I had a tiny waist in comparison to my hips and butt.
Many pear shaped women have a small waist, too. Hourglasses have a bust as well. The measurements for the classic, perfect hourglass used to be:
Bust --X
Waist --X-10
Hips -- X0 -
I'm not short(5'7) but...
my measurements are: 35.5-25-350 -
My datas are:
height: 5'7
47-37-45 at the moment0 -

You're clearly an hourglass. Until reading this thread, I didn't think it was difficult to figure out.0 -

Current:
Bust: 24
Waist: 22
Hips: 26
Goal:
Hips: 240 -
I think I'm hourglass, but not short 5'9, 34-25.5-35.50

I am 5'4" and my measurements are:
Bust- 34"
Waist- 27"
hips- 37"0 -
I'm 5'4"
41, 35, 46
I have lost an inch off my waist and hips since I started MFP! no specific goal, I'd like to get down to size 12 though (currently 16-18).
I love my shape, but it is hard to find clothes that flatter the hourglass, sometimes I look like I'm all boobs.
Any suggestions?0 -

I would consider you an hourglass, too. Basically, the bust and the hips are about the same measurement, and the waist is about 9 to 10 inches less than the bust and hips.0 -
Currently:
Bust 36
Waist 25
Hip 37
Goal (around the same as I was in my avatar):
Bust 35
Waist 24
Hip 36
I tend to look a little straight though since my bottom measurement is most influenced by my rear protruding outward (bubble butt), not hip width.
I'm 5'4"0 -
Hula hoop is a great idea!0

I will note, Apple Bottom jeans are the most comfortable and flattering jeans I have found, and Fashion Bug jeans have been a close 2nd (plus size). Because I am big on top and have broad shoulders I have found tank tops with a wide shoulder band and tops with long short-sleeves and large-ish necks to be most flattering.0 -
i'm 5'6" so im not really short..

trying to get to a 24 inch waist. i'm getting there!0 -
I am, but you can't see it right now haha. I don't know my measurements though. I need to lose about 15 inches on these hips though!0

5'4" Hourglass:
-bust (largest point)- 39
-waist (smallest point) - 28
-hips (largest point) - 41
These have probably changed, I am not exactly sure when I took them. I ALWAYS lose from my waist first.
Last time I was my ideal weight i was somewhere around 35/25/36, and that would be a great place to get to again .0 -
What is considered hour glass?
Im almost 5'7
bust 36-38d
waist 33
hips 41
would like to be:
bust 36-38d
waist 27-29
hips 39-40
what weight got you under a 30 inch waist? anyone?0 -
Even at my highest weight (nearly 180) my waist did not exceed 30 inches, in fact I am not sure it passed 28ish -- but I am VERY hourglassy (I don't gain or lose much to my waist, it's all in the bust/hips). I am 5'4".
I am not sure if that helps!0 -

Def an hour glass.....38-28-38 at 60 years young. At my prime, was a 36-26-36, so at this stage of my life, I will def. take these measurements.....0

Someone on here said I was pear and not hourglass but I just read a few things that said shoulder measurements are a more accurate indicator? My shoulders are a similar width to my hips. I don't mind being a pear, but I just don't know if I am. Not all hourglasses have a big bust, do they?
I dunno, this just doesn't seem 'pear' to me. It's pretty proportioned. Can someone please clarify for me?
And
(Excuse the fatness  )0 -

P.S.
I was 181 a few weeks ago and I measured 44.5-34-44.5 so I don't know how people were 180 with a tiny waist..unless they have an extremely large toosh and hips and breasts lol OR it could be since I have a large face that my measurements stay large because I am skinny when I'm 145lbs. Well anyways I am an average sized person in the toosh, my hips are large and my breasts are 36D/36DD.0 -
5'4
Dont measure bust, but right now I wear a 32 D
Waist - 27.5
Hips - 38.75
Goal:
Reduce cup size, would rather be a C cup
Waist: 23-24
Hips: 35? I dont really care honestly, I'm mostly concerned about my waist size.0 -
5'1"
measurements= 33, 24, 35 at 116lbs
goal= 33, 22-3, 34 at about 105 (my 'race weight' for when I start half marathon training)
I was there at Thanksgiving-Christmas, but then I stopped working as hard for the new year -_-'0
