Welcome new and returning triathletes!

The traditional challenge is to complete Ironman Triathlon mileage in the 30 days of June
--Swimming 2.4 Miles
--Biking 112 miles
--Running 26.2 miles

You may modify your mileage goals to suit your specific circumstances (e.g., distance changes, no pool access, goals, etc.) just set and declare those goals at the beginning of the month. It must still be a combination of running/walking, biking, and swimming we all love.

All skill levels welcome! We traditionally have some phenominal tri athletes here and some working toward their first sprint tri's. Feel free to Friend request those you find interesting, alot of support here goes on behind the scenes. Anyone may FR me.

We'll use this forum all month to log and report our mileage. You can log daily or weekly-- whatever keeps you motivated!

    After a succesful month of June, I'm going to stick to the traditional ironman for July.

    Goals for July:
    --Swimming 2.4 Miles
    --Biking 112 miles
    --Running 26.2 miles

    Races scheduled:
    none. yet. :)

    Great Idea! I like those goals. I competed in one Duathlon and ran my first half-marathon last summer. I would really like to get myself ready for a sprint tri. The swimming scares me. I can swim.... but more for leisure rather than distance or competition.


    I'll go with the Ironman distances for July.

    Swim: 2.4 miles
    Cycle: 112 miles
    Run: 26.2 miles


    I will also be riding in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 14th in the "Hauteans-in-motion ride".... either 50 miles or metric century ride (67 miles)

    This next two months are my build period before actually racing Ironman Wales in September. That means ever more training... I have one week mid July that will be low volume due to work, but apart from that i'm trying to kill it in July. so....

    Monthly goals

    Swim 15 miles
    Ride 500 miles
    Run 110 miles

    My legs ache just thinking about it :grumble:

    I did my first sprint 6/24. There is no reason to worry about the swim if you can make the distance.:) There were plenty of non expert swimmers there.

    & sounds like a great bike race. Yay!

    I'm in for July. I'm training for my first 2 tris this summer (a "Try a Tri" on Aug. 4th and a sprint on Sept. 1).

    I'll go for the full Ironman distance (put into kms for my Canadian self..)

    Swim: 2.4 miles (3.9 km)
    Cycle: 112 miles (180km)
    Run: 26.2 miles (42km)

    I feel like the bike might be hard for me to get in this month, but I'll give it a shot.

    I'm in! Looking my the calendar it will definitely be a challenge but I'm going to try for the traditional 2.4 swim, 112 bike, and 26.2 run in July.
    I have an Olympic Distance race scheduled for July 15

    I'm in! I almost did it in June without really trying, so this time I will do it :p

    Swimming : 4km
    Biking : 500km
    Running : 50 km

    That's slightly more than the Ironman for the run, and more than double for the bike, but I bike commute so it should be ok.

    Good luck everyone, especially Crux with his ramp up month :)

    Hi,
    I'm still pretty new to MFP, but this seems like a good group for me.
    I am training for a sprint - my first in 5 years and since having 2 kids!

    I haven't ever tracked mileage cumulatively like this before so I will set my goal and see how it goes....I think the bike miles will be the biggest challenge as I have trouble finding the time!

    Swim - 2.4
    Run 3.1/26.2
    Bike 20/112

    7/1 - 5k race (3.1) & 20m bike - big day!
    7/2 - 3 mile walk (not logging above)



    (also, if anyone has similar goals, please feel free to add me - would love some "tri" friends on here :)
