So... lately I've been logging all of my food for the day in the morning. That way i can plan out what I can eat and not feel guilty or worry about it.
Well, I just have to say my favorite thing is when I look over it at night and can remove the things I never got around to eating!!! :noway: And then have a little dessert with my leftover calories! :laugh: (My fave is partially frozen berries with Splenda or a little whipped cream!)

That dessert sounds DELICIOUS!
I had never thought of logging everything in first, but that seems like it might actually be more effective. I'm not much of a planner, but I agree that planning meals would save me a lot of worry that I'm going over calories in a day. Good idea! Has it worked better for you than entering it after you eat?0 -

I'm hopeless at sticking to a diet for any length of time so hopefully some group accountability will help me keep on track. I'm diabetic so that really causes difficulty when trying to lose weight and work is hectic so I'm just going to aim for 1lb a week, aiming to reach my goal weight of 160lbs by Christmas.

I also try to enter my food early in the morning and then stick to it. Then I have more of an idea what i will eat for the day as well as how well I am doing.
There are homecoming community celebrations going on this week so tonight we went to an "International Cabaret" where you get to try all kinds of food from all over the world. I have no idea how they add up calrie wise (let alone the fact I don't remember what the foods were). But, I didn't go overboard and I think that I did alright! And it was so good! Got to try a lot of different things!
We were supposed to go see the tall ships today, but due to the rain, we decided to wait until tomorrow. So, that's the weekend plans0 -
I would like to join if its not to late. My current challenge will end Aug 31 and with this challenge I know I will be able to continue on with my weight loss.

I do the same thing. I enter it the night before and prep as much of my meals for the next day as possible then I stick to it. It helps keep me more organized too.0 -
I did great with my eatting today. I ate healthy all day! Then after dinner I wanted a cookie so me and my fiance split a cookie (it was a big cookie). Which was perfect because normally I would eat the whole thing by myself. I felt great after eatting almost all natural food today!
I still haven't gotten any exercise in since Wednesday but should have some time tomorrow during the morning and if not then I will go for a walk with my fiance tomorrow night.
How is everyone else doing on their eatting and exercise during the weekend?

For breakfast this morning I had a broccoli cheese omelet made with 2 egg whites, 1 egg, 1 cup broccoli and 2 slices of cheese. I wish I could learn to eat this without the cheese.

I am answering a post from a few days ago fr TCASMEY...
A hint about omelettes. Try using cottage cheese instead of regular, and if you use milk, hold off on adding it, or use about 1/3 to 1/2 of what you normally would put in. You might get a little water separated out of the mixture after it is cooked, but you can pour that off and the results will TASTE fine--the finished product will look different is all. If all cottage cheese doesn't do it for you, try 1 slice reg cheese and add cottage cheese along with it.
I was going to say "Good luck on cutting the cheese" but realized that might not come across as intended, :laugh: :laugh: so let us say, good luck with "reducing" the regular cheese in your omelette!!0 -

I need an intermediate goal between Labor Day and my birthday, which is April 2010, so Christmas seems like a good time. If I can hit my goal, I will be at 175. I will post my starting weight as of tomorrow, as I have been "maintaining" since July 4th week. I have been able to get back on track for exercise this past week, and due to my work schedule, my weekly weigh in day is Sunday, so will update tomorrow

So what did you all for breakfast? I had 2 eggs over easy, 1 piece of toast, and a yogurt with a little bit of kashi crunch.
I had a package of Quaker Weight Control oatmeal, a banana, and a large Tim Horton's coffee with double milk.

Thanks for the welcome. As promised, I am updating my starting weight for this challenge. As of this morning , I am down 25 lbs, and starting at 220 for this challenge.

