I'm currently in "maintenance" with an estimated 1700, so with exercise calories, I'm usually over 2000. 39 years old, 5'5 and currently 132#, but not concerned with the number on the scale at all.
During the time I was losing, I was usually around 1800+.6 -
You can friends me if you want to have an idea of what 1800-2000 (deficit days) looks like for me, I eat at a slight deficit for most training days during the week, then have 1-2 days per week I eat in surplus, usually my hardest/longest training days of the week, I'm a cyclical eater, some days lower, some way higher, but my mantra is food is fuel, I make food work for me! My profile also has progress pictures linked to bb.com
*I also have days where I eat close to 4k and I always hit PR's in my time on endurance days or on a strength day afterwards!6 -
After about a month of eating between 1,800-2,300 calories a day I have lost a pants size.
What I think is better is that I have plenty of energy after work to work out. It's not a struggle to get off the couch at the end of the day any more.8 -

I am 5' and 125 pounds currently. I was at 1200 cal and stalled out, no loss and no energy. Upped my calories and I now eat at least 1800 a day, about 1400 net. I lose about half a pound a week most weeks, and if not losing weight then my inches still go down.14

I'm 34 years old and 5'5" and currently weigh 123. I'm eating about 2000 every day - a little more or less depending. I have a BMF and use that to see my daily burn and am trying to keep my deficit very small (250 calories/day). I'm starting marathon training this week so I expect my eating to increase some over the next couple months as my mileage picks up. I also cross-train (usually spin class) and lift weights 2x a week.3

I am on maintenance and eat 1780 on rest days which is once a week usually. The other days I eat 2000 or more calories depending on the workout I did that day. Still seem to be slowly losing inches lately despite eating my maintenance calories.3

I ate 2000 today! Burned over 700, and I ALWAYS eat my exercise calories. I typically net 1400-1600. I'm 133 pounds at 5''4" and am hoping to reach 115. However, I've added muscle (I was 130), so I'm keeping that in mind, as well!5

what were you eating for calories when you were trying to lose weight ? I am asking cause you are in maintenance now.3 -
I eat between 1750 - 1900 and I burn 400 - 500 calories most days (don't really eat those back unless I'm starving). I've lost only six pounds, but I'm lifting fairly heavy so I try to keep the deficit pretty small. I have, however, went down two pants sizes and my waist is slimming down considerably.
Some days if I plan really well I eat only 1500 calories or so, but any less than that and I'm just too cranky and have absolutely no energy.6 -
I don't stay under a certain calorie amount and I've lost plenty.1

I weigh 125 lbs and I am 5ft 4 inches tall.
I eat 1800-1900 calories/day. I try to eat as close as I can to 1900 on lifting days.
I eat about 1700 calories on my rest day...which is Sunday.1 -
5'10" and eating 1900+ per day. My weight loss ticker should tell you how I feel about weight loss.

Mine too. She's amazing.0 -
Very very happy at 1600-2200 a day. Tried the 1200-1400 and was a grade A B!TCH, losing better and keeping my hard earned lean muscle mass. Don't fear the fuel people, you need it!7

I'm eating a minimum of 2300 a day, more when I workout. I am breastfeeding, which accounts for part of it, but even without the extra calories for that, I'd still be over 1800. I'm 5'7, and currently 207.8, having lost 4.2 pounds since joining a few weeks ago, and down almost 8 since the beginning of the year.4
-
When I was maintaining I was eating up to 2000 a day, now I'm "bulking" so eating up to 2300 a day.
I'm pretty small too, so I think people can eat a LOT more than they think they can. There is an initial weight gain/bloating for some, and I think that scares them off.1 -
I'm 5'5" and eat about 1800. Especially when exercise calories are added in. Not sure what I weigh as I gave up my scale for Lent. I didn't drop a pound since october but went down a pants size and a half while lifting heavy. My legs are lean and muscular and make me happy. I have "impressive " biceps when I flex yet my arms are smaller and fit with space in previously tiny sleeves.1

I'm aiming for 1450 net, but since I burn at least 500 just about every day but Friday and I eat my exercise calories, I fit in there.
I haven't weighed in in a week, but I started at 223 and after 33 days was 215. So ... so far, so good.2 -
My net calories were just reset to 1480 today but with exercise I usually eat well over 1800. There is no need to starve!2
-
I had my BMR tested with the Medgem, and it was 2450 . I usually don't eat that much, but try to reach 1800 or so. I don't count calories directly, so I am base it on estimates which has been effective. I work out a lot, but I hit a summer plateau that I just busted through the past month or so.1
-
I ate about 2000 NET last summer. Lost 12 lbs. I then ate 2800 and gained 10lbs. I'm happier with my body now than I think I've ever been.
ETA: Oh, you asked for pictures (and well, I'm an attention *kitten* and will post pictures as often as I can)

Yay! A thread where the women don't starve themselves and care about having a HEALTHY wight (loss) goal. And a few here who look like they might even lift the occasional weight4
-
I am losing better eating more. And I have more energy. It's a good thing. My net goal is 1400 calories but I'm often eating 1800 or more with my exercise calories added in. I have only started working on repairing my damaged metabolism since late October (or thereabouts) when I finally got it through my thick skull that 1200 calories total (at the time I wasn't eating exercise calories) wasn't healthy or sustainable. I hope to continue adding in more calories as I get closer to my goal and increase my strength and endurance through heavy lifting, HIIT and cardio workouts. I'm also one who is losing inches far beyond what the scale loss should indicate. I'm loving it.5

Yea I started eating 1500 and lost 21 pounds in a month and was STARVING!!!! then I hit a platu and it ruined my drive, then I found out your body can get used to a smaller amount of food and run with a smaller amount, and I thought why in the world would I want to change my body to run on a smaller amount of food (seeing as how I love food so much) so now I want to train my body to run and burn on 1800-2000, and I do plan to eat back my cals, I also decided to make the calories I eat really count so I try not to put things don't have the good stuff, Iron fiber ect in me mouth,
I am reading this book by Juilin she say's gaining weight and loising weight is more about the cemicals you eat then restricting, so I am trying to provide enough of the good stuff, cause I want to be healthy and lean not skinny and unhealthy5 -
thank you everyone for posting this thread! it is very helpful, makes me realize that i am not eating enough, time to bump up! thanks ladies!3
