For the scale: "You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit"

For the gym: "I am a gladiator, this is my arena!"

i use what our leader said repeatedly at weight watchers "which do i want more". sometimes the answer is "i would rather be thinner" but sometimes the answer is "i want ______ more". It has also kept me from feeling too deprived. Best of luck. Hope you find your perfect mantra :)

When I first started my journey I wrote this quote on a piece of paper and I read it every morning: "Out of the darkness and into the light". Now my favorite is: "Cowboy Up".

    Things I tell myself daily/weekly:

"Sitting on your *kitten* won't make you a size 8."

"The only person you'll disappoint is yourself, and that's the one person you DON'T want to disappoint."

"If you sit here at home, 40 minutes will blink away. You could have spent that 40 minutes at the gym."

And my version of the one above: "In an hour, you'll wish you would have gone to the gym now."

"Nothing is as hard as knowing you let yourself down."

    Sweat is fat crying!!!

    I LOVE THIS. Bahahahaha!
  • I have a *playlist* that I keep running to beat the emotional end of this battle:

The way to counter bad habits is to do the OPPOSITE

If I bite it, I write it.

Denial might fool my friends, but it won't fool my body.

I'm NOT a dog, I don't need to reward myself w/ treats if I'm *good* and
withhold them from myself if I'm *bad*

Just because I CAN, doesn't mean I SHOULD>>>> (Referring to eating EMPTY calories)

    but my fav:
It's *just* food- some good, some better, some with LOTS of nutrition, some with less, some w/ zero-
and in the end, it ALL becomes feces.

Just do it!! I am at the beginning of the journey so right now I am just taking it hour by hour, day by day - if I do good today I can do better tomorrow. If I end up screwing up - I deal with it by getting right back on the horse - its still better and healthier than eating the way I used to - which was basically an entire screw up day!!

"One step at a time" -- I say this to remind me that I may have a long way to go but if I don't take the necessary steps I will not make it to my ultimate goal.

im a firm believer in "no pain no gain." if ur in the gym and you are doing volume training for muscular size then it has to hurt to have results.

Its cool to hear someone speak like I do and you seem to be in a lot better shape then me at the moment. I go to the gym and train to failure. I leave the gym not only sweating and breathing heavy, but also have pain in my abs and useless arms. I make sure to create tears everytime I go.

I'm using this one, too, next time I want to reward myself with food.

When I feel hopeless or stuck during a workout or weight-lifting session, I tell myself, You have had 3 babies! Two of them completely natural childbirth! This is no where near being as hard as that, so you can do it!!

That really helps me a lot to push through.
