"Lololol, I'm gonna post a mildly offensive sexist/homophobic question my brother put to me on the internet instead of telling him he's dumb"

If someone had posted a similar stereotyping comment about, say, an ethnic minority, people wouldn't be discussing it, they'd be like...eh wtf? (Will not post example because racism isn't as socially acceptable as sexism ;])

Basically, dinny generalize a whole gender, and suggesting that the straight women who maybe kiss their friends when drunk or enjoy a bit of girl on girl porn are the same as girls that have loving relationships with members of the same sex is a bit degrading to actual bisexual women.

ETA: Also, the reason bi curious women are seen to be more common than men is because A/It's more acceptable for women to kiss each other so men can perve on them, B/Society judges women on how they look, therefore women judge how other women look (for good or bad), C/Most straight men still see being considered gay a negative thing, and therefore are less likely to say another man is attractive or kiss another guy is less acceptable.

Also I know it was they OPs brother that said this, but the OP posted it...

Oh shut up, You're like the only one getting your panties in a twist. Back out of the topic if you don't like it.

I think the woman’s body is hot and I have done my share of “experimenting” if that’s what we want to call it… although I wouldn’t call myself “Bi” because I wouldn’t ever have a “relationship” with a woman…

We were talking about this in my psych class yesterday. It turns out that it is true. Girls have sexualy placsity and the brain cares more that we get off when we are horny then who gets it off. Thank our ancestors for this. Did you also know that the more older brothers a guy has increases his chances of being gay along with what hormones are present before birth.

    hahahahahahahaha.

    mmmm so true,

I often fantasy about women and have watched girl on girl.

I would totally do stuff with women, they are so sexy.

IMO I AM STRAIGHT but I do appreciate the female form

I was talking to my brother yesterday, and he was talking about this girl in his office that was "bi" and he said "but that doesn't matter because every straight girl is "bi""

    True?

Nope... I know Im definitely not interested in the same gender at all. Im mad-crazy over my 6'6" neanderthal, grease-monkey, truck drivin' man!

My two cents: Recreational sex is different from a committed relationship. Orientation, for me, refers to your committed partner's gender and your own. Promiscuity (or recreation to be less judgmental) is not your orientation. But I have no clue what I am talking about, either.

Um...i thought someones sexuality was a personal preference?

I dont think all women are bi at all, i find woman attractive but im married to a male and i dont want to go out and shag every woman i think looks good. I highly doubt what sex your siblings are is going to determine wether you like doodles or not.

Sexuality is not a personal preference (in the sense of I pick to be gay/straight) IMO it is something you are born with, there is no choosing. Unless of course you choose to deny your real sexuality of course.

Edit: quick google http://faculty.mckendree.edu/scholars/2001/schilling.htm regarding sexuality and birth order. I remember a documentary John Barrowman did a few years ago into the genetic of sexuality. Very interesting (didn't come to any solid conclusions)

haha it's true, girls don't admit it. They "THINK" it's something else. Sometimes if you ask a girl if she's bi she'd tell you no, but then a week later she tells you she had a girlfriend.

Ask a girl this, "if you where watching an adult film, would you rather watch guy on guy action, or girl on girl action." This was done in a study. No one liked the guy on guy action, everyone liked the girl on girl action. This was tested with both sexes.

Sexuality is more on a spectrum. Guys are either very straight or very gay, not really in between. Girls fall in to the between category.

Funny, I totally agree with the spectrum but think its less gender specifc, males and females can fall anywhere on it. I certainly have bi tendencies.

My biggest point here though (and something I have never shared before) is that I LOVE guy on guy porn.
  • No dont get me wrong!

I know its not somthing you chose to be, ofcourse. I just mean to say i doubt that because someone has so many brothers they are going to be gay or the fact that its in your genes. It just is and i think telling people that its caused by these things could be a harmful thing.

This is wrong. So very wrong.

The reasoning behind women wanting to watch girl on girl over guy on guy is because it is more sensual and erotic, not because there are two naked women. This was also studied very closely. It does not make them bisexual or even close to it. We are just typically less visual and more erotic/sensual and girl on girl pornography is usually much more sensual, romantic, sexy, etc.

I do agree that men are typically more black and white when it comes to sexuality and what they're into, but it is not always the case. There are plenty that fall into the in between category.

    Let me rephrase...

I think girls are more capable of finding each other's physical attributes attractive than men are with other men. :)

Doesn't mean every girl would actually bang another girl.

    Well said!

  • I am the only girl in a family with four children... and yes, my youngest brother is gay. I honestly think that there is a difference betweeen sex and appreictation for beauty. i also believe that there are many people that do not realize that they are unwilling to even concieve of a homosexual "act" is because it has been ingrained into them that it is wrong. Then there are the people that do it, because they were told it is wrong. And then there are the people that are born to prefer the same sex to the opposite sex. I personally believe that the amount of estrogen or testosterone in a person's body can lead to the way they see sex, the way they view an attractive person, either gender, and that ultimately, everyone is physically capable of choosing what they do and do not act upon. I wouldn't say that all people are "bi" nor would I say that most people fall "in the middle" on the spectrum of sexuality... there are straight people, there are gay people... and then there are people that are up for what life throws at them. Sometimes, it's about being in the moment... not what it "means"...

I think its safe to say no. If you take a look at all the previous posts there is a combination of everything including just being "straight" and there is nothing wrong with that. I have not fantasized, experimented or anything like that with a girl and I have never wanted to, I love being married to a man and I think that would make me full out straight.
