Beautiful Blue Team Week 5

It has been a long yet short weekend. I went to a pizza party at my brother's house on Halloween. He makes the best homemade pizza ever. His wife made the best cut out cookies ever--so guess what I ate too much of. Both! :noway: I have worked every other day so my sleep schedule has been really messed up. So I feel as though I have been walking in a daze. Eating wrong+sleeping wrong=feeling bad! Today I have to tackle the house, the piles of laundry and my daughter telling me every night that she doesn't have jammies because I haven't done laundry are getting to me. Let's have a fresh start today and be really good so we can have that pound loss by Wednesday--I may need a little luck for that. Have a great day.
Sani I love your quote...I think that is the part that inspires me the most in the Biggest Loser. Everyone finds themselves in the gym. I need to find myself so I don't medicate with food anymore...
:flowerforyou:0 -
san-I love the quote....
debnu - you can do it - keep working out--even the laundry can be a workout - each time to pull a load out of the dryer - squat instead of bending to get the clothes out - repeat
taradise - I agree - life does happen and we're all coming out of weekends that we know may not have been the best but it seems our attitudes are moving forward in the right direction0 -
Great Jilliam Michaels quote!
I am also going through the whole lack of sleep/no energy thing. Today I'm debating whether to workout or not, because I'm feeling so tired. But I did just take my multi vitamin and hopefully I'll feel better. I've been going to sleep late these past days. I think overall, the most important thing is to keep going and to not give up.

I'm going to go to anytime fitness and see how much my insurance will pay to go there. From what I heard as long as I go twice a week my insurance will cover it. So we will see. I'm sure I can find a reason to go to town twice a week.
Wow! Your insurance will pay for the gym??
I hope they will. My only problem is that I have to drive like 20 mins to get there.0 -
Good mornin people!!
So, glad that it's Monday! Again, the weak-end got to me!! It's going to be a long week of beatings as Jillian Michaels would say!! I really want some sort of loss this week!!
Taradise, enjoy your time at the gym & good for you on behaving on Sunday. It's sometimes so easy to just throw the whole weekend away!! You'll be great!!
So, I had to exchange yet another top to the store! I just can't get it into my head that I wear a small now!! This time last year I was wearing L & XL tops & 14 pants. This year I'm wearing Smalls & 4-6 pants & dresses!! It just blows me away! It's been a great year!
Have a great day & work, work, work!!!
You rock girl.0 -
Hello Beautiful Blues!
I got in 2 servings of fruit and 2 servings of veggies yesterday. I'm planning for the same today! I'm planning on another spin class this evening.
almomay - when I'm feeling tired or kinda blah, I put on an exercise DVD. That way I don't have to drive anywhere and if I really am too fatigued then I can stop the DVD at any time.
debnu1 - good luck with all that Laundry!! It never really seems to end. I hope you are able to get your sleep scheduled worked out. For me, sleep is a major factor in controling food and stress.0 -
Time change is killer with a puppy - she thinks she needs to be up at 515am and then again at 615 when we're up....oh well - she's so cute she can get away with it!
I acutally got in 2 servings of veggies and 1 of fruit yesterday....will work on 2 and 2 today and water and more water!
last december we bought the front load washers and the capacity is so much larger than what we had - it's so much easier to keep up now. 2 loads empties by two hampers in the bathroom.
Today is my easy run day - 2 miles. Hubby's goonna run with me....tomorrow is 5 miles, thursday I hope to have time to go to the 545am strength class before we go to the beach and friday will be the elliptical or beach walk to work off some of the Thursday night seafood, Saturday 6 mile run--help work off the piano bar and appetizers from Friday , Sunday - drive home but maybe sneak in a walk in the morning on the beach before we go. That's my week in a nutshell...eat, drink, and sweat it out after!:laugh:0 -
Good morning blues!!
My weakend ended up carring over to my Monday night!! I told my hubby last night that this was IT!! I'd not be joining him in his nightime snacks anymore! A friend on another thread put up a no late night snacking challenge & it should do me good. I think it becomes a habit, a craving, more than a need for food or a hunger.
Taradise, congrats on your fruits & veggies!! Enjoy your spin class tonight!
j_gforever, thanks! :blushing: And, I hope that things work out with your insurance co & the anytime fitness thing! That'd be awesome!
Mayra, I hope that things work out with you & your energy issues. It can be really tough. Sounds like you need to get back into a sleep routine. It really is essential to so many aspects of our health & fitness.
Chrissy, congrats on your latest 5k & for making your time goal!! You are such an inspiration!!
Make it a great day people!! It's biggest loser night & tomorrow is our weigh in!!

