Morning all. Amazing what a little exercise can do for the soul. It makes you feel like a million bucks.
Yesterday I felt like a big fat turd.
Today, I put 1 kid on the bus, walked 2 miles, came home to find the 3 middle schoolers ready, sent them out the door, hit the gym, lifted, ran 2 miles and rode the bike.
Now I feel great and have no intention of eating crap after I worked so hard! I'm eating my egg beaters and strawberry smoothie as I type.
I think I'll even go and log my food. Novel idea.0 -
Quick question. Oatmeal. I keep reading how good it is for you, a great food to eat, etc. I have tried, really I have. I tried again today. Quaker quick oats. Can't do it. Am I missing something? A way to make me not want to gag upon putting it in my mouth. I don't even like the stuff with extras- like brown sugar and cinammon, etc. Maybe I'm not cut out for oatmeal.0

Thanks for all the support first, just to let you know yesterday is what I needed to let me know I dont need that jumk in my systems I dont even think I tasted half of it.
Proud to announce this morning got up at 445 headed out for my walk/run with my son and proud to announce we burned 558 calories in abotu an hour I am so proud, came home ate my oatmeal and banana now fixin to have a apple,
Lori I agree what exersice can do for you I have been going strong since 445 in the morning. Well off to get my apple and hey I even logged it as a matter of fact i have all my food logged for the day already, thought I would get a jump on it while 8 week old baby is sleeping..0 -
good morning black team!! today i got on the scale and was AMAZED to see that i was 149.6!! which means i have lost 50 POUNDS!!! OMG...i am so happy right now.

Tamara, I absolutely will keep you in my prayers. Wow, a half marathon, and I am freaking out about a 5K. Makes me feel pretty petty! :laugh:
Went for a 45 minute walk / run today, 350 calories gone.I CAN RUN! I discover in order to run you have to lift your knees, why I never figured this out before is beyond me. I used to jog at this slow pace and be exhausted a short distance, I still can't go far but I can run!!!:drinker:

Hey losers- yeah, I'm talking to you people who keep losing weight! :laugh:
How close do you pay attention to your macronutrients? Protein is HARD for me. It's rare that I get in enough unless I eat chicken for every freaking meal.
For instance lunch. Spring salad, with feta cheese, sunflower seeds, strawberries (love these salads), yogurt, banana with natural peanut butter- 525 calories of good for me food but only 18 g of protein.
I need to eat 70 more grams of protein to hit my goal for the day. I'll be eating a protein bar for snack and then STILL need a load.0 -
Well I am back after a pretty good weekend. Great in terms of exercise, and ok in terms or food. I ran a half marathon this weekend. It went really well. It was a down hill run most the way. It is known for allowing people to set personal best times, which I did. I finished at just over 1:47. So I was really pleased with that. My heart rate monitor said I burned over 1700 calories. Needless to say I didn't log my food for the day just enjoyed what I eat, but still made pretty good choices and allowed for dessert. Sunday didn't get logged either. But have logged everything today so far. So hopefully I can stay on the wagon all week and actually lose weight.
Lori- every time I read one of your posts it is like you are in my head. I am so in the same place as you. I completely agree with you that I have changed but not enough. I just don't know what else to do to make that complete change that I never want to eat unhealthy again.0 -

I spent lots of time sweeping and vacuuming up the cat hair! I think I found another cat in all that mess under the furniture. That's ridiculous! It smells so good downstairs now. I love that clean smell!0 -

Seriously, you eat all your protein and not your carbs? What do you eat? I could eat my carb allowance 3 times over in a day. What are yours set at? The MFP presets? I change mine and I have mine set to 50 % carbs, 25% fat and protein. One of those other things I spent hours/days researching the 'right' amount.
BTW- there is no right amount, but that is a happy medium.
I never even look at my sugar number. Most of what I eat is from fruit and I'm not about to give that up. I track sodium and fiber with the other 3. This is of course when I really log my food, which has been few and far between lately!0 -

Good Morning black team
I am wonderfuly fantastic this morning, such a better mood then the other day, tomorrow I will be back to current weight so will not show a loss but also not a a gain and its under goal weight so why should I be upset, I am very proud of myself.
Woke up at 445 with son and we did our run, 5 miles one hour one minute 550 calories burned, I am eating my oatmeal while I am doing this and I notice that I am only half way down with my oatmeal and I am full. Great news...
Hope everyone has a great tuesday, I will be on here later my 8 week old is here to babysit. Oh yeah I will do my Jillian Micheals 30 day shred later when son gets home from school so he can watch the baby. My son is fricken fabulous. So it my daughter oh and my husband, I have great family.0 -

I have to make sure I am not so busy teaching her I forget about me. Then youngest dd starts her special preschool program in two weeks and that will complicate things more. I will make it work.

make kids lunch while DS takes a shower
make my daughter breakfast
my son gets out of shower
my daughter and I get in shower one at a time of course
out of the shower by 645 do hair get dressed
brush daughter hair
705 take daughter to school home by 720
have oatmeal in mircowave by 730
8 week old baby I babysit gets here by 745-800
I think this works for me I am glad, that I started doing this my husband said why dont you run after the kids go to school I said because then I will have abigail (8 week old) with me and I am glad to have most of it done before she gets here, except the 30 day shred with jillian micheals I will do that when son gets home from school so he can help me with the baby if she cries.

Amanda- we are such creatures of habit, it's hard to change, especially if we like it the way it is. You are right, you will find a way, you will make it work, it's what we do as parents. Our lives aren't really ours, no matter what we think. Our lives are based on our kids and their needs that day/week/month/year. I think it's what we signed up for when we became mommies.
My middle school kids are at a new school with new hours, it's screwing with my schedule and my routine. I shall also adjust, but not before I make it known I don't like it first! :laugh:0
