Sure. Seriously. As long as I finish.
But I don't run.0 -
I've done it in high school on the track team, so sure. Each race you get a little bit better and you can't get better without failing a few times.0
-
yep. Its not about finish first or last. Its about going out there and giving it your all. You aren't there to race against everyone else, you're racing against yourself.
Unless of course you're fast enough to actually podium and then you are in fact racing everyone else.0 -

I have0

I would and I have. Or rather I expected to. I was pleasantly surprised not to be last.0
-
Yes. Absolutely.
It isn't about being the best, or even being good. It's about doing MY best and, if my best is an hour slower than everyone else, that's okay.0 -
yes, i finished 2nd to last, and it was an amazing feeling, i was just happy i completed it! you wouldnt belive the amount of support you get by everyone else running, its very addicting!0

I want to do a 5k and I know I am not fast but I can run the distance. If I come in last I don't have a problem with that although not what I would prefer. For me it is the self accomplishment of running it.0

Yes0

Yes, I would.
I ran a 10k and finished dead-last! I felt that I had enough left in me for a final push to the finish line and make myself 2nd-to-last by passing, but I didn't have the heart to do it. It was a little boy, about 7 years old.0 -
Personally, no, but thats because I hate running.
If you rephrased the question as would you still participate in an exercise you are not very good at the answer is yes.0 -
4 months ago there would be no way I would but now that I enjoy exercise and running I would totally do it because it's fun.0

Yes in 2010 i completed an 8 mile assault course in Dorest courtesy of Votwo events called the Kamikaze.. I expected to finish last but i didn't so i was dead chuffed!! i was about 10th from last
Check this out http://www.votwo.co.uk/events-1/kamikaze-adventure-run-dorset-2012
so awesome!!0 -
I ran a race in VA, with a bunch of dudes that are on SWAT teams ... I was last and the only female (that I saw). I just shrugged it off because I know I ran at my usual pace.0
-
Yes, when it comes to fitness it become more to prove to yourself you ca finish the race not being first.0
-
Absolutely. It doesn't matter what place you come in as long as you do your best.0
-
Absolutely I would. Where else would I start?0
-
Yep. I have done 3 5ks. I love running and only try to improve my own time0
-
Yes, I would.

You've just described my entire middle and high school career, plus numerous 10ks since then, and I even went on the track team in middle school. I'm the world's worst runner, and yet I keep running (if you can call it that!).0
-
yes, i would just need to finish0
-
Honestly? YES! (then I would log my time and make sure next time I beat myself)0
-
Sure, as long as I gave it my best and I met my goals. What if I was running against the US Olympic team? then I would know how I really compare.0
-
I finished as the last male runner in my last 10k. BUT, I finished it 7.5 minutes faster than my previous one. And I'd do it again.0
-
Honestly? No.
I could give a rip about winning or losing, but I hate being the center of attention and the idea of being that last person that all the staff is waiting on, and not crossing the finish line in a crowd of people... no.
On the other hand, I probably wouldn't care to win a race for the same reason. I just wanna blend in with the herd!0 -
My first Warrior Dash, out of 7000 people I was in the bottom 100. I was very big and out of shape and so effin pumped to just say I was a mother f*cking Warrior. It's about setting a goal and completing it. Period.0
-
I would walk the heck out of that race ('cause I'm a walker) and I'd be proud because I would finish it!0
-
Absolutely! I did my first Duathlon last fall, knowing full well I would be at the back of the pack. My goal was to not finish last, and I didn't--I finished before 4 other people! But it felt so great to actually do it, even at my hefty size. I also found it easier to work out when I had something to work towards. Go for it!!!! You can do it!0
-
Yes. I fully expect to come in last in next month's Spartan Race - but as many people have stated above, I am running the race for me and to finish will be winning.0
