well i started right after i had my last baby i had him july 27th 2011 and i started Aug. 8th 2011 at 287lbs and now i am at 167lbs in 9 months i lost 116lbs and now i am working on my abs and want to drop 20 more pounds i want to be at 150lbs. i just started this myfitnesspal about a week ago and lost 5lbs.0

26 pounds in 8 months - I'm over 200 pounds and eating well and exercising by walking and weights - the weight is moving very slowly0

3 months - 25 lbs.
However, it has slowed down now.. over the next 3 months, I will probably only lose half that much. But that's okay, I'm onyl 12 lbs away from my first "goal" weight. and then another 12 to my big goal!0 -

I lose at a very slow pace but I don't let it discourage me. I've lost 12 lbs. in 4 months. As long as the numbers keep going down I'm happy. It's not important how fast you lose. The important thing is being at a healthy BMI and Maintaining it. It's a lifelong journey!0

In 18 months I lost 72 lbs, so 1lbs a week. There were weeks that were more and weeks that were less.

I'm with you on the slow burn... 32 lbs in 16 months.
Figuring 2 things :
---The less drastic the change the easier it will be to stick with it.
---The slower I lose the more likely I am to keep it off.

One seed of wisdom for everyone here though - DON'T get caught up in how fast other people are losing weight!! I have learned that comparing myself, my progress, or my circumstances with others, just leads to frustration and/or depression. DON'T DO IT!!!! We are all unique individuals. Some honestly just have it easier than others. I know it's not fair. HOWEVER, every single one of us have the power, the drive, the motivation within us to DO THIS with VICTORY!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Don't ever give up! If you have a bad day, or a bad week, get up, dust yourself off, and go at it again!!!

That's great!! Any pointers for the rest of us? Anything that we can do as well? I am going on a cruise in 6 weeks and have gained weight back that I lost last year, so I really have 14 lbs to lose to get to that weight, but just want to lose what I can before then. 12 lbs would make me ecstatic!0