Mornin all
I feel like crap today.Migrains are a killer  Right now my goal for today is not pucking on my boss's shoes.
I did 30 minutes of strength training on my Wii last night and 86 oz of water. Not sure what tonight holds it just depends how I feel later0 -
Hey Blues... does anyone have a heart rate monitor? I've been considering one. Any ideas? I was just looking for something to calculated my cals burned during a workout - something simple. I hear the kind with a chest strap are more accurate.0

II have a Polar F6 w/ a chest strap & love, love, love it!! It's pretty simple to use & really a great motivator in burning calories!! It's amazing how off some machines are in their estimates. My treadmill will tell me I burned 500 calories & my hrm will tell me that it was closer to 300. Imagine eating an extra 200 calories a day - it adds up!! My polar cost me $109 at ****sSporting Goods.com & it was worth every penny!!0 -
smadag - feel better hate that you have to work feeling like that.
taradise-I have the polar f6 also - love it!!! I have heard the same thing that the ones without the chest strap are far less accurate...
Last night I realized that I had not re-set my weight in quite some time - it was 20 pounds off! So when I did my workout lastnight, it was about 40 calories less than I've been counting and I think that was part of it so needless to say for a couple monthes, I've eaten my exercise calories that I didn't burn...maybe this will help me lose those last few.0 -

I also have a Polar F6.
Works great. Chest strap is more accurate, and difference between Polar F4 and Polar F6, if you go to a gym and other people have polar F4's, the signals can get mixed up.(ie your showing calories burned by person beside you).. the Polar F6 has some different channel/frequence so that doesnt' happen.
If you don't plan on using one at a guy, then a Polar F4 should suffice.0 -

Good morning everyone, Sandy, you can do it. My motto, is out of sight, out of mind.
I've taken some flack online, when I keep suggesting for people not to have it in the house.(sweets, chocolate, etc)
Then I get some people who say "oh in moderation it's ok". We can't tell the other person not to bring it in the house. Agreed to that argument.
I see that almost everytime someone things they can do it in moderation, they fail, becuse it's in eye sight, within reach, they know it's there, and makes it more tempting.
If you can't see it, it won't tempt you. Tell your other half, if they are going to eat it and bring it in the house, to hide it.
To satisfy that craving, change your snack to something else healthier.
I've slacked off this last week, and snuck a few chocolate in this past week. dam trick or treats
I've also found out, I don't do as well when i'm working the dayshift. Most of my good weeks are when i'm on the afternoon shift.
Gotta get into a pattern/system on the dayshift. Next week on afternoons.
Good luck tomorrow blue team.0 -
Feeling a little better but still not great. no longer want to barf on boss's shoe's :blushing:0

Hey did you all see the challenge set by team Visualize this:
Post: So, whose up for the Challenge?
"The support group I am in, 'Visualize This', wants to challenge other groups! We are thinking of maybe a 12 week challenge, sort of Biggest Loser style! We'd weigh in weekly every Monday starting on November 9. We'd have to go off of the total % of weight lost. Anyone up for it? "
This is an interesting idea. Might be motivating. Thought I'd share with the team for thoughts.0 -
I am game for it. might be good motivation0
-
Could be interesting!! Seems like a Monday morning weigh in might be just what I need to get me to behave through the weekends!! LOL!!! :laugh:0
-
I'd be up for a challenge too....0
-
I am up for the challenge. I need something to get me back in the groove--with everything I have put weight loss on the back burner--stress makes me crave sweets too! (we were supposed to hear from the bank on that house, friday, monday and now today?)
I agree with out of sight out of mind. I am throwing out the rest of the candy today...I have eaten way too much over the last few days.:blushing:
Happy weighin tomorrow.
:flowerforyou:0 -
Ok... I'll respond that team Beautiful Blue accepts the challenge... see where this takes us0

I told my bf that it was back to the gym for me this week. I've only been going once or twice a week for a while now. So, at work yesterday, my line was down for 5 hours.....I mopped and scrubbed floors for 3 hours of that. I almost didn't go to the gym because I thought I exercised enough at work. But I went.....so maybe this is my new beginning. Today, we ended up getting off 30 minutes earlier than I expected.....so I walked for that 30 minutes. Still giving into some cravings, though.
Chrissy--great job on the 5K. I think we're going to do one the 21st. I'm nervous. But I liked what you said before about running for the victory of it. That makes sense to me. I love to be able to say that I can do something that a lot of people can't.....or just don't. So, I appreciate that.
I'm up for this challenge, also. I know that would get me in gear. I wouldn't wanna let the team down.
Hope you're all having a great week so far.0 -

I have a Timex Ironman and I love mine. I got mine on ebay for about $50 or so. It has a chest strap.0 -
I would be up for the challenge.0

Good mornin blues!!
And what a lovely morning it is!! I'm happy to report a loss of 1 lb this week!! I'm so glad that I was able to pull it together & do what I know must be done! Thank you all for your encouragement & motivation this week!
Yesterday afternoon I did Tae Bo & then in the evening I slipped out for a step class at the dance school. I burned over 650 cals between them both! When I came home I filled up my water glass with crystal lite & that was it!! No late night snacks for me! It was so hard!! Something about watching the Biggest Loser makes me want to eat!! Go figure!
Anyway, I hope that you ALL had a good weigh in today!! Keep at it team!!
I gotta get me & the girls ready for my AM step class!
Wish me luck!

Taradise - I love your quote! It's going to help me get through this tough weekend while camping! We all tend to eat & gain about 5 lbs everytime we go!! I need to break the cycle!! Hopefully the weather will be nice & we can actually do some hiking & stuff!!
Great job everyone!! Keep it up!!0
