how the hell did i end up here
i'm scared. and alone. someone hold me.
Owns more shoes than any man should.
Leaps miniature buildings in a single bound.
Knows the difference between loose and lose.
Can mix a filthy martini with his eyes closed.
You had me at, "Knows the difference between loose and lose." What's your ability level with their and there?
It was the filthy martini for me...0 -

Darn it. You fixed the typo before I could say he keeps his lever in his pants.0 -
Most TOM-related topics I've seen only discuss water weight and things like that. Nothing "gross", nothing obscene.
It's not like people are making topics going, "MAN, I PASSED THE HUGEST CLOT LAST NIGHT, HERE'S SOME PICTURES I TOOK AS EVIDENCE, LET'S COMPARE!"
^^^^^HIL.AR.IOUS.
I don't know if I should laugh or puke. LOL
But, seriously, I have discussed it with those on my FL before...like how long do you keep the extra weight, etc....(I will keep the gross details to myself...LOL) but it is a fact of life, and we all have had to experience it in one form or another....I guess I just don't see what the big deal is??
Dunno.
Have a TOM free day. LOL0 -
Never bothered me one bit....perhaps it's time to grow some thicker skin if you're going to be surrounded by women....ever....and if not there's always all guy sites/places you can visit so you won't have to deal with this kind of thing again \m/

I refer to it as riding the cotton pony, that way I can log it as cardio under horseback riding
Ok, this is the funniest comment I have EVER read! Thanks for the laugh. TOM will be visitin me soon...good to know I can log some cardio during.0 -
**MODERATOR REMOVED IMAGE AS INAPPROPRIATE**
deal with it.
That is so obscenely gross it's funny!
I was thinking the same thing lol
At first I was like....oook girl reading a book, then scrolled down and wowie. I think she sat in some ketchup
That was the most disgusting/hilarious thing I've ever seen!!0 -
It sometimes embarrasses me to be a woman when other women think they are somehow special for having periods. It's used for an excuse for just about anything a woman doesn't want to do (go to work, work out, etc), or wants to do (cheat on your diet, go shopping, treat yourself "just because"). Having a period doesn't mean you are sick or special in any way. Deal with it and quit inflicting it on others. Thank-you. :noway:0

Would you rather us all say "hey I'm bleeding from my vag this week?"
Didn't think so!0 -

I'm sorry but if you are having sex you would think you could put your big pants on and suck it up ... I mean really.... I am sorry I am pretty much considered a "prude" here on MFP and this is taking it a little too far honestly.
I have to hear about things that men talk about on here that I think is TMI so on...I just don't walk into a post that is FAIRLY labled.
I am off my soap box.0 -

Never bothered me, maybe because I am married, but I'm use to it. For me I simply move past it, but good job in making a thread about it, that should clear up the problem real quick :flowerforyou:0

Perhaps you are lucky and your period doesn't come with debilitating cramps, heavy bleeding, migraines, and insane bloating. Everyone is different and for some people it does mean they are sick. You should probably realize that YOUR experience does not include the entire human race.
But thanks for inflicting your opinion on us. :huh:0 -
I just don't talk about it. I barely even want to acknowledge it. Maybe if I ignore it, it will go away.0

I want to ask why my picture was removed. Is the female body so disgusting the moderators thought they should take it down? This makes me want to be a damn feminist.0

amen!! we could be alot more nasty about it but we are not! grown ups should know that PERIODS are not a secret and we should not have to hide it and we are def allowed to talk about it anywhere we want! you have no clue what that week is like! you should be glad we dont post our thoughts about it on billboards! grow up and deal!0 -

I always find that women who don't have hard periods adopt this stance. Before I stopped having mine, I would spend 4 days of 8 in fetal position. The remainder would be okay, if you think sharp pelvic pain intermingled with heavy cramping is okay. A good period for me was one that didn't involve fainting (anemia) or ****ting myself (sudden diarrhea) . A good one for my mother meant not needing a blood transfusion.
Thinking you're somehow better than others because you personally are not affected is a bit rude.0 -
If you think that is a very private thing to discuss then you might as well tell the companies who makes those tampons or sanitary pads to stop advertising it on TV, billboards, magazines etc. But since I was a kid, I always see those things on TV.0

Yeah, congratulations to you for having the perfect period.
Before I got on birth control and iron supplements, my periods were so heavy I had to change my "feminine product" every hour or two. Even in the middle of the night. My legs hurt so bad from cramps that it would make me cry. I got so nauseous I wouldn't eat and would occasionally throw up my food. And don't even start with the head aches.
Now that I'm on birth control my symptoms are a little better but still bad. I'm PMSing right now and have had the same headache for two days straight, along with bowel problems.
So yeah, for a perfect little princess like you I'm sure there's no reason to complain. For me however, there is, because this takes up about 2 weeks out of my month. Half of it. I'm living 50% of my life in relative pain. God, just shut up okay?0 -

You, and some others, are assuming I never had a problem. When I was a teenager, the cramps were so bad, I would rock myself in bed for a whole day until I figured out if I ran or did some extreme exercise, it alleviated the cramps...and that was back when women were "too delicate" for extreme sports.
Edit: I realize some women may get extreme symptoms, but if you are well enough to be complaining about it on here, you aren't sick. Maybe if so many women didn't use "TOM" as an excuse, it wouldn't be so irritating. I don't believe I ever said I thought I was better than anyone. Think of another personal insult.. that one didn't work.0 -

Was this also back in the time when women were seen and not heard? If so, I'm pretty sure that would be a good era for you to relive.0 -
Really? I don't think any one cares about my body that much except for me.
Really? Maybe you should start a new site called MyFitnessForeverAlone.
Seriously people. Periods really really do effect your weight loss, your appetite, your mood, your motivation, and your physical ability. What's wrong with discussing it on a fitness site?
Exactly. How is a comment like "TOM is in town, I am really hungry this week." problematic. It is no different than saying, I am on vacation and we have all kinds of temptations around.0 -

I'm happy for you that you have your system running perfectly that you don't deal with pain. For someone who has PCOS like me, this is totally an insult. Do you know that whenever I have period it takes months & within that I have days where I just couldn't get up because of extreme cramps & then also can't work because I'm losing blood because of it. Did you know that there was a time that I actually got hospitalized because of bleeding THAT ALMOST TOOK AWAY MY LIFE!!!! Its not about making excuses. Don't assume that everyone is the same just because you don't suffer from it.0 -
((((hugs)))) Roachhaley and TheFunBun. That sucks.0
