Hello all you lovely ladies!! I have been gone from this site for a couple of weeks, AND I CAN FEEL IT!! I haven't been nearly as active or aware of my eating habits since I left.

Anyway, I was looking for a support group and there isn't one that has just started, so I thought "Hey, why not!"

And so, here we are!! I would love to join with other ladies who want some support and friendship along this journey! And who want to rock our bodies, just the way they are! We are works in progress, so we might as well embrace where we are now and look forward to our goals!!!

Anyway, please feel free to comment and we will get this rolling! We can post pics if you want, figure out weigh in schedules and mini goals if we want to..it's all open for discussion!! Post any ideas and we'll go from there!!!

Embrace who you are now, it will make working towards your goal so much better!!!

I'm very interested. There are a log of great groups on this site but starting with one at the beginning will be great. I've been on here a little over a month. Love the site, checking in every day really keeps me focused. Thanks for starting this, I look forward to getting to know everyone.

    I'm in I'm in!

I weigh-in on Wednesdays -- "Weekly Wednesday Weigh-in" i like to call it. It helps me remember. And also helps me not step on those scales if its Tuesday or Friday.

I'm not a great goal maker - I always make them too hard to achieve and then I'm left empty & angry that I didn't reach it. This I need help with.

Anyway - I'm happy you started a group today - I'm famous for missing the 'start' of groups! :flowerforyou:

Would love to join as lacking support and motivation! Looking forward to the group chats!
  • I'd like to join-I started logging on this site a month ago but I feel I could use the extra motivation. I'm going back up to college in a week and will be getting busier, so I'd like to be part of a flexible group that supports each other.

  • i would love to join! i just started this a week ago and i have already noticed a difference! Over the past 2 years i have gained 50+ lbs. due to some life stresses and lack of confidence. I've noticed how my weight gain and depression has really taken my life in a downward spiral. My goal is to feel more confident and be able to be better @ my job. Oh yeah! for the last year i have been working as a landscaper in the spring summer fall and i am a shoveler during the winter months. i also clean a preschool @ night which is also quite a workout. you would think i would lose weight working out so much but i dont do to the fact that i always need a quick random meal. i try to pick healthy meals but how healthy is the hess gas station or a dollar menu. Lately I have been changing my meal choices to things i bring from home and been using this website as a great tool! one problem i have is finding healthy tasty foods, could anyone help me with that?

I'm so happy to have found the start of a group. I need the encouragement and just people to share in the journey with me. I guess I'll start & share my story. If you want to call it that

I'm 24 & a mommy of 2 (4 if you count my dog & husband) oh yeah, I also acquired a 17year old this summer. :noway: I work full time & my husband stays home full time with the kids. This is why I find it hard to get in exercise, I feel terrible for wanting to go to the gym or even workout here at the house after I get out of work because I know my hubs has been here all day with the kids & needs a break. He supports me in the food aspect of my lifestyle change, but i understand his lack of effort in getting me to work out  Work is a lost cause. My boss tells me daily that I'm obsessed with my weight & that I need to stop starving myself. My co-workers are constantly complaining about how they can't lose weight and I'm tired of the "you need to stop losing weight, you'll look sick!" I just want to scream at them all. Anybody can see my food diary - i'm hardly starving myself. And just because I have the motivation to work out at 10pm at night, doesn't mean I'm obsessed!!!! Whew, now that that is off my chest. I just want to lose these last 30lbs. They won't budge. I need the serious support/motivation to get my diet on track so I can start losing again. I don't want people to judge me for losing - I didn't realize people even did that until I went back to work after my maternity leave having lost 40lbs. I also have a bet with my Dad for who can lose the highest % of weight by the time we leave for vacation in September. $50 for winning it and another $50 for whoever keeps off the most or loses more between September and New Years Day. I WANT his money. LOL

Anyway, that's my book & my life in a nutshell. I LOVE this site its such a great tool and the help & support I hope to gain from you 'lovely ladies' is priceless.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Lets get this party started!!! Weigh-in tomorrow! :noway:

Good morning ladies. I'm really excited about this group. Here is my story...

I'm a single mom of two teenage daughters. I reached my goal weight after having babies 7 years ago, I did great and kept it off for 3 years then, however over the last 4 years laziness and lack of focus caused me to gain back the weight I had lose (23 pounds). So I refocused myself and started this journey on June 8th. Since then I'm down 14 pounds. I am committed to making this a lasting lifestyle change. I am very focused on getting exercise every day, I am working on the Couch 2 5k plan with a goal of running a 5 k in October. I am addicted to this website, I love reading everyone elses story, how much we can learn from each other. It is hard day to day to stay focused without support, this place is GREAT!

