ilike2moveit - You're really holding yourself accountable for that splurging! No wonder you've been so successful at losing those pounds. I'm sure you'll get back on track tomorrow.

For dinner tonight I made the "Grecian Chicken" recipe that's on mfp (posted by jnikitow). I really liked it! Very filling and very tasty. I still haven't lost weight this past week, but I'm more focused and hope to do better next Monday.

Going to be weighing in later today (yes I know you should do it in the morning but I don't own a scale so can only do it when I visit my parent's house) but I'm nervous because i feel like I've gained. Feeling a bit bloated today for some reason...

    we shall soon see.

Well no loss this week, holding steady. Not so bad since we were away for 4 days again and eating was mostly out of my control. C'est la vie. Once the summer is over I think this will be easier, not as many social engagements.

Congrats to everyone with loses! You are all an inspiration.

To those of us holding steady or small gains, keep on going. Those scales will tip in our favor before we know it. Don't get discouraged, that is when we are our own worst enemies.

    Have a happy week.

I'm skipping a week because personally I do not want to be discouraged by any weight gained. (Which I will be.) I'd rather be pleasantly surprised when i weigh in next week. But I weigh in every wed. other than this one time. I suppose I could weigh in and accept the gain but we'll see . . .

I've been on vacation and I splurged. I haven't had a doughnut in over a year so we stopped at krispy kreme and ate doughnuts, I also ate other junk foods that I normally don't eat. I enjoyed myself and decided that I wasn't going to worry about it while I was on vacation. I weighed in at night with all my clothes on (I normally weigh naked in the morning) and I was 153 - so I'm back to the grind....
Congrats to all who lost and congrats to all who are persevering.
I knew that my weight would be heavier since I weighed in at night. I couldn't wait until next week so I weighed myself this morning and I was 149. I'm happy with that number considering how I ate and didn't always get the chance to exercise.

Knowing yourself is most important. I used to work at a weight loss center and lots of people actually never wanted to look at the scale. We'd weigh them quietly and congrats them if they had hit a personal goal but no mention of numbers.

Just a thought on the weighing in topic...whatever works for you, the only person you can cheat is yourself.

Great job this week! I will check in with a good number tomorrow IF I stay away from the cupcakes I'm making for my son's class tonight!!!!

    Hi All!
Sorry I did not get in here last week to report my weigh-in and tomorrow we are headed to Montana for the rest of the week for a family reunion! I have really been struggling with eating! Every time I turn around there is another birthday or a party and it is killing me. I have had more cake in the last ten days then you could imagine!!! Both of my kids birthday's! Oh well, once we get back from vaca I am promising myself and everyone else that I will get back on the wagon....I have to do this or I will forever feel like I am an awful person that never gets anywhere!
I also bounce between 172-175 and I feel like I am never going to break 170....
    CW=174
    HAve a good week ALL!

    Fantastic!!!
Of course, I will weigh in Wednesday, but I had to check in on some of my good friend's progress! You are all looking great!!
Also, we have August approaching... Those of you who did the July 1st pics.... We will also do August 1st pics... I will have to do mine a little early because we are leaving August 1st for vacation, so I will probably do mine on July31st!
Good luck to you guys... YOu are all doing awesome!!

Kandy! I was wondering where you were, I hadn't seen you around in a whiel!
  • Only down .5 this week...a bit discouraging since I worked really hard. My health educator said it could be retained water from this unusual heat wave...I hope so. 13 pounds in 4 weeks is good progress I just need to keep it up. Hoping for a big number next week!

    Hey everyone!
I think everyone is doing a great job!
I will be honest last week was a rough week being that TOM and work related stuff going on. I got a little depressed when I saw a 2 pound gain last week.(Developed a good case of denial) So I skipped last week. (sorry) But I am going to weigh in tomorrow morning and I will own up to it good or bad. I am nervous tho.

I'm amazed...I feel so much better than April 2009 when I weighed 223. June 2nd I joined MFP at 214. And today I weighed in at 199.6.

Okay, so I had to take off my wedding ring, earrings and necklace to do it...but 199.6 is just that - under 200! :blushing:

I'm so grateful to members of "JUNE STARTERS" started by "kandyjo" and "Fit By Fall" started by "mrsprazak05" and "Low Carb-ers Chanllenge to Choose Change" started by "SassySouthernGirl". These three ladies and their group members have inspired and encouraged me to reach a goal I sometimes never even considered starting because I didn't think I'd ever be successful...so I was a quitter before I even started!

Now I get it, just one day at a time - one calorie at a time, one minute of exercise at a time. It's so much easier when it's small steps. I'm on my way!

SO I was hoping for a big loss this week I worked my butt off and really want my vacation weight gone, but much to my dismay it's not all gone yet:sad:
    LW : 212

-2lbs, so a loss which is great but I was really hopping for more. Good News is if I keep losing just 2lbs a week in 27 weeks I'll be at my goal! Which is just after the new year.....

This weekend is my birthday party though so I'll be happy if I just don't gain!! I will be indulging in alcohol but I won't be TOO bad with the food:drinker:

That is a great way to think about it. Let's see. If I lose 2 lbs a week I will be at my goal in 22 weeks. Seems like a long time, but I can live with that.

Potentially that is 8 - 10 lbs a month which is also a good way to look at it...

This morning - 165.5 and it's my TOM.

Last week was 166, I think? Weird week though, some mornings the scale bounced all the way up to 169, but was never lower than this morning. Oh well. I do have a lot of water retention, I can feel it as well as see it in my hands.

    Otherwise, feeling good

O.k. I couldn't help myself. I've been working really hard to work off the weekend and I drank way more water to flush out any sodium. I'm very diasapointed.

    Last week- 178.5
    CW- 180.5

    :explode:

You know what though, I still weigh 14.5 lbs less than when I started this journey. I'll just have to work a little harder to get to my goal of 170 by August 31. I think I can do it. Maybe.

Hey guys! Today I weighed in for the first time since last Wednesday. Made it a whole week without weighing and I think that is an accomplishment considering I would weigh multiple times per day.

I am happy with my weight loss this week! Right on schedule. Really happy considering I ate several treats along the way (dairy queen peanut buster parfait, cookout food). I think this is a true testament that you can still eat the foods you love IN MODERATION and still lose weight. We can all rejoice to that! :)

2lbs is great (sorry all the vacation weight isn't gone yet...but you had fun right?)! Most Dr's say 1 to 2 lbs a week is a good healthy weight loss. I'm one of those people who plans on 1 lb a week and then am pleasantly surprised with 2 lbs!
