How many people actually diet 7 days a week?

The reason i ask is purely down to curiosity, as i notice allot of peoples diary's are blank, on Saturday and Sunday. Before we go any further im not having a dig at anyone, because i myself have been guilty of this in the past. I used to work out my TDEE, create a deficit worked out on a 7 day week, and diet Monday to Friday, and then wonder why the scale wasn't moving lol. Anyone guilty of this now or in the past? Again this was in my past, i don't do it any more.

24/360-ish (Federal holidays don't count!)

NGL though, being on a diet so much makes socializing very difficult. Everything @ half portion, a bite of dessert and no appetizers seem to be my MO now.

Nope, I am quite satisfied with my calorie goal at the moment. It allows me to eat what I want, so I don't need splurge days.

I'm half guilty. I'm not very good at logging my bad days though I am trying really hard to do better. But I don't wonder why the scale hasn't moved; I know I can't blame the program when it's my fault for not following it.

I tend to log everyday but sometimes there are meals where I just can't log it. Tonight is an example. I'm going to a cocktail party with heavy appetizers. I will not spend the evening with my phone trying to keep track of every nibble and no I won't remember everything. I currently have over 1200 calories remaining for the day so will just hope for the best. This kind of situation happens probably once a week-this week I get it twice!

Also, I don't consider it a "diet". This is my life now. I try and eat healthy and really watch what I eat most of the time but still allow myself to enjoy social activities-and yes, that includes eating non-healthy foods.

it's a lifestyle not a diet so every day! even when I indulge! 7 days a week! I have cheat/indulge 'moments' cheat days are a step back and for me would escalate into everyday again ;) minus vacations - those are cheat/indulge lots of moments so 7 days a week minus vacations I guess haha

that makes no sense probs haha

I think I will be really devastated once I hit my first plateau.

I eat as healthily as I can every day of the week. I try to ensure that I stick within calories every day of the week. of course, I occasionally slip up, but don't do the regular 'cheat' day thing. I don't think that kind of thing would be helpful to me.

I always try to log but sometimes I forget or will log part of my day and then forget about the end part. That only happens when things get really crazy on the weekends or when I'm on vacation.

24/7 cause I'm trying to not see it as a "diet" rather a lifestyle change. I want to re-learn not just a quick fix.

I don't diet, so there is no need to change things from one week to the next. I shoot for a net of 1650 day to day or an overall week of 11,550 calories. If I'm under a couple days in the week I will try to use up those calories over the weekend.

Me too. Although I don't "diet" any day, I just aim to eat a blanced diet within my macros

I wondered how long it would be before the 'lifestyle' vs 'diet' distinction was drawn. It's an artificial distinction. Your 'lifestyle' involves incorporating healthy eating. In that sense you are, indeed, adapting your 'diet'. It isn't a fad diet, or a crash diet, but your new lifestyle certainly includes healthy dietary practices. In that sense your 'diet' has changed.

    Bugbear. As you were.

Forget about it. Usually good 5 days not so good 2 days. Life is too short!
  • I log all the stuff I eat. I try and eat healthy everyday. There are times I have a treat but I still log it and I try not to get outta control with it. I dont go a whole day eating what I want. I choose specific meals throughout the week and splurge a little.

I don't diet. I eat what I want just use portion control. I sometimes forget to keep track of my food but I try to track it everyday. I'm more interested in keeping track of my exercise. If I get in an hour of exercise a day, I can pretty much eat up to 2000 calories a day and still lose 1/2 to 1 pound a week. On weeks I skip exercising, I gain or stay the same. I'm only trying to lose 1/2 pound to 1 pound a week because I'm trying to do something I can stick to. I've never been able to stick to a diet but I love the feeling I get after exercising so I know that I can keep it up. Don't get me wrong, I don't binge all day. I actually try to eat something every 2 -3 hours so I don't get that shaky hungry feeling and usually I stay well below 2000 calories in a day but sometimes I do go over.

    Yes it makes sense lol
Im just wondering if, this could be the problem of allot of peoples, "I've hit a plateau threads i see so often"
Just a theory of mine
And yes being a social person, it does make things tough, i agree. It takes an iron will and thick skin to brush off the weird looks lol

I log every day, except when I'm out of town w/o internet access.

Usually the reason I'm out of town is for an Aikido seminar, so I figure not tracking when I did 4+ hours of Aikido that day isn't going to kill me. :P

Edited: Even though I'm not tracking, I'm still mindful of what I'm eating -- i.e. eating slowly, not eating just because it's in front of me and deliciuos.

I have recently really started to hold myself accountable for my sat/sundays as I wasn't logging those days and it has been my downfall.

I felt that myself and my DH had a hard weekend with the kids and I deserved X, Y or Z. The mornings would start off fine, but by mid afternoon, things would go downhill. So I didn't bother logging my food over the weekend. Big mistake.

I'm doing much better the past month or so and I'm trying to fit in a workout depsite the fact I am tired after a hectic week working, kids and exercise. I feel soooooo much better come monday morning if I do all the above!

I log everyday even if it's going to put me over. I don't go over often but I don't deny my favorite 'bad' things either, I just have learned I can't have them everyday, I've also learned to make some of them healthier. I also make the most of my workouts and get more bang for my buck by using high intensity methods and giving me a little more wiggle room.

I tend to go over every now and then, I was religiously logging for my first 75 days here but this past weekend I was put on a sort of bed rest for three days. I tried to log my food but sleep was sooo much more important!! Now I'm back on my game plan...trust me though....my diary is no where near perfect...so I cant even say I 'diet' ever! LOL ;)