Anyone can join, and its never too late. We are working on getting a better body by Christmas. We are weighing in on Wednesdays. (but you can weigh in anytime you want) Welcome and good luck!
Hopefully everyone had a better eating weekend than I did. We spent 4 hours in the car Friday after work driving to Sioux Falls to visit relatives. When we got there we sat around drinking and eating.
In the morning we packed up and drove 3 hours to a birthday party where we sat around eating and drinking. After the party we got back in the car and drove and hour to my parents house. Where my mom thinks you need to be eating all the time. Sunday we got in the car and drive 2.5 hours back home. I was going to get on the exercise bike for an hour but spent my time cleaning the house and doing laundry.
It was a great weekend for seeing people, but bad for my weight loss journey.
On a more positive note I got my 5k walk in this morning and my breakfast of yogurt, blueberries and fiber one bran cereal was delicious and very low in calories.
Going to drink extra water today to help flush the salt from the system from all the processed food of the weekend.0 -

Welcome everyone.

It was a cold windy morning here and I almost talked myself out of my morning walk, but then I decided to do a short one but once I got out there and got moving I got in a 3 mile walk before it was time to head home and start working.
Don't let the weekend interfere with the healthy eating and exercise! (Weekends have been my enemy for diet and weight loss.)
Keep thinking thin by Christmas!
Weekends are my downfall too. My uncle is coming into town from New York this weekend and my mother is having a big cookout at the park. As usual, I have been asked to make a trifle. It usually gets devoured in like 10 minutes. Maybe I will take a walk through the park or something right before they serve dessert and it will be all gone when I get back :happy: BUT, she is going to have strawberry cake, pound cake, and some other cake :ohwell: *sigh* this is going to be a struggle, but I CAN DO IT!
Thanks for the encouragment, Jennifer!! I didn't do so well this weekend, although it could have been worse. But, I am back on track today. Before, if I "messed up" I would just say "oh well, I'll start over again on Monday." I've learned to get right back on track after a "slip". Today, I am extremely focused.0 -
I would think the easiest way to post weigh-ins would be to find your post from the week before and copy and paste then add your weight for the week.

I counted it last week and there were 23 weeks til Christmas and I would like to lose a pound a week until Christmas...more would be better but do not want to set my goal so high it is not attainable for me. I didn't do so good on Saturday (spent the day at a Bowling Tournament, limited food selections), but yesterday I did an extra workout and stuck to my plan.
This morning I did 40 minute workout and had a bowl of Cherrios with Skim milk.0 -
Happy Monday all. I didn't get a workout in this weekend (grrr) But I did get some pull time playing with the kids.
Breakfast 3 egg whites, banana and a WW english muffin.
I have my lunch and snacks logged already, and I think I know what I'm doing for dinner, but not 100% sure if it will be tonight or tomorrow.
Lunch is quinoa with grilled veggies and carrots and snacks are yogurt with berries and an apple.0 -
Didn't do so well this weekend. Had some beer and at badly on Saturday.
Gained a little over a pound but I am also about to have TOM so that could be part of it.
I have to eat really light today as we are having dinner at my friend's house and she does NOT cook diet healthy. So I will have to save my calories for that. Hopefully we will be home early enough to get in a work out.

Hey, y'all! I did fairly decent over the weekend (they are soooo tough for me). We had friends invite us out on Saturday so I got my butt on the trampoline for 1/2 an hour because I know that this lady never has healthy food. Tasty, but so much sugar and fat UGH! I must have done a good job on the trampoline because I broke the darn thing! Now I need a new one :grumble: . I did have some of her food, but I really controlled the portion size. Overall I was only 20 calories over.
Breakfast was low sugar (store brand) oatmeal with skim milk and green tea.
Lunch was green giant digestive health veggies, 1 piece whole wheat bread, a black bean veggie burger patty and some fresh cherries.
On a side note - does anyone know anything about APD (auditory processing disorder)? Would appreciate some input if you do.

For lunch I had thick yoplait yogurt with chopped walnut and a dab of cool whipped. yum thought I was eating a slice of lime pie.
For dinner We aare going out to eat. Our 53 Wedding anniversary. Wish me well on my food choice.
