Ladies- can you walk in heels?

If I wear heels when I'm going to be walking a lot, I get severe lower back pain the next day (even with low heels).
So, I love how they look, but I can't do the heel thing often.0 -
Love heels too. i don't wear them unless I go out, but just walk with confidence and honestly, get good shoes. A good quality stiletto can be extremely comfortable!0

Now that I'm 40 lbs lighter I love wearing heels. I will only wear them if they are comfortable and finding an affordable/comfortable heel is sometimes hard to come by.
Does anyone have a problem with their heels becoming too big for them after losing weight? Its only by 1/2 an inch or so but when you walk it makes a difference if you feel like your foot is going to slide out a little. Is there anything you can do for them so they fit better? I hate to have to not wear them because my foot shrunk a little.0 -
I recommend starting with a wedge or espedrill (spelling ) One with ribbon that ties up your ankle may be a good start to get used to the feel, and help with balance. They are also great for spring and summer, once your good at that, move on to a pump, and don't forget inserts, I like Dr. sholls inserts.0

I NEVER wear heels. They hurt my feet too much. I'm 5'4 and okay with being short. I only wear flats!!0

Oh I do the park/ride to work so I go to work in a flat or a tennis shoe and then change into my heels at work. Yes I am one of those that you see wearing a pair of Nike's w/ a dress or skirt. I don't care...it saves my feet a ton!0

Absolutely can. I'm rocking 5" platform stilettos right now at work. Love, love, LOVE the way I feel when I wear heels :happy:0
-
I'm 5'10" and I ***LOVE*** to wear heels.
I like all kinds of heels, but my favorites are my 6" wedges.0 -
Hell to the no! LOL
I hate wearing heels of any height. My walk is so awkward in them and, besides, I'd rather walk around barefoot or in flip flops.
I wear them occasionally when I have to for social functions but they always end up coming off and I walk around barefoot, :laugh:0 -
I feel like a horse when I'm in heals, because all you here is clump clump clump. Boots and flats all the way.
Since I was a little girl, my favourite shoes have always been the ones that make a clickety-clic when I walked... Think red patent leather Mary-Janes (so glad I have girls now!)
Love heels and don't care that I stand taller than my hubby when I wear them!0 -
Not atm need to do more shoe shopping cos my.nsv is feet that have shrunk meaning most of my sexy heels are now too.big... That said give me a pair of snexy heels and lingerie and you.could stick me in a trash bag.and I'd feel great.x0

i wear heels almost everyday and im 5'11" barefoot. the weather up here is nice
my suggestion would be to start off with a high wedge style shoe. this offers balance while still giving you the heel height, plus theyre comfy! i personally dont like any heel less than 3.5inches.0 -
I buy them but can't walk in them, I feel so unstable and I look like an idiot.0
-
I feel sooooo sexy in my heels!!! I call them my stripper shoes!!!! LOVE THEM!!!!!0
-
I have more of a problem wearing flats than heels. I've always been a heel wearer. Today's shoes are 5" with a platform.0
-
I rock 4" heels daily0
-
Heels are more comfortable than flats, IMO.
If I'm going out, I'm most likely in heels0 -
I do not, unless I have no choice. I'm a tomboy at heart, and walking in heels is uncomfortable and makes me feel like a complete idiot0
-
I stick with flats. I find heels to be painful and too restrictive.0
-
I've tried heels and its just not for me. Balancing my weight on two little things is not easy10
-
Love wearing heels! Makes me feel sexy! I wear them all the time when I leave the house.0
-
I wish I could walk in heels. First I'm 5'9 1/2 and my hubby is 5'10" so if I wear them I'm taller. Second I've never really tried that often so I am unsure of myself in them. I feel like a linebacker walking! hahaha
Any suggestions, because I love the look of them. Sexy and classy.
i'm in the EXACT same situation as you, and I live in NM where (generally) people are shorter than average. When I wear heels, I totally stick out.....but my husbands cousin mentioned something the other day (she's 5'9") because she wears heels....she said that her height isn't changing anytime soon and she would rather rock an awesome pair of shoes then wear flats her whole life. She's right! I've bought 2 pairs of heels / wedges since. So, my lesson is "OWN IT!!"0 -
Love heels, just practice and take long strides when walking in them. It'll get easier.0
-
I can't wear heals because I have hyper mobility syndrome in my legs and feet. I need flats Would love to wear heals!!0
-
To work, I don't. I work around a bunch of horny prior military men and all my heels look like they would provide me added height to get up the pole. I have a couple pair of Work heels, but they are mostly 5" with 1" platforms....... I wear them out all the time though. Gone bowling in them, dancing, out to eat...... whatever. If I am dressing up, I am wearing heels. I am 5'9" and it makes me REALLY tall, but I love them.0
-
I love high heels. But I'm 5'8 and I hate being taller than all of the guys around. Makes me feel like a friggin' giant.0
-
I love low heels or a chunky higher heel. More support=easier to walk.0
-
Im 5'8" and LOVE wearing heels!!! but practice makes perfect0
-
I am 5'7-5'8 if I stand up straight (which I am working on lol) my hubs is 5'11 so I tower over him in heels but they make me feel sexy and with my self esteem I need all that I can get. I don't care if I feel like a giant I love heels/shoes in general.
But yes I can walk in them, though over the years I haven't worn them too often so I have had to "relearn" how to walk elegantly lol0 -
I have child sized feet (and hands, I'm such a freak) so heels usually aren't an option for me. On rare occassions I can sometimes find 1-2 in heels when visiting Europe, but in Canada it's darn near impossible for me to find adult looking shoes in a child size 3!
Ergo, I wear flats. A lot. I dream of the day when I can find a shiny pair of heeled boots in my size!0
