Just curious as to what everyone's most important food is to them in their diary?
Mine would be water water water! ( yes I know that's not a food :) )
Probably a protein shake

If I don't have cereal in the morning -- Honey Nut Cheerios, Kashi Go Lean Crunch, oatmeal, Coco Wheat, etc -- I don't feel like i started the day right. I know I should be eating something with protein like eggs or loading up on fresh veggies and fruit blah blah blah, but life is short and I'll eat what I want for breakfast, dammit.

My staple breakfast is some combination of oatmeal, oat-based granola, and eggs. As for the rest of the day, I seek to always get a decent amount of protein from either fish or white poultry.
  • Definitely a protein shake for breakfast! I feel so much hungrier during the day if I don't start off with one

Me too! I LOVE my cereal in the morning. Every now and then I will have fresh fruit if it's something I like and it is in season, but more often than not I'll have cereal and then some fruit later on IF I get hungry before lunch.

Milk or eggs, I drink over half a liter of milk some days, couldn't go a day with out some, so that's probably my most important food, though I also have an egg almost every day.

Black Rice! I'm Asian so this is a godsend...I can't NOT eat rice, but replacing white rice with black rice has instantly relieved my calories. Instead of eating close to 400 calories just from white rice in ONE meal, it's now like 80 calories. Big difference.
