When people start lecturing and saying others are stupid for perfectly valid diet choices. I don't subscribe to any particular plan, but instead just learned through trial and error what would be healthy for me; the result ended up pretty similar to paleo. I'm also very short and don't always eat more than 1200 calories.

But I swear, people who love all the popular diets and conventional wisdom/tips/tricks will rabidly jump all over anything remotely resembling that, like a diet without pasta and Wonder Bread is some sort of horrific and fatal decision masterminded by Satan himself. Look, I get that you have your own view on this, but you're not going to convince me that eating whole, nutritious foods is worse for me than the crap I was eating before. Seriously, quit taking it personally; it has nothing to do with you.

This is definitly one of my pet peeves as well. I had someone on here have the nerve to tell me that my diet choices (which are generally healthy ones) are why I stink after I work out. I stink after I work out because, well, I work out LOL Silly people.

People that get discouraged because of water weight fluctuations.

I wish everyone who started out knew how much of a ***** water weight can be and what it actually means in terms of fat loss, you could still be losing fat but the numbers don't show it and it just gets people down. It sucks.

 I am this person! And water weight is a Bi*ch!

    1. People who think any "diet" other then Eating healthy (and in the right portions) is healthy and going to let them lose weight and keep it off. (HCG,Sensa, Any other pill or anything like that)

    2. People who feel guilty about having that slice of cake..As long as you didn't eat the whole cake, and had a good rest of the day, ENJOY It and move on.

3.People that judge based on what someone is eating. If I'm at McDonalds, don't assume thats why I'm fat. I don't eat out to often and sometimes I am running around doing errands and I'm starving. I am going to enjoy my cheese burger, fries, and sweet tea, and move on, I may take an extra 20 min on the treadmill, or I may not. It's really my choice.

    4. People that tell you you are "doing it wrong" I understand giving someone a heads up if what they are doing is dangerous to their health, but our bodies are unique. Eating back some or even all my exercise calories works for me, it may not work for you, but don't tell me I'm wrong just because YOUR body doesn't work like mine.

    5. The FDA is not the be all end all of nutrition and all that is good. Just because they say it's safe doesn't mean it is (and just because they say it's not safe doesn't mean it isn't) Research, do your own study. Don't just follow blindly at what they may say.

    Oh And Let Me Add:

    6. I weighed myself 5 times today and by this evening I gained 3lbs, Whats wrong with me?? NOTHING there is nothing wrong with you, however through the day depending on what you eat, the salt you've had the water you've drank it is possible to gain. Stick with once a week weigh ins, around the same time to get a more accurate idea of your weight.

Everyone who says they're trying to loose weight. Like does it screw on and off?????

Thank you! I was waiting for someone to say that one! Another forum peeve of mine is that no one seems to read anyone else's thread on 'their' topic. How many concurrent 30DS threads do we need?? You are not a unique snowflake. :P

My pet peeve is that it doesn't matter what size I end up I'll still be out of proportion for high street shops. Got slim before & it makes no difference, if a dress fits my top half it's lIke a tent on my waist & hips & if it fits my hips it won't do up over my bust, yes I know, wear separates but it's a pain in the *kitten* that I can't just walk into a shop choose my size & buy a dress or even a button up top & it fits properly.

The answer... Take up sewing, specialist shops for well endowed ladies ( for crying out loud) or surgery.

Bloody hell this really is p***ing me off!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent ...!

Try Bravissimo or Pepperberry, they're designed with big boobs in mind.

    Ven

My biggest pet peeve is my Border Collie who flaunts his speed and agility every time we go to the dog park. I can't catch him to go home until he's done herding other dogs so I am forced to wait and wait. And then when we finally do go home, I have to exercise while he sleeps.

edited to note that I was in a weird mood and that this is a dogged attempt at humor.

    LOL loved that one :):)

I often see topics with almost the EXACT same title right next to each other on the front page. Yesterday I had to do a double take because I saw two topics with the same title right next to each other.

I'm also annoyed that sometimes it seems like people hardly read the opening post, let alone the rest of the tread, before putting their two cents in. Their answer sometimes make no sense at all.

I say "muscle weighes more than fat" alllll the time. I don't like that people pick at that. Obviously when you say that, and you're talking about on a specific person's body, the "per a unit of volume" is kind of implied. No one would ever actually think that a pound of muscle is more than a pound of fat. If you had a backpack filled with feathers and another filled with rocks, you wouldn't say that the one with rocks is "more dense" than the one with feathers (you'd just sound snooty - and that's coming from a science nerd), you'd just say it' weighs less, the "per a unit of volume" is implied!!

Re the HCG diet: I am an intelligent person and went on this diet. It doesn't have so much to do with stupidity as it does desperation. I did not do the injections, but I did take the real (not homeopathic) HCG (sublingual). I lost 13 lbs in 21 days and it was the jumpstart I needed. I am an instant gratification person (most people who are overweight ARE and that's how we end up overweight - we choose the instant joy of fattening/fast food over choosing and preparing healthy meals) and needed to see a dramatic weight loss quickly in order to become and stay motivated.

I'm grateful that I now found this site so I can keep going and reach my goal. I did a lot of research on the HCG diet before committing to it. It was very difficult to stay on it, but the science is there - it helps you maintain your muscle while using your fat stores for energy. So yes, you're only eating 500 calories a day, but you're accessing hundreds of additional calories (for fuel) from your fat stores. It's kind of like recycling yourself. In short - not stupid - just desperate to find motivation. It worked for me.

But you cannot get the nutrients you need on the hcg diet. You may lose weight but your body needs more than being skinny

My biggest pet peeve is people who are already at a healthy weight wanting to lose more than is safe for their body, and act like it's such a bigger deal than having to lose 100 pounds to get to a healthy weight

oh my goodness - yes! my best friend does this to me all the time.. it's so discouraging because i want to talk to them about what i'm going through, but it's like they're constantly trying to one up me on how they're "going through the same thing". so frustrating!

The idea that thin people always give great diet and wellness advice, and heavier people know nothing. A lot of heavier people have been on a healthy road for a long time, but just haven't hit their ideal weight. Many skinnier people are naturally that way, and have never had to think to much about reaching or maintaining a healthy weight.

I would like to "thumbs up" this several times over. Drives.me.crazy. "Muscle weighs more than fat" is a technically correct statement, implying that volume is the measurement. Replying with "a pound is a pound" is "correcting" something that isn't incorrect. GRRRAAAHHH.

Mine is that my husband finds the need to eat in the bedroom at night after I asked him not to (and he agreed). I crave junk so bad late at night.
