on cheat days i don't log everything.
when in full low carb mode, i sometimes will not log all my veggies.. and sometimes won't weigh the meat like if its on a bone, i might eat part of it before i cut the bone off and weigh it. but i'm pretty good at guesstimating now that i know what a piece of meat weighs and what it looks like.

I view that not as lying to MFP, but not being honest with yourself~

the stuff that i'm likely to omit is the stuff i might grab one or two of. and i'm not talking big things like cookies, slices of bread, etc.

i'm talking like taking 1 or 2 of my kids' french fries, or 1 or 2 almonds, or 1 or 2 grapes, etc. and i don't do it that often. over the course of the week it would probably matter more than over the course of the day............
  • Not anymore, the only thing I don't count is the low fat butter/spread I use on my sandwich, I don't know why though....

I eat some air popped popcorn throughout the day to help with my low blood sugar problem. I don't measure it or log it.

I sometimes under-report exercise, as I think that the calories burned for walking is a bit high in MFP, and I don't have an HRM yet. Otherwise, I don't (knowingly) lie to MFP. I don't have a scale, so I'm estimating 90% of what I report, and could be putting in wrong info by mistake, but I try very hard to estimate on the high end, just to be sure I'm reporting at least as much as I ate.

    Good question!

This sn't really a lie, but I know this is going to be a tough week with my daughter's birthday and our village festival. So, I went in and changed my goals from 1 1/2 pound a week to 1 pound. That way I am more apt to stay under my cals, and feel better when I look at my food log. Nothing like planning to fail! lol

I try to log everything. For a while I was using estimates like if I made a burger at home I would log it as a wendys burger if it was similar in size. But then I realized that's not true tracking. So now I pretty much measure everything that I have at home and log it. If it isn't in the database I quickly create my own recipie for it. I do try to log everything it is pretty easy if you have the APP becuase you can simply scan the barcode. But I will admit that I don't log coffee and water. I generally drink about 2-3 cups of coffee and about 8-10 glasses of water. My hardest day to log is Saturday becuase I hang out in a local pool hall with some friends so my diary is generally Rum and coke and then an estimate of some bar food becuase the pool hall doesn't have a nutrition guide. I even log the drinks as doubles when the bartener (i think she has a crush on me) makes the rum and diet with all RUM.

I'm not very concerned with measuring. I guestimate all the time. Also, my husband and I routinely eat out at local places, so I add food that roughly fits the description of what I actually ate, so who knows how off I am there. I don't purposely underestimate or leave things out though, because that only lies to MFP and not my body, so I will get the results either way.

    I don't always log my beer/wine intake. I should and I know this, but I don't.

I gave booze its own section in my diary, just so I can monitor it. My lowest weight loss weeks are always my highest for drinking!

If I weigh myself and the number went up for whatever reason I don't log that I weighed myself lol.

I'm the same way! I hate to see that number go up on the scale! I'm currently about 1.5 pounds over what my MFP weight loss ticker says, but I refuse to change it!

Ok I'll confess sometimes I won't level the measuring cup our spoon like I know I should.
I know every bite adds up, every bite counts so yep not leveling the measure and not listing it is a lie to MFP.:blushing:

I never lie about food or exercise, but I only log my weight if I've lost since my last weigh-in.

A doctor I saw told me to reduce my calories to 1200 , somedays I'm under so I add extra calories to avoid the irritating note from MFP telling me I'm not eating enough

I don't lie, no matter how painful. I've thought about it, but then I'd just be counter-productive so I don't.

A couple of months back I drank several beers and lost track of how many I had, so I just entered a random number. :embarassed:

why lie? aren't we here to lose weight? only cheating ourselves if we aren't accurate :)
Just because we don't log it doesn't mean it's not in our bodies lol
I log everything, the good, the bad and the ugly.
if someone thinks i'm not eating good/right eff em :)
I'm doing this for me and no one else!

    Who, me?
If you lie, the scale and your waistband knows. We're not fooling anyone! I am pretty honest with my logging but i admit to having the occasional slip up.

I"m very detail oriented, so I try to put EVERYTHING in MFP. I will spend hours doing the math to make sure it's right. 99% of the time. ;-) Sure I"ve ommitted a few things here and there, nothing major, maybe 5-10 calories or whatever. I"m not worried. For the most part I'm honest enough whereas the "fibbing" won't affect anything.

I don't always log my exercise. Since I don't have a heart rate monitor,I have no idea how much I'm actually burning so I'm afraid of going over my calories. Plus, I'm morbidly obese and I really don't think eating back ALL of your exercise calories implies to me. But, I do log in every single bite that I take and every ounce of fluid I consume.

I used to, until I realized all of those little things tend to add up when you're checking the scale. Now I log everything... right down to the exact seasonings.

I stopped adding in the packets of Crystal Light when they moved the water/ice machine from our floor at work. I only use 2-3 packets/wk so that's 20-30 calories/wk. I'm positive I burn at least that on my multiple trips up and down the stairs to the next floor with water & ice.

I do try to be honest with everything else, but do sometimes forget condiments.