Good morning! I am 32, a single mother of 3 (12 - 9- 5, youngest starts kindergarten on monday!) and I work full time and have a long commute...not a lot of free time to say the least! When I was married I was depressed and found myself hovering around 220...once I realized I was not happy and my ex and I seperated (emotionally and mentally, but not physically) I began going for walks after working 12 hours...and eating better. Finally thinking of myself alittle and lost about 40 pounds! I was in a whirlwind romance continued to lose a little and a little more once that ended at the same time my best friend moved over 5 hours away. :brokenheart: That didn't last long! Finally being "alone" and having all the stress with no one to talk to drove me back to the one thing I knew was there and that "pleased" me...FOOD! Now I find myself back over 180 and again, overwhelmed, depressed and loathing myself at times. I need to break the cycle...to give myself something to work on and obtain successes as little as they may be to add to the greater goal. So here I am... Trying to eat better (have to kick the Chick-n-mini habit grrrr) and hitting the gym at lunch and Saturday mornings, here the journey begins!!!

    Morning All,

I am 46 (by only a week) , a married mother of 2 beautiful girls (16 and 12). Both DH and I work full time, and also have a hobby that fills our weekends during the summer. Weekends are when I have the hardest time keeping to my healthy eating. :grumble: I am awake by 5am to walk the dog, and then workout for an hour. I try to workout 6 days a week, incorporating weight and cardio. I am a home exerciser that has way to many DVD's! :blushing: I have been down to my goal weight just a couple of years ago, and then this funny thing happened AGE! Seems no matter how much I exercised or ate right I gained weight. I think I sort of gave up for a time, because what was the use. I was still exercising, but not eating very well. Now I'm on the journey down again, and have found workouts that are motivational. Jillian Michaels is a workout queen as far as I am concerned. I have also started to run again, and am feeling and looking better all the time. Glad to be part of this group.

Age definitely makes a difference. I swear my metabolism shut off at 37 that's when I gave up too, now 42 I'm determined to not give up!! I also LOVE Jillian Michaels, she is easy to follow, not too girly, seems like a real person.

Happy Wednesday, Lovely Ladies!!:flowerforyou: Sorry I haven't checked in earlier, it has been a mad housecleaning day at my house! But you ladies have been on my mind today anyway. So yesterday I didn't have a chance to get my normal workout in, so I did 2 of the Tony Horton 10 minute trainer videos - my goodness, they may be short but he still makes you use all of your muscles and you are getting a pretty decent cardio workout as well - he uses every second of that ten minutes! I love hearing everyone's stories, I will post mine the next time I check in ( I would do it now but this post is already getting pretty long - sorry).

ok, so here goes for my Wednesday Weigh In!

Reverted back to some emotional eating last week - :grumble: not bad, just a little bit, but enough to stay at 235 for the moment. Hmmmm....Well, I guess I just need to use this as a little reminder why it's not good to fall back into bad habits. But, I am not going to dwell on last week, I am looking forward to next Wednesday, keep a positive attitude and move forward!! :drinker: (by the way, that is ice water with lemon that my little drinker man is saying cheers with!!!

    Hi all,

    Some great losses this week!

It's great to read about everyone's background, here's mine.. I'm 36, married and have 3 boys, 8, 6 and 3. I work full time as a 2nd grade teacher. I've really been working hard this summer with exercise and eating, so I have to figure out a new routine once school starts in a few weeks.

I had a great weigh in this week and lost just over 3 pounds.

I also love Jillian Michaels and do her 30 minute Shred or the Biggest Loser strength training.

    Hi Ladies,

    Great to see everyones updates.

I've been working on Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones - it is very similar to her 30 day shred but is 60 minutes instead of 20, really love the exercises, the planks kill me but I'm amazed at how much stronger I am each time I do it. That girl really knows how to get results.

Looking forward to a quiet weekend at home, haven't had one in a while, should have lots of good time to exercise and cook some healthy stuff!!! I'm so much better when I have leftovers to bring for lunches during the week - does anyone have any particular favorites they like to make ahead? this week I made a really healthy Lasagna. Wheat noodles, spinach, muchrooms and red peppers - Yummy!!!

Keep up the great work :)
