    Hi,

Never ran just a mile, but in Nike+ it says my fastest mile was 8:37

I use Km for distance measurements, but went to do some calculations.
Usually I run from 8 to 10 K (5 to 6 miles) and my average is 6min/Km (or 9:40/mile). So 1hour to do 10K it's not to bad

When I did my first 20K, i took 2h12min., but I was trying for the distance, not for time. My averages were something like:
    1 to 5K : 31min
    5 to 10 K: 32 min
    10 to 15 K: 33 min
    15 to 20K: 36 min

    Keep running people

I haven't timed myself going one mile since December (and then got a stress fracture) but it was 7:16.

I timed myself running 1/10th of a mile in 32 seconds the other day, though. That would be a 5:20 minute mile if I could keep up the pace, but I doubt I could. Not yet, anyway.

I'm doing c25k and on my 25 minute run for week 7 day 2 my first mile was 14:45-my best time so far...is it bad that my first goal is to run a 12 minute mile? :blushing:

Fastest I ever recorded was I think 5:37.

Fastest is 8:02, but that is not a pace I can keep up for more than one mile. My default pace for running distance is somewhere between 10:45 and 11:30 per mile.

Unfortunately 13 min. Now I can't run a mile my knees won't let me. Can walk a mile in 20min. and can swim a mile in an hour.

Depends how many I have to run! LOL! Haven't timed myself for a single mile but I've run some 800m (half mile) interval repeats in 3ish minutes, so I could probably pull a single 6:30 mile out if I had to.

5K I can run about 7:30 avg pace
My last 10K I ran at 7:50 pace

Running a half-marathon tomorrow so I'll let you know when it's over but I'm hoping 8:30 or less per mile.

two miles is normally around 11.40 :]

took forever to get that , i was never a runner until like a year ago.

I run 3-4 miles at a time, with my average right around 9. I should run a single mile to see how fast I could do that in...

    Sadly, 13 min per mils

Nothing sad about this at all... a mile is a mile!

My fastest mile is 11:21, which was the first mile of my PR 5K.

My fastest mile is 9:05, but I rarely just run 1 mile. I'm currently training for a half marathon! My pace on runs shorter than 5 miles is about 10:15/mi, and 6-10 mile runs average about 10:50/mi.

I can run 16:45 like a BOSS!! I'm pretty damn proud of it, too!

I'd love to strap 100+ pounds on a marathon runner and see how fast they can run. Seriously, it's HARD when you're overweight, but I keep on truckin! :drinker:

11 min is good for me, I'm sure if I really pushed myself I could do it in less time, but 11 is comfortable for me.

If I was just running 1 mile, likely about 8 min/mile

If I go all out, I reckon I could maybe get into the high 5 mins, based on the fact I did a 6:24 as part of an overly competitive warm up a few weeks ago.

I'm not really into running (for runnings sake, I don't mind it as part of other sports etc..) at all, so it's not something I've ever really gotten into, or felt an urge to do lots of.

EDIT - to clarify - by not into running, I mean I kind of hate it!

Last year I did it in under 9 minutes. Now I probably would have trouble getting under 11.

20 years ago? About 5:30. Today? Perhaps about 12 minutes, as part of a fairly leisurely mid-day run. I suppose if there were a velociraptor chasing me I could get it in under 10. :)

Ooohh I'm proud of myself for this one so I'll contribute to this topic too! :)

I ran 8 miles the other day and I hauled *kitten* on the last mile- I ran it in 6:53! (the other miles were at about an 8min pace) It made me wonder how fast I could run a mile if it wasn't the last of 8! I've been thinking about trying to see how fast I can run a mile and this thread is inspiring me to do it soon! Maybe Monday...

I can only do a mile at a time right now, need to build up my fitness (and lose some more weight) before I can run several miles at a time! But so far my best is a mile at 10:45. It's usually slower than that on a treadmill though, and exhausts me a lot more.

If I'm just doing one, I can do 7:45 or 8min. When I do four or five miles, that goes up to 9min/mile, and my half marathons usually average 9:45min/mile.
