands.
So watch level 3 before you buy them so you know what you need.

Today will be my 15th day on the 30DS! Level 2 is killing me...I do get a little better at it every day but those planks really annoy me! LOL This level is pretty hard and I'm getting nervous about level 3... I have lost 4 lbs in the last two weeks and I'm know I have lost inches but I think I will wait until the 30 days are up before I check my measurements again. Only 15 days to go!

How bad is level 3 compared to level 2?!?!

It's harder for me because my knees hurt, the way she is doing them is harder for me. But the basic strength needed, I do now have. I am 49 and never had knee issues before...now I do. I modify anything that is a bent knee to the ground.
  • I just ordered it from Amazon! should arrive tomorrow.
    Starting at 5 ft 4 140-145 lbs
    goal weight 130-120

I would say your best bet would be to get a heart rate monitor! I was getting roughly 210 with 25 minutes of circuit training with MFP for this DVD on level one but my HRM gives me a read of 188-205 depending on my intensity (heart rate typically between 167-183 during level one). I seem to burn less calories when I get a little more used to her moves. Your calorie estimate seems a little low but it could differ from person to person!

finished level 2 wednesday...definitely behind schedule but not giving up. I have to say my measurements haven't been as impressive as i was hoping for, but i'm a realist. my eating has been erratic and i haven't done it as often as i should. not giving in though. my strength has DEFINITELY increased, so i know changes are happening even if they aren't showing up on the scale or the measuring tape. now on to level 3!
