This recipe can be changed as I do it from memory.
2 cans beans rinsed - black, kidney or whatever you like
1 egg
1/2 cups corn
1/2 oats (use enough to bind, bread crumbs, quinoa or cornmeal work well too. Oats are so good for you.
I shaved carrot
1 cup shaved beets (use gloves, lol)
half a cup of shaved or shredded cauliflower
half onion diced small
* all veggies can substituted with whatever you like or have
Season to taste - Cumin, chili powder, Curry, Cayenne, garlic whatever you like
Recipe makes at least 8 big patties. Shape and place on parchment or wax paper in oven at 370 for 20-30 mins, flip once. Can also be done in frying pan. Once you try it you can change it to suit your needs0 -
I'm a big fan of pinto bean burgers. I'm sure there are a ton online, or you can message me for my recipe. I add guacamole and bean sprouts on top and use a thin sandwich bun. Delish!0

Am I allowed to give you my recipe? :blushing: Here's the link to my blog with the pic on it, the post before this is the recipe (didn't know how to put a pic in then!)

Another turn on the portabella mushrooms--remove stem and gills-drizzle olive oil or balsamic vinegar and then place upside down to marinate. Dice and saute green and red peppers, onions, garlic and add diced stems at the end. Fill the mushrooms and heat under a broiler or on the grill. You can add cheese if you're not vegan. Moz, swiss or provolone are best. Put it on a toasted bun. YUM!!0

THANX
Try Vegetarian Times quinoa and black bean burgers.... the calories are less than it shows if you don't use a bun....without the bun each burger is 142 calories... I also add corn to the recipe....
I make these and eat them over salad with avocado, salsa and vegi's... with some chips crumbled on top:

Here's a bean burger recipe that I love. I don't include the olives when I make it though. You can also substitute the tamari for soy sauce if need be, but I believe tamari has less sodium.
Black Bean Sweet Potato Almond Burgers:
14 oz. can black beans (2 cups)
1 cup sweet potato, grated
1/2 cup almond butter
1/2 cup red onion, diced
1/4 cup Sicilian olives, diced
1/4 whole spelt flour or other flour
2 tbsp tamari
3 cloves garlic, diced
1 tbsp fresh ginger root, grated
Drain and rinse one can of black beans. Place them in a medium bowl and mash. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Scoop 1/3 cup of the batter at a time to form individual burger patties. Place a cast-iron frying pan on the stove on medium heat. Add a bit of oil to the pan and place a few burger patties in the oil. Fry each burger for 7-10 minutes on one side, then flip them over and fry an additional 5-7 minutes on the other side, or until the centers of the burgers are cooked through. Serve hot on burger buns with condiments of your choice.0 -
