We're having pancakes for dinner tonight (we love breakfast for dinner...) and I'm looking for an alternative to maple syrup for a topping. Anyone have any ideas?
    I don't.

How do you like that answer.

Sometimes I use pumpkin butter. It's really good!
But usually, I just "splurge" on a little real maple syrup.

Please tell me it's actually REAL and not some crap store bought stuff that's not maple syrup lol

Put some fresh blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries in your pancakes when you cook them. Bananas work too. Top with 1 tablespoon of light whipped cream. SO good. It tastes like dessert and you totally don't even need syrup.

I just thought of this.Fresh or frozen strawberries for 1 cup are 50 cal and the light cool whip is only 20 cal per Tbs. Thanks for asking this, I never would have thought about...weird hun? I made crapes the same way for a fabulous desert. Premade crapes with the strawberries mixed with truvia to give it some syrup then add the cool whip

I mixed low-cal syrup into the pancake batter. You still get the syrup taste but I find you use considerably less than putting it on top.

My mom used to mix cream and brown sugar and bring to a boil on the stove. It's like the carmel on a carmel roll.
OMG... so good. Haven't had that in a decade. mmmmmmm

I add some banana slices to the pancakes just after they go on the griddle, then top with a little peanut butter. Delicious!

I try to avoid having pancakes or waffles more than 1-2 times a month, though, since I don't do well with all the simple carbs.

I may try adding some whey protein to my next round of pancakes, just to see if it helps keep me from being hungry again a couple of hours later.

½ cup of oatmeal, 4 egg whites, 1/3 cup fat free cottage cheese and some splenda in the blender

Then cook in a pan like 4 min each side..

Top with sugar free syrup even a lil banana slices
