cup of coffee with 2 tbsp of 1/2 and 1/2
whole wheat toast (somedays I just use 1 slice, somedays 2...somedays I get smartwheat/higher fiber)
3 slices extra lean turkey bacon
    1 xl scrambled egg
a days of texas pete hot sauce. (usually all of the above is a sandwich...) :)
  • Breakfast is my lightest meal of the day because no matter what, Im an evening snacker while watching tv lol.... I usually eat a banana, or an apple slice crunch pack around 8 and around 10 I eat sensible portions veggie chips or a granola bar. I dont let myself eat more then 200 calories before lunch.

I'm new here, but I like poached eggs with spinach and grape tomatoes with whole grain toast or Greek yogurt (the new bars are delicious, too). Egg white omlettes with fresh salsa and avocado slices fills me up, too. Happy eating!

Vanilla Herbalife shake with 3/4 cup Silk Vanilla Almond milk, 1/2 a banana, and some ice in a blender.
  • That looks amazing! I definitely have to try this. Thanks for the idea

It's different on weekends when I have time to "cook" breakkie, but during the work day, it's pretty standard. Today:

    Egg-Land's Best - Hard-Cooked Peeled Eggs, 1 egg 60 0 1 5 55 0 Ico_delete
    the Baker - Wheat & Flax Bread, 1 slice 100 18 0 6 105 5 Ico_delete
    Tribe - Organic Hummus Classic, 2 Tbsp (28 grams) 50 4 0 2 100 1 Ico_delete
    Saputo - Lorraine Cheese Reduced Fat, 1 slice 90 0 4 8 75 0 Ico_delete
    Starbucks - Hazelnut Syrup Sugar Free, 2 Tbsp 0 0 0 0 20 0 Ico_delete
    Starbucks - Iced Brewed Coffee (Black) - Tall, 1 serving(s) (12 fl oz ea.) 5 0 0 0 10 0 Ico_delete
    Add Food Quick Tools 305 22 5 21 365 6

Not always Starbucks, usually I grab coffee (black) made at the office. I toast up the bread, spread some hummus on it, throw on some spinach if I have any, a slice of cheese and munch on that + egg while checking the morning email.

Some days I'll have 0% Fage mixed with fruit of choice and agave syrup and if I'm feeling it some kind of granola/flax/oat mix or pistachios or almonds for crunch.

    1tsp butter
    1 medium apple, chopped
    1 tsp cinnamon
1 serving oatmeal or red river
1/2 serving milk or greek yogurt

I make it with red river& greek yogurt for 332 calories. I melt the butter, add the apple and cinnamon, cook until soft and yummy, then cook the cereal and add the yogurt.

I also make a 3 egg omelette with an assortment of veggies for 300ish cals. Closer to 400 if i add cheese.

I use a 'Red Solo' cup for measuring a Strawberry/Banana Protein Smoothy

1/2 a banana cut in half and peeleed
Whole frozen strawberries (place 1/2 banana in cup and fill the rest of the way up with strawberries)
    Dump into blender
1/4 C. Soy Milk or Low Fat Milk
    Dump into blender
    1/2 C. crushed ice
    Dump into blender

Squeeze Honey over the top (this is based on how sweet you want it)
    2 Tbl. GNC Protein Whey
    1 Tbl. Ground Flaxseed

Now blend until smooth...Pour back into Solo cup and Enjoy
    About 300 cal!

    Oats on the go

Use a 1 cup plastic dish with a lid
1 C. raw oats (I use the old fashion kind)
    Sprinkle dried cranberries on top
    Cover with Vanilla Soy Milk
Sprinkle ground Flaxseed, sugar and cinnamon and seal

Put in the refrig while you are getting ready for work, grab it and a spoon as you head out the door!

By using Soy Milk you have also changed the Oatmeal Carb into a Good for you Protein
    Less than 300 cal!

  • 1/2 cup dry oats, 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (regular or greek), 1tbs peanut butter or pumpkin. Mix it up, fridge overnight, amazing in the morning (especially since it's already too hot to want to cook in Texas). It's 25-310, depending on the peanut butter.

I must admit i'm amazed at how many people have eggs in the AM. The fat and cholesterol are daunting at best. I do a whole wheat english muffin (dry) 1/4 cup egg beaters or just a microwaved egg white, sometimes with a turkey sausage patty, comes in under 300 calories. Sometimes a Protein shake 5 frozen strawberries comes in under 200, fiber one cereal a couple times a week with skim 260 for the honey nut stuff and under 200 for the original.

Wow, I need to get adventerous. My typical morning is 1 cup of Cheerios or 3/4 cup of Honey Nut Cheerios with 1/2 cup of 1% milk. Sometimes I'll add a few strawberries on the side for fun (can't mix my foods - it weirds me out).

    My go to breakfasts are:

Breakfast burrito with egg, turkey crumbles, cheese, salsa, green onion in a wrap or tortilla (223 calories)
Breakfast pizza - hash browns, eggs, cheese, bacon baked in pie pan (234 calories)
Steel cut oats with sliced almonds and brown sugar splenda (255 calories)
English muffin with peanut butter and sliced banana (300 calories)
Baked oatmeal with strawberry and banana (224 calories)
Poached egg over bacon on english muffin and hash browns (328 calories)
Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cheerios mixed together with almond milk (under 200 calories)

I have these over and over again with something difference every once in a while. There's enough variety for me; I haven't gotten bored with these choice yet. I make the pizza and baked oatmeal and put in the freezer so I can grab and go. Same with the burritos; I always have 6-8 of those in the freezer. I fill in with fruit or juice, chia seeds, nuts, other stuff if I'm feeling hungry. But usually just have one of the above and then have something mid-morning for a snack.

I have a Sara Lee English Muffin (90 calories), 1/2 of a large scrambled egg, Oscar Mayer Microwave Bacon (2 pieces) for 35 calories, and a tbsp of shredded cheddar cheese. Yum and only 200 calories! I always throw in some grapes in case I do get hungry before lunch. I've also used turkey sausage instead of bacon and it changes the calories slightly more than 200 but it's still filling.

Eggs have gotten a bad rap! They're not bad by themselves - they're full of protein. It's how they are cooked, how often they are consumed and what people do them that make them bad.

I like to get the Perfect Oatmeal from Starbucks and it's 390 calories. It comes with brown sugar, dried fruit, and nuts. I usually get a latte too, so definitely don't do that if you want to stay under 400. I'm not trying to lose weight yet though, I just got on here to find out what my typical calories were and I've been shocked!
