Do you shower at the gym?

I don't.... I can barely even get changed at the gym, not so much from modesty, but because I'm still so darn fat...... but maybe when I lose another 50 pounds I might.

I don't. Mostly cause I have a thing with being naked in a public place...It freaks me out.0

Nope. But I really don't have reason to. I change at home, go to the gym, go straight back home and shower there. I hate showering immediately after working out anyway, I like to let my body sweat out a bit before I shower anyway. If I shower right after I'm done workin out I just keep feeling sticky and damp again after drying off after the shower.0

yes, otherwise I smell.0

hell ya, they have the nice shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Also I'll shave there too cause razors arent cheap and use up the qtips and mouthwash they supply0
-
No, but not because of a sense of modesty. My gym is a three-minute walk from where I live, so I use that short walk as a cool down, plus I have better soap and towels at home.0

Okay, I'm definitely a member at the WRONG gym. I have to bring all my own crap....
but back to the point, I was hesitant at first, but then I realized that it sometimes allows me to go to the gym directly before class or work when I would have put the whole thing off if I'd had to come back home before heading out for the day. so I gave it a shot. I've gotten more and more comfortable over time. Now I put on my make up and dry my hair and the whole nine.
I do still get dressed in the shower stall tho (at least to underpants and camisole level-), which has caused some wet clothing from time to time, but I just cant step out with just a towel on or nothing....I'll never get there.0 -
Nope, but only because I live 30 seconds from my gym.0
-
No, because every gym has this guy:

No, its dirty and disgusting and im not talking about the facilty0

Only in my own sweat.
The actual cleansing shower happens in the privacy of my own home. Girly parts gross me out, and I don't want to look at others or have them look at mine.0 -
Yes. I consider it a very pleasant part of belonging to my gym, almost spa like. It's spotless and filled with warm fluffy towels, lotion everywhere, vanities I can leisurely dry my hair at (as in no child pulling at me). It doesn't bother me that everyone's naked. Except that lady with the goggles, but it's still absolutely worth it.0

No just because everyone would be so jealous of my FAT tabulous bod...lol0

I do when I have time. I usually have my son with me at the gym, and the children's play center has a 2 hour time limit, so often I don't have time to get him dropped off, work out, and get showered all in time to pick him up within the 2 hours.
But if I'm just taking like an hour long class or doing a short work out (or if my son's not with me), I do. My gym (like one of the other posters) is really really nice. Lots of towels, blow dryers at each mirror, a steam room, nice individual showers, etc. So if I have the time, I definitely enjoy the perks of the steam room and shower. I don't pay too much attention to the nakeds, and I don't really care if other women see me naked (although I am relatively modest, I make sure I'm always covered below the waist).0 -
Yep. I go to the gym after work. I used the family shower for extra privacy. This saves time so when I get home, I have more time for me. Plus for all the money I'm paying, ya darnn skippy I take a shower there!0

Some days. When I use the ladies locker room there is seldom anyone there and i use the shower stall for wheel chairs so there is lots of room to dress. I don't do that because I am fat i do it because I am very modest .0

I would LOVE to know what gym you go to!!! lol
Nope, my gym only has the hand soap kind of dispensers with god knows what in them! and I also like to be able to take the shower head off the wall and properly rinse all the soap off me...0 -
No way ......I take a shower before I go and one when I get home.........damn I take 2 to 3 a day .... At least I smell good ...Giggles

Yup, because I go to work right from the gym. No luxurious anything, I haul all my own stuff in and out, but...I'm more likely to exercise at the start of my day than at the end of my day.0

I work out a lunch, so always shower before heading back to work. I'd say my gym has sort of average facilities. I have to supply my own toiletries. But we do have individual shower stalls with frosted doors. I'm at the gym to work out and then get on with the rest of my day. If you don't want to see naked people, you shouldn't be in a gym locker room. Fortunately pretty much everyone there during the middle of the day just seems to be focused on getting their thing done; no creepy lurkers.0

Yep, I go to work 2 hours early just to workout and take a long shower, it's free so I take full advantage.... so yep I'm that chick riding on the subway with a weekender rolling bag tripping people up on my way to work...lol0
-
hellz no! I kinda have a rule against being naked around other dudes, I'm weird like that! lol besides I live close to the gym so I shower at home0
-
No, cause my get cute ritual is entirely too long AND i won't even put my bare feet on the changing room floor. I can't imagine my tootsies touching a shower floor used by others...ewwww...0

I kind of miss the extras that some gyms provide now that I work out only at the YMCA or at home. But I don't know why I would haul my stuff to the gym for a shower unless I was working out and then rushing to get somewhere.0

On certain days I do. Somedays the only day I can get a workout in is to go at lunchtime. I sweat a LOT,so I do a quick cool shower before redressing and fixing my hair and make-up. However, I live within walking distance of my gym, so when I workout before or after work, I just head home to shower. I suppose in theory I *could* do that during my lunchtime workout, but then I'd feel like I had to take the dog out, and check my messages, get the mail, start a load of laundry.........you get the picture.0
