Serious bewb question, no pervs please

We have just opened up our pool / hot tub. (Spring has arrived in my neck of the woods -yay) On Friday we will have company for the weekend and the hot tub will be where we hang out for the evening. I don't have the time nor the inclination to go buy another bathing suit... but my two from last year are too big -gaping... and one I bought for the future fits better in the body but covers a wee (okay a LOT) bit less than I am used to.. I go for FULL bewb coverage, so will wearing something that is in no way porn-starish but still more revealing than usual make me look like I'm out of my mind / grasping / attention seeking / etc. ??????
This is a big change and I'm very nervous to present myself to our friends in a way that I have never done before. I'm considering skipping the hot tub and waiting for when it's just me and hubby...

Welcome!

Wear what you are comfortable with, by all means.

And who knows, maybe your friends will appreciate the new, skimpier suits on you. :flowerforyou:

You didn't ask a question, but my recommendation for this scenario would be to buy a new bathing suit that makes you feel more comfortable.

If you are uncomfortable then don't do it, there's nothing worse than being self-conscious all night! Maybe wear a cover up or go ahead and buy a suit with a little more coverage for times like this.

Why can't I post here!?!?!?!? So unfair!!!!!

To answer in my opinion though, I think you'll probably spend a lot more time worrying about it than other folks will. You said yourself it's not indecent, so it'll be fine. The real question is how it will affect you. If it'll ruin your night, then you may want to consider getting a new suit. If not, then have fun rocking the dental floss (kidding)

No matter what your size, go out and get things that fit properly and look nice. You will always feel and look your very best if you do. And you will never have to worry about how you feel or what people think, of falling out or anything.

wear the new top, but wear a tank top over it- there is no reason to miss your own party fun- just cover the puppies up a bit- you will be more comfortable eventually!

Good for you for needing a smaller size!

When in doubt or questioning your comfort level you might want to wait. But I am the wrong person to ask. I feel more self conscious in a swimming suit that nude. So I never wear one.

Do what feels most comfortable to you. If you don't feel comfortable being more uncovered than don't. I do agree with a poster above - you are probably more worried about it than your friends are. Good luck with your decision.

I'd take this more seriously if the word "bewb" wasn't used.

When I'm with family I go with a one piece suit and shorts over it. If you only have a 2 pc - just wear a t-shirt over it. That's a pretty common cover when nothing else is available.

Without a doubt, do what you are comfortable with. If you aren't comfortable in the suit it will be VERY obvious. Maybe try it on for hubby and ask his opinion - but if YOU think you need more coverage, just go pick up something new. You'll be able to enjoy your friends WAY more if you're comfortable!

It's your pool/hot tub. Why can't you wear whatever suit is comfortable with a t-shirt over top?
  • Why not wear a tank top or something over it?

NO, but it is YOUR hot tub!!! you can wear what you want! A sports bra, a pair of pastys, nothing at all...... I would wear the one that is revealing. It is probably not as bad as you see it in your mind anyway.

You've gotten a lot of responses here to dress in a way that feels comfortable to you, and that is certainly sound advice. In addition to that, I want to address your point about if you would look like you were grasping or seeking attention. I pay close attention to this myself for how I dress and I pay careful attention to others and how they do or don't pull it off. In my "field research" I've come to the conclusion that what you wear makes no difference, but who you really are always seems to shine through, for better or for worse unfortunately. I have seen people who are dressed modestly who give off the "grasping" vibe, and people who are dressed like nutjobs who instantly make me feel comfortable and seem self-possessed. I think the whole thing boils down to how you feel about yourself. If you are grasping for attention, that'll come through. If you are judging yourself as inappropriate, others will pick up on that and judge you too. If you say to yourself, "*kitten* it, I deserve to enjoy a hot tub and no one ever died from seeing cleavage" then others will likely pick up on that and enjoy you too!!! Live it up!!

I'm sorry, but that is far to socially aware for this late in the work day on a Wednesday.

How, exactly, does a 'nutjob' dress?

You liked it when you bought it. Your friends might like it too. Just try it on and ask hubby what he thinks !
